R* Decisions You Couldn't Understand

Seriously. Probably a cynical ploy to get people signed up to the service.

Duh. They wanna control people like puppets.

But there's so many fixes and mods for the offline version of GTA V, I'm sure the custom plates feature is a mod somewhere out there.

Why the hell did Rockstar decide to make the only way you could change your license plates in V/Online is through the ifruit app. This is a small but stupid ass decision because eventually servers will shut down and your version of the game will stop working that's already gonna happen with the 360/PS3 versions later this year. Also that app is old as f*ck I don't think they've updated it and there may come a time where it will be removed from the app store.

Should have just made it in an game feature at LS Customs and not the complicated bullsh*t they decided to do with that stupidass app.

Oh yeah the same sh*t with the Bawsaq only being available when your console is online I don't even think that sh*t works anymore.

I remember that app. I got it just after GTA V’s release. You could also use it to  train Chop? (though I don’t see the point really).

Seemed pretty gimmicky to me anyway.

Anytime a product tries to market a gimmicky little side thing as part of the product I shrug.

Bruh, my Chop always had an empty happiness meter because apparently it takes an app to do anything about it.

It's a sad situation when even single player has some online-dependent functions. Did you ever need to use Bawsaq to get rich through the assassinations?

As I understand using the stock market in GTA 5 is pretty optional. Fairly certain the BAWSAQ does not require online connectivity.

Every GTA Stock market and Assasinations guide use Bawsaq to actually make money . For me are stock market worst way to make money in GTA, yet its only way to actually made big money!

Bawsaq requires online connectivity, but LCN Exchange can be used offline for enough money to buy all business properties.

For 100% completion only purchasing 5 business properties is enough though and ~$30M at the end of the game per character is enough for that, so I never bothered wasting time with the stock market at all.

I feel like it's such a half baked idea for single player. If GTA 6 is constantly updated with new stories it might make sense.

Well I wanted to purchase everything, stock market is only way to do.

I found another way to do it at the end of the game if you missed out on doing the stock market thing, but be warned it's extremely time consuming lol. Used the Big Score money to buy a lot of businesses as Michael, and just kept sleeping over and over again (as Trevor since he sleeps the longest) to make weeks of in-game time pass and collect more income until I had enough for him to buy the next one, and repeated. Once Michael's bought all the movie theatres he makes a lot of income each week - have to use him for this since he's the only one who can buy them. Then just kept doing it until he finally had enough to buy the golf course.

I only did it because I was going to be spending many hours watching an entire comedy series on my laptop, so whenever I was watching it I had my Xbox on and pressed the buttons to sleep, cancel, sleep cancel without looking the whole time. Result is I have all the businesses so I can feel like I fully completed the game, and Michael now makes so much income it's actually profitable for him to die since he earns more than the hospital bill for the amount of time closer to pay day dying/respawning hours later brings him.

Damn, I prefer to drive around Liberty City in an old Esperanto and admiring the view than spending time on a stock market.

GTA 5 just feels a bit shallow in that regard lol.

You can actually make money from proper crime, like drug wars or gang wars.

White collar crime is not my cup of tea, ever.

Those were in the expansion DLCs though.

GTA 4 had chop shop and drug running activities in basic form. I think you could rob from laundromats too.

IV needed the fight club from TBOGT. How you gonna have MMA legend Bas Rutten do Niko's mocap fighting moves and not take advantage of it?

The fight club was an extremely interesting feature not gonna lie.

Not adding clothing stores in TBOGT. Especially since it seemed like out of the IV trio Luis was the most fashionable out of all them. The outfits he had were decent but I wanted to customize him a lot more.

Also not being able to wear this outfit outside of the fight club was disappointing.

That V map shape. I didn't mind it initially but they really neutered any hope of an HD San Andreas state. Some say an expansion is possible but any kind of expansion to the north or west sides of this map would look stupid as hell. So is dividing San Andreas into Southern and Northern islands. It doesn't make sense geographically.

Why do all of the clothing stores in SA sell shoes, chains, watches, glasses and hats alongside clothes? I mean, it's a CLOTHES SHOP God-damn it. Not only R* wasted the opportunity of having separate shops (or even street stalls for glasses like IRL) for other types of clothing but what's up with going inside a changing room just to change your watch? Does CJ have some kind of private part growing on his wrist? C'mon.

When I was map making an HD San Andreas I definitely noticed that the shape of the map is kinda odd in the way things are placed.

The Alamo Sea is directly north of Los Santos when in reality the Salton Sea is southeast and really not that close to LA. Paleto Bay appears to completely skip over Ventura/Santa Barbara which are pretty famous areas in SoCal. The desert is so awkwardly placed and its small shape implies it continues well east.

Also you have to tilt the map a bit to get it to fit on the California map. At best, the GTA 5 map only extends as far west as Morro Bay and north as Grapevine. I think a Bakersfield parody exists northeast of Grapeseed.

TLAD was definitely the one that needed it more, it would've suit perfectly with the tone of the episode, more than the other two.

They're now simply calling the isle of Los Santos "San Andreas". This is the whole state and it's ridiculous.

It seems that when you try to make real money in V, it ends up becoming a sleeping simulator.

To be fair you do end up with a decent amount at the end of V and it's my fault that I didn't take advantage of the stock market when doing the assassinations lol. And the ways to make ridiculous money in previous GTAs are time consuming and tedious as well.

Animals making 911 calls in GTA 5, like, why the f*ck??? Even if you shoot a suppressed handgun in the middle of nowhere, you can still get a wanted level.

I'm fairly certain San Fierro and Las Venturas are mentioned at least. Not to mention there is an unnamed capital and a few unseen counties too.

But yeah the map sucks ass in a lot of aspects. Wasted space, cramped city design, small desert, barely any settlements outside of Los Santos, boring countryside, many famous Socal areas missing, we could go on and on.

Nah Johnny got injured in a Bike accident and can't move so well. That's why he runs a bit weird and slow. Seeing him in a fight club would be a disaster.

That's a good way to put it, but that doesn't stop him from fighting multiple hobos in free-roam.

That one has always puzzled me. One of GTA IV's criticisms (even if it doesn't bother me) is the so called "lack" of customisation options. It's understandable why they would've taken out clothing stores in TLAD, but I can't think of any good reason in TBOGT.

As you said he's probably the most fashionable of the three so it's bewildering why it was gutted all together as a feature.
