Cats are supreme

Hikikomori-Yume

Throughout my life I had wanted a pet, a soft and cuddly little lifeform to pour my heart and love into.

Well during my childhood my relationship with non-humans (and humans as well) was very rocky, mostly me encountering psychotic dogs who were misraised by their dumb or uncaring human caregivers.

As for my early encounters with cats, well it was mostly meh because if you aren't friendly with a cat at a young age and frequent enough they won't grow to desire a bond with humans, thus you'll end up with the reclusive hikikomori cat sitting behind the couch, who never desires or welcomes interaction with humanity.

I had a cat around the age of 13, he/she was a lovely little fellow but at that point I wasn't emotionally or intellectually ready to take care of somebody like that, plus I was allergic to the max, like deadly but somehow that all went away and now I can be around cats now.

So with that all said I have a cat once again and this time it has been such an amazing and life changing experience.

For one, this friendship had shown me that not only are rumors about cats being less social than dogs not true but the notions people have come up with in regards to female vs male cats aren't entirely true either.

My neko tomodachi is female, as so far I have been having such a great time with her ... Of course she doesn't like to be petted or held for too long and likes to go off and play on her own ...LIKE A REAL PERSON OMG?! It's almost as if cats and other non-humans are people too and have lives of their own.

This little girl is showing me a whole new side to cats and this is opening me up to feeling more empathetic towards other mammals.

Listening to a Merzbow album will take on a totally new feeling.

How can I become vegetarian without it making me miserable?

Anyways cats > dogs

I wish cats could play video games :(

maybe someday when BCI tech is around you'll be able to hang out and play games with your furfam

Plants > everything, even some humans 😛 i mean think of it: they don't complain, they don't crap, some don't require too much care, you can talk to them as much as you want and they'll listen and feel/comfort you. If you don't have at least one plant in your house or apartment, you're either allergic or you don't understand enough how important they are for your health

Although i like cats more than dogs, i can tell you this new cat i own is a big pita. He constantly whines and wants to cuddle, follows you around and walks around your legs so you can easily trip, hops on fresh, clean, recently washed beds, blankets, pillows, bed covers and duvets, makes mess sometimes like digging out the earth from a plant pot and sometimes licks your fingers when you caress/stroke (dunno if right word) his head and sometimes he even tries to chew my fingers (it usually means he's hungry i think). On the other hand he tends to give up meowing and whining at some point and rests on the couch or near the fireplace, always asks to go out to do his duty or to puke and it's kinda relaxing having him lying besides me or on my feet when i rest on the couch after lunch or when i'm asleep at day (and i tend to feel tired in the afternoon sometimes), also he almost never scratched anyone except when his tail or sometimes even tummy is being touched.

Of course we should not hate cats nor dogs even if we have phobia, but still even tho i fear dogs i'm very aware of how useful they can actually be. They can hunt with you, help you find drugs and clues, help you walk and interact when you're blind etc. Sure cats may not be that useful but their purring can be relaxing and from some articles i read it's even healthy for some people to own a cat, just like it's better to some to own dogs. Also there are certain breeds of dogs who can get along with certain breeds of cats and there are people who like both dogs and cats so if you can own both having them become best friends, you're awesome!

And you know what's even better than cats and dogs?

Crows, ravens, otters, hedgehogs, eagles, capybaras, tapirs, butterflies, field crickets, spiders, dinosaurs, dodos (not dildos!), snails, okapis, bears, bisons...

There around my house are a lot of crying cats so you can take them all and be their master Mr. cat.

Cats are the biggest dickbags in all of the animal kingdom. Imagine a party, right, where every animal shows up. Elephants catering cause if a chef is fat you know his food is top-notch, hippos can pitch in. Zebras are hosting cause they're the best dressed. Giraffes show up early, popping their heads in like "hey what's going on here?" then you got all the boring, normal animals lounging about like lizards and eagles. The dogs show up late, always up to party, sniffing everyones crotch and screaming, "THIS IS MY SONG!" at each song. They're the literal party animal. Then, sulking in the corner, is a cat. He loathes being there. He eyes everyone and judges them and not silently, muttering to himself, "bah, that buffoon of a dog! His IQ must be the same sum of his testies!" Whenever someone comes up to him to chat he slinks away into another room and waits until it's 3AM when everyone has left or passed out drunk to run up and down the hallway at full sprint. For no reason. At all.

Ignore the fact my avatar is a cat.

Nah cats are suicidal. The amount of times I've seen one walking slowly across the road with oncoming cars. It's like they do it on purpose if they see me walking down the street hoping I see them get squished to mentally scar me.

I actually like both dogs and cats. I may like dogs just a slight bit better but yeah, cats are cool too, as are ferrets! :)

that dog saw a pussy proof that the theory dog Vs cat is unfunded

more seriously, there is no superior animal. dog can give their live for you, horses are incredibly deep psycologically, little ants can find their way in a desert. i could list a thousand examples. only thing i'm sure about it's that people that are against animals rights never had any pet

Big cats > domestic cats. And the best big cats are cheetahs in my opinion. Probably more sociable than some\most domestic cats if raised by humans.

That's weird, but then maybe wolves are less sociable than some/most domestic dogs if raised by humans?

Lions and cheetahs exhibit dog-like behavior. Domestic cats are more solitary, much like leopards or jaguars, etc.

Well yeah, domestic cats behaving like dogs are rare, at least i've only encountered 2 or 3 such cats in my whole life, and they didn't act completely like dogs, only had some characteristic behaviours like my cat licking my fingers and arms, but so far he didn't lick my face

I have neither but At least dogs can be useful. Cats are just there to eat, sleep and look cute. Nothing else.

And to calm you down, but only when they're in the mood apparently

cats like most mammals, and even birds behave can show empathy. empathy has nothing to do with the love of each other, it's a scientific explanation of when you realize your chances of surviving/success are greater with the other one. cats being able to hunt even domesticated, that probably explains why they are more independant than dogs. that apart from searching trashbins don't really know how to survive in the wild
