R* Decisions You Couldn't Understand

If they keep it out of single player, then I'm all good with it. I prefer single player and very rarely play online. Would've played GTA Online often if my friends were online and I think I've played Red Dead Online twice. Not complaining as much as I'm just not interested lol.

However, it's case of why fix what isn't broken. GTA IV Multiplayer and RDR Multiplayer were a blast with or without friends and economy and so on.

I only played RDO for maybe 3 hours. Haven't touched it since. I miss the simplistic multiplayer of GTA IV/EFLC and RDR1, but the new model is a cash cow so those days are long gone sadly.

As for me making this separate universe crap.To be honest I know this sounds pretty cliche but in my opinion I just wish they didn’t recreate liberty city in gta 4.I wished they kept part of the gta 3 renedition and just upgraded the city you know like different buildings and stuff. How new gangs came and about.

That's probably more of a Rockstar Logic type thing rather than something you can't understand but still fit tho lol

IV - why exclude Staten Island?

V - why make East and South LA so small?

V - why make Franklin's story short and boring?

V - why cater to children by focusing Online while neglecting your OG fan base?

Why Cockstar?

1. Because they saw it didn't really fit into the whole vibe and atmosphere they were going with nor the story

2. Disagree with that

3. Nothing new at all Rockstar always are ambitious however sometimes they change things at the last minute and sometimes it's really obvious with this being a prime example Franklin was supposed to be MUCH bigger in terms of his role and killable in option C and supposedly replace by Lamar

4. They wanted to try something new in this day and age and it works I guess. They have been doing the old fashion way for almost 15 years prior to Online however I do miss the old fashion way

In regards to South and East LS, they felt a little too industrial and less residential. This is definitely the case for Strawberry, La Mesa, and Murrieta Heights.

  1. lame excuse
  2. no comment
  3. i'm convinced because they tried to make him as the second cj but it turned out something about that doesn't make sense so they butchered him in the last second
  4. because in this day and age there's nothing that children can't obtain, be it pr0n, drugs or weapons so r* went like "fuq it lets make a kids-friendly gta online as kids can watch adult swim and red tube anyway"

Most video game companies don't actually believe there's anything wrong with a child playing M rated games (I'm not saying GTA specifically but I'm willing to bet at least 86.5% of all of us here has played an M+ rated game before 17 hell I'm 16 rn) so naturally they will give the kids what they want for their enjoyable experience... only problem is these ideas have been executed awfully... just awful. In all honesty, like most things in life, the actual concept of GTA online is great but with every update they make SO MANY damn bad decisions and mistakes that they mess up and ruin almost any good idea they had going for it. To quote Rafae S (R* Decisions You Couldn't Understand), "Everything they've done regarding GTAO and RDO. I just... I can't."

-San Andreas: Races forcing the use of a specific car instead of like every other GTA.

I actually like that. Because everyone would use a f*cking Infernus on every single race and then it's not really a challenge. I liked how hard races were in GTA SA compared to GTA IV and GTA V, Vice City, even.

But that should be up to the player. It's like how people use cheats in missions to make things easier. Doesn't affect anyone else, but hey the option's there.

Since San Andreas doesn't have online multiplayer it really doesn't matter if everyone used an Infernus or whatever since it doesn't disadvantage other players. I just think it's silly for a game that supposedly prides itself on "freedom" and "choice" it's weirdly restrictive in this area where other GTA games aren't.

I also somewhat disagree it makes things more challenging because after you learn how to win the challenge goes way since there's no opportunity to approach the same races again with a different classed vehicle.. It gets boring and predictable IMO. Imagine if in Need For Speed, Gran Turismo, Forza etc if they basically said "No f*ck you. YOU have to use this car and nothing else"? because that's what it feels like to me. It's even worse when you consider how much it renders vehicle customising useless. What the point of modifying anything when you can't even use it? After I found this out I only modified cars to put them in the garage since losing them was too risky.

And we hang sh*t on GTA V for being ball busting...😕

I have to say I do like the races in San Andreas. They're more challenging than in any other GTA and the big map means there's some cool and varied race routes. I don't mind the car being chosen, means it's a fair race and saves me having to go and find a car before the race can even start and hope it's the right kind. Races aren't done well in IV imo, don't know why they'd make them so much easier and also give them a tiresome number of laps instead of just making the routes longer. The only plus IV races have is that because the driving, city and radio is awesome it can be a fun excuse to just drive around. I'd prefer if they were more of a challenge.

I think races might be the only GTA feature that I consider to be done worst in IV lol. At least the TLAD bike races are pretty good.

Fair enough, but I still don't like them for that reason. I don't have an issue with the races and routes themselves. They're generally well designed, but like I said for a game people laud for its "freedom" it's just an odd design choice. I think it should be up to the player what vehicle they want to use and not the game.

Want to use an Infernus? Good. Want to use a Moonbeam? Go ahead. In most circumstances personally speaking I don't even like using the fastest car to get the upperhand. It's more rewarding beating faster cars IMO using some sh*tty family sedan or something. After I beat all the races in San Andreas I never saw the point doing them again because I find challenge in mastering different classes of vehicles since they all have their unique strengths and weaknesses.

As easy as GTA IV's are I like them because I like the driving physics and they're always randomised with different opponents. I can also pretty much use anything I like (with the exception of law enforcement vehicles, but that make sense). Sometimes I use a Faggio for the lolz up against Supercars.😉

Can't remember anything specific or recent, but probably yeah.😛

I agree the races in GTA IV are way too easy though.

Why they devalued the performance/sports/super/hyper cars.

Getting one of them was like a rite of passage for 2D and 3D games. In V? Have a supercar on the second mission. Hell, have a sports sedan for two of the protags personal vehicles. But why stop there? Now 70 percent of the traffic will be them.

I agree. Seeing those type of cars in GTA V so commonly ruins their appeal.

I'm sure you'll appreciate this, but remember the first time getting behind the wheel of a Diablo Stallion? Or a Cuban Hermes in Vice City? Hell receiving the Infernus from Bernie in GTA IV is pretty cool since supercars/hypercars are really uncommon..

I've always found it dd though at the start of GTA V Franklin's complaining about the lack of money and wanting to get out of the hood yet he's driving a mid level performance sedan. For believablility he should've been driving some sh*tbox because I don't know too many gang bangers that roll around in Dodge Chargers while apparently they're "strapped for cash".

It doesn't fit his lifestyle IMO and would've made more sense if he got something like that after he moved into the Vinewood Hills home.

Michael's Tailgater I have no problem with since it suits his lifestyle and where he's up into in life at that stage.

Plus because no cars have any real weight to them and the driving is dumbed down so much most ordinary cars will accelerate to ridiculous speeds and basically handle like sports/super cars as well.

Ah, I remember finding that Banshee in GTA III in Portland. It was the go to vehicle when you needed something fast. And once you hit Staunton Island you encountered more cars you couldn't find in Portland.

Vice City did invert it to be fair. East side had way more glamorous cars while East side had the crummy cars.

But the main point still stands, getting into the fastest car in a GTA game should feel like you earned it. You've gotten the hang of the controls with the slower cars and now it's time to test your control of speed.

Making backflips impossible on a motorcycle in GTA SA

Not fixing the parachute glitch when landing and using the wrong animation in GTA SA

Not having the ability to buy cars legit in the 3D universe

Car despawning still existing

-Making the FBI into the "FIB"
I mean I'm okay with the NOOSE I guess, it reminded me of CTU from the TV series "24" because it's not so clearly a copy of a real organization. But even though the GTA universe has a ton of fictional copies of real things, turning the FBI into the "FIB" is quite immersion breaking to me. Tons of action movies have the FBI in it, they should have kept it imo.
And yah I know maybe they did it because "FIB" means "to lie" and Rockstar likes wordplays but still...

I think it's more immersion breaking the other way round since it's so unusual for GTA to have real names of things in it. Changing it to FIB (with the bonus fib/lie wordplay) made it more in keeping with GTA.

Yeah now that I think about it, I think you are right. I still had my mind on GTA 3 where it was still more plausible that the game world existed along with the real world, but by the time they reached GTA IV they already had a fictional version of almost everything.

Personally, complete fictionalization of everything actually sort of breaks immersion for me.  I feel like R*’s fictional brands and real world entities can co-exist.. imo that maximizes immersion.  That’s one thing I miss of the 3D era.

I do prefer FBI to FIB.  FBI sounds authoritative when you think of the connotations that come along with those letters.

Why a 3D and HD universe barrier ? Why?

I mean there isn't really. When they feel like breaking the barrier they do (eg Lazlow in every game, same cities, same brands, 3D era easter eggs in HD games etc). I think it just gives them the freedom not to have to keep continuity with the earlier games when writing the new ones if they say there's a barrier, they don't want to be tied down/limited with the storytelling by having to keep the events of every game in mind.

-Why the food vendors like hotdog stands in GTA V aren't interactive. They're scattered all over Del Perro Pier so I don't get why they can't be used as an alternative of gaining health like GTA IV. Surely it wasn't too hard to program the interaction in?

-Mission exclusive content. It doesn't matter which game I just don't get it. I know R* probably do it to make these features feel unique that we can only use them one time, but it still feels like a kick to the balls. I wanted to use the JB 700 from "Deep Inside", but was pissed when we couldn't obtain the weaponised version. This also goes for locked interiors.

Cjrememberthat

Stupid ass bullet damage they removed, in Gta LCS, enemies die with 2 M16 bullets, 1 revolver and 3 at its max with 9mm pistol or uzi type of weapons, now in IV and V, they keep shooting at  you still after you shot them 8 times, this ain't about realisim, it looks stupid as hell, imagine how amazin it'd look if they die the way in Gta LCS in Euphoria of GtaIV
