Lack of stuff from GTA IV (like pool, bowling, restaurants etc.) in GTA V.

Pool is the one I really don't get seeing as the Yellow Jack Inn has a pool table and Darts is right next to it. WTF? Was it really that hard just to program it in?

It's like the food vendors. In GTA IV these are interactive, but in GTA V they're not for some strange reason. Things like this really grind my gears about GTA V. Things that SHOULD function, but don't.

They added solo darts in online only 4 years after launch!!! Hype

True. What's with all the obsession that people have with bowling? Is it always attributed to that one single line which Roman says? I don't even think I've heard of many people who actually like to bowl.

Food vendors were a neat addition tbh. GTA V's eating system feels a bit too rushed. They could have made it more life like by adding more functionalities.

It's one of my favourite pasttimes personlly.

In one of my GTA IV saves I had over 2 hours of bowling time.😉

Hopefully I won't see bowling again in this series. It was good for nothing but a meme. If it actually was sacrificed for Tennis it was a good idea. Hopefully R* do some better activities for the next game as well instead of bowling. Though not having pool pissed me off.

Also how they changed the Manana from a compact coupe to a landyacht, the Esperanto from a 70's landyacht to a painfully generic 80's sedan, etc. etc. etc. Why??

Cars go through design changes, and a lot of American cars typically were being downsized in the 70's and 80's due to increased safety regulations and the oil crisis. I don't think it's an odd decision to have cars in GTA reflect this. big > bigger >biggest >small > compact is typically the cycle.

The Buccaneer did the same. First gen (GTAV) was a muscle car in the mid-late '60s, then the muscle car fad died and the luxury car fad took place where it turned into a landyacht (early-mid '70s). Then the oil crisis and increased safety regulations happened and the car was removed off the market as it was too big (even for American standards).

Generation one of the Esperanto was a landyacht in the '70s, then got downsized into a luxury sedan in the '80s for generation two, before being taken off the market in the '90s.

Manana was a landyacht in the '70s, then got downsized into a compact coupe for the '80s and early '90s before being turned into a compact sports car in the mid-late '90s and then taken off the market in the early '00s.

Then couldn't the Manana in IV have been named the Bucaneer (or at least Esperanto because they're nearly the same sort of car)

I know it's an autistic thing to bitch about but still

Why would it be named the Buccaneer when the buccaneer already exists in the game? Sure Gen 1 of the Esperanto and Gen 1 of the Manana share similarities, but in series lore they're different cars.

I actually think the Manana in IV/V fits its name and original joke quite well. It's a slow as f*ck car that will still get you there tomorrow.

- Scrapping rampages in SA

- Changing the controls in VC, then again in SA, and then again in IV

- Adding a phone that in itself uses half a dozen of buttons

- Not having demos

- Generally being very secretive about everything that they do and not openly engaging with their fans

- Making cars in V virtually indestructible by not blowing up and allowing for them to flip back on their wheels

- Scrapping jetpack, countryside and planes in IV

- Clothes buying system in IV/V - you can only buy from SOME stands, not from all that have clothes on them

- GTA online. All of it.

Monetizing a game that is still in a f*cking BETA.

*cough* RDR2 *cough*

In relation to GTA, I would have to say the constant change of controls. I swear, every other game had new controls. Weird.

Why does a sequel always forget at least one thing present in the previous game? In GTA 2 there are no boats or motorcycles. There is also no blood effect or proper weapon sprites. In GTA 3 there is no dual wield pistol or silenced smg. You also can't put oil slicks, mounted guns, or armor on vehicles. Nor is there a fact or burp button. In GTA Vice City there aren't detachable limbs (really? the skeleton system is why you can't do it again?) nor is there a crane to pick up cars, vehicles locked behind dealerships, or an ak and there is downgraded ai. In GTA SA there aren't the beach ball minigun, the 50$ good citizen bonus the m60, robbing stores, 25% extra health from hookers, newspapers, raindrop and blood screen effects, one player rampages, and probably more. GTA LCS... yeah NOT going to even try with that one but I do get it sense it was a psp game but really no eating or anything? GTA VCS there ain't good citizen awards again, parachutes (would have perfect in "Taking The Fall"), climbing only in water... for some reason) and probably a few other missing. In GTA 4 there is SO much it's not worth getting into but how does removing cops with baton "realistic"? Why in gta tbogt there is no clothes stores? There are so many things removed in gta 5 I might as well create a link in gta online there is no pratfalling, working cable carts or animals, and less trash on the floor.

Why is there no option to play without a radar without disabling the health bar? I don't need a radar and never did. But every game I'm forced to have it clog up my view because there is no option to get rid of it without disabling other HUD elements, such as the health.

Congratulations! RDR2 DIDN'T DO THAT!

III/VC:

-Not letting you switch to fists during Rampages so you can sprint during Heavy Weapon Rampages.

SA:

-Not using Bayside for Missions.

IV:

-Ruining New York's iconic statue for a cheap joke.

-Not letting you hangout with Bernie

-Acting like an errand boy for the entire game to earn money for spending on nothing.

V:

-*promises bringing back cool 3D era weapons*

FORGETS FLAMETHROWER+CHAINSAW.

Don't agree with this one. It's GTA!

On pc I agree but on console its almost the same throughout the 3d or hd universe

Yeah. It's beyond old at this point that they even made "69" missions in GTA V.

Seriously why is it EVERYWHERE in GTA SA

why in v paramedics bully the protag?! theyre supposed to save ffs
edit: why they bully anyone?!

Isn't it a running joke in the series that paramedics basically suck? They run over a dozen of people just to get to the place.

Well i thought they don't have the time nor nerves to be careful not to run them over or they're so much focused on one or several ppl that they dont notice others aka accidentally, i mean in 3d universe they revive them so it's kinda weird that they're literally useless in hd. But you know what i watched recently a video where mike hits a regular ped then lure them to ambulance van to hit doors then medics come out and fight both peds and mike and i must admit it was hilarious, however this never happened to me coz i never thought of that idea for some reason :p

actually in the iv era they revive peds that weren't BRUTALLY killed such as headshot or falling of a 100 meter building or were in a exploding car etc. in gta 5 they are completely useless however...

-Lack of mobile radio. I could understand that back in the 2D/3D era as mobile phones didn't exist or were very primitive, but it makes no sense for it to be missing in V what with all the smartphones everyone has. Trainers can even enable the functionality, so I see no reason why Rockstar couldn't.

-Why can't emergency vehicles turn on the radio? They have radios, just as real police cars do. In IV and V you can even see radios modeled in the interior.

-Adding "You Tool" to V, but not making it a place where you can buy the melee weapons alas GTAVC tool shops.

-Not having the user radio on consoles. Why not? They can store MP3s can they not?

-Not fixing the bug with Independence and Self Radio where a song may play twice.

-Advanced handling flags. I've heard that it's their way of fixing the curbing bug, which only makes me laugh. Maybe if Rockstar didn't f*ck up the physics so badly on release they wouldn't have to spend the last year trying to slowly trying to add bandages to counteract the issues. They finally toned down the flip over prevention system BS from early versions of V.

Exactly, they revive them and take them away in the ambulance. Plus you can call them and they'll come over and restore your health (after telling you to have your credit card ready and charging almost $1000, nice jab at US healthcare). From the most useful GTA paramedics of all time in IV to completely useless in V

That's another thing, in V peds are either healthy and alive, or dead. One punch? Dead. Shot in leg? Wait 3 seconds and there's that stupid flash and they're dead. In IV peds/enemies could be completely incapacitated but still alive, groaning and making comments while lying on the floor or just lying twitching with their eyes open, and they might slowly succumb to their injuries OR get up and hobble away OR get saved by a paramedic and taken to hospital. The atmosphere is so much more alive with a mix of dead and dying and injured during/after a shootout in a mission or freeroam instead of just dead bodies. You can complete a mission only incapacitating most of the enemies instead of killing them all, with non-lethal shots and shooting weapons out of their hands, or choose to finish them all off. In V they took away all these cool variations and it's just if a ped falls on the floor due to any injury they're either instantly dead or dead in moments and in a mission the only option is killing everyone.

Hmmm nice bike

Not setting GTA and RDR in the same universe, despite easter eggs in both games implying that they would be in the same universe (the book in Franklin's house, and then in RDR2 there's a guy who's strongly implied to be the founder of the Epsilon program). It almost feels like two groups of writers or developers were pulling in two different directions with that one, like half wanted it set in the same universe (hence, the Epsilon reference) and the others didn't (the real life equivalents of the GTA cities being mentioned). It's not the most huge thing, but it's something that I nonetheless thought would have been cool to have.

GTA, Bully, and Manhunt are all in the same universe despite being radically different games from each other. There's no reason why Arthur and John and everyone else couldn't be running around doing stuff 100 years before Niko arrives to America. The references wouldn't even have to be huge, either. Just little things that imply that they share a universe (sort-of like Saints Row 1 & 2 connecting to the Red Faction series, the first one was set 64 years after SR2).

Scrapping the fight club from TLAD and delaying it to TBOGT. It's more appropriate for TLAD's theme, especially since it's metalhead-riddled. I mean, the L.C. Cage Fighters plays LCHC in the background and hires redneck gangsters for security, whom some of them are already supporters or prospects of The Lost MC. Not to mention that both The Lost and the Angels of Death commit in. Johnny even mentioned that he likes brawling.

TNT Goes Boom!

GTA Vice City: What was the point of Hilary King? Forcing me to go through that racing mission in order to recruit him, yet Tommy's still the one driving everyone to the bank? Then he comes in after the cops have come, acting all badass and then dying because reality ensues? Then Tommy himself has to drive everyone out and away from the cops? Was he worth it just to make some references to Miami Vice and Heat?

GTA IV/EFLC: Who thought siding with Playboy X over Dwayne would be the better option? Was there some lesson to be learned? The winking and nudging was as obvious as it gets in terms of the rewards and just the differing characterization between both parties.

GTA V: Why was the function to switch shoulders not in the game? I can think of so many instances where switching shoulders would have been beneficial. Same with crouching. What was the point of dialogue boost? To me it's practically useless since I wear headphones while gaming and I can hear the dialogue just fine. If anything, why wasn't there an option to lower/mute the dialogue volume? You can make everything else go quiet but the dialogue which seems more odd than the other way around. I sorely miss the functions to shove people freely and throw random objects.

GTA Online: Why can players use only the iFruit phone? I'm an Android user, I would have liked to use the Bittersweet instead for better immersion. The animations for holding the phone not being present I can understand due to the memory limitations in the seventh-gen version of the game, yet the PC and eighth-gen versions are stuck with the same sacrifices? Pulling the phone out prevents you from using guns anyway, so you're already at a disadvantage with or without the animations. Why is Martin being used to send invites for adversary modes and races? Why were new contact missions (Disptach) even made featuring him when he's had nothing to do with the game in years? Does someone in the dev team have a hard-on for him or something? The story mode turned him into "a fat f*cking joke" halfway through and his appearance in Online did nothing to change that. I hope he doesn't return in GTA VI unless you put him in some news blurb saying he got beaten to death by someone with a golf club or something. (FORE!)

Everything they've done regarding GTAO and RDO.

I just... I can't

If they keep it out of single player, then I'm all good with it. I prefer single player and very rarely play online. Would've played GTA Online often if my friends were online and I think I've played Red Dead Online twice. Not complaining as much as I'm just not interested lol.

However, it's case of why fix what isn't broken. GTA IV Multiplayer and RDR Multiplayer were a blast with or without friends and economy and so on.
