U Carmine
I have no idea. I own black arabian, silver turkoman and rose grey andalusian. All of 'em have maxed out bonding level. I don't really see much point in getting missouri "cow" foxtrotter. I mean, the speed is barely noticeable? Even black arabian could seem faster with the highest acceleration in game. There is an a achievement for getting five different horse breeds in the game. Any suggestions, and why? rusbeckia and A Man Deprived
A Man Deprived
My latest horse is an Appaloosa. He’s got a crazy amount of stamina, I think it’s 9/10’s full? But ultimately the decision is yours. That69Guy, U Carmine and Supern
IamCourtney
I'd say hold off and see if they ever get around to making the differences between horses more meaningfully pronounced. Or just buy two you like the look of, since you aren't into the Trotter and nothing else you can buy is gonna outperform the horses you already have. wehweh01, ALifeOfMisery, Assblaster and 4 others
Van_Hellsing
I am happy with the black Turkoman. The volatile temper of the Arabian got on my nerves. The fox is not worth the difference. Again I can only relate to the story mode. In story mode, the Ardennes still buckles you off at the sight of a cougar. So I don't think it is worth the stable upkeep. Just wait for a new release by Rockstar, whenever that will happen. U Carmine

Chrismads
Why not the brindle thoroughbred? Highest speed and decent temper. And its the best looking horse imo. *edit. Except for Buell^* Not sure my oppinion matters much though since you got the exact opposite horses from what I would buy lol Edited January 29, 2019 by Chrismads Fatsanchez and U Carmine
rusbeckia
check out the black/white leopard appaloosa. It's beautiful, has good temperament and almost full stamina. Had it before I bought the Turkoman and the Black Arabian and somehow feel bad about only using it for such a short time. ALifeOfMisery
I can't recommend the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang highly enough. Stats wise it's not as good as the horses OP already has, but, I've only ever seen one other player riding one and it's an absolute warrior, never bucks me, mine stood it's ground to a charging bear without even rearing. I like it to the point that I'm not looking forward to unlocking the Turkoman. Pressure Drop, U Carmine, Lonely-Martin and 4 others
miahus
You're most likely swimming in money and don't know how to spend it. Look at horses as automobiles, all the ones you own are cars, get a truck for a change, that would be a shire or an ardennes. Or go for a small Volkswagen aka mustang. Just give it the "downside" that it would slap and kill players who got too close and annoyed it like horses kick players. And even have a mind of it's own, ignoring your commands and charging any nearby players while you are still mounted on it. Even in the middle of Valentine, Blackwater, or Saint Denis. 4eyedcoupe
I would have suggested the brindle thoroughbred if you need to buy it now....And I'm guessing in game cash/gold is no issue for you. But if it is, I agree with @IamCourtneyand wait and see. Surely R* will add horses/new horse coats at some point. U Carmine
U Carmine
Thanks for replies. I would prefer to buy things that are gonna prove useful at some point. Like I have black arabian for general use and prefer the black coating. The silver turkoman for gunfights. Or probably free roam stranger missions. And the rose grey andalusian for hunting, like when a pack of wolves, bear, cougar or panther shows up. I noticed that I don't even have a draft horse. What is that supposed to mean? I don't know what work horse is either. If someone could explain what these are, I'd appreciate it. I noticed that silver turkoman is supposed to be a race/ war horse. Silver pinto missouri fox trotter is a race / work horse. Tiger striped bay mustang seems to be a war / work horse. Andalusian is supposed to be a war horse. And the black arabian... it doesn't say what kind of horse that is, except it being "superior". If you press left on d-pad > stables > owned horses > press RB right bumper or R1 on PS4. This is what mine said: Riding horses - Rose grey andalusian Draft horse - None Race horse - Black arabian War horse - Black arabian Work horse - Silver turkoman and black arabian So... black arabian is actually three different types of horses? Race, war and work horse? Like who would have even though that this kitty, skittish black arabian would be a war horse? Is that a joke? Or are we missing something here, that actually makes black arabian great when in combat? Someone mentioned recently that a cougar approached their black arabian horse, and it didn't even buck them off or something. It's hard to believe anyway. Rose grey andalusian isn't supposed to be a riding horse. And it seems to be missing from the war horse category. I'm guessing R* made a mistake here. Even the silver turkoman doesn't appear on war horse category. Anyway, I remember when I had the black chestnut thoroughbred from ultimate edition. And when I was hunting birds and small games. I could put two of 'em on one side of my horse. I couldn't do that for all three horses I own at the moment. I'm guessing only draft horses can have four small games, two on each sides? And apparently, appaloosa is a work horse. The shire, also known as the biggest horse, is also a draft horse. So big horses can carry more small games and more pelts, right? I mean, that might be useful when it comes to hunting birds and small games. For lot more $ money value. There isn't a single multi horse that includes the draft category, so I'm guessing that might come later down the road. I think I'll just hold off instead. rusbeckia
Draft horses will become useful when r* releases the wagons that are already in the game files. You probably can‘t use any other type of horses with wagons is my guess. I‘m interested in putting 4 small game on one horse though. I don‘t think that‘s possibly (anymore). I think this would have been a pretty big thing in all the hunting threads if that were true. U Carmine and Chrismads
ZakeBudek
DO NOT BUY ANY. #1 half of them are broken, level 4 bonding resets, or they come out with no stamina/health repeatedly #2 post-Beta there will be better horses and more options - not sure? find a horse now that you can get to 10 bars of speed, it's not there. Plus R* like to sell us stuff. blackwolfred, Assblaster and Van_Hellsing

CosmicBuffalo
I bought the red ardennes with the gold I earned. It can go through alligator infested water and may not buck you off. It scares much less in the swamps which is why I bought it. The thoroughbred kicks you off nonstop. I wish the Gray Coat was online. Its slow trying to catch scrubs that kill and run...god, why do these children even kill people, to get one kill and run off. Anyways, its not fast, so trying to catch a person who kills and run is a bit of a pain. Lonely-Martin
A mustang... Because it's a mustang, lol. Honestly though, I've no clues and pay little attention to the stats. (IIRC, all horses have the same speed in races, but could be wrong). Just buy the horses you like is all I can offer I'm afraid.
rusbeckia
Btw i think they might have changed something speedwise recently. It seemed to me yesterday that the black arabian catched up pretty quickly to the turkoman of a friend and I actually outpaced him although he was sprinting too. That def wasnt possible a week ago. Supern
I absolutely love the Leopard Appaloosa. Never tried it in story mode, but online I needed a new horse after going crazy using the Arabian. It costs a lot of gold but my plan from the start was using gold on a Appaloosa or the Tiger Striped Mustang and then when I leveled up higher, purchasing the Fox Trotter or Turkoman with cash. I really wanted to try the Mustang aswell, but the Appaloosa has simply been so fantastic that I haven't bought anything new yet. It looks great and is pretty rare amongst other players, for me the size of the horse is perfect. Not to small and not to big. It has pretty decent speed and out of this world stamina. When it comes to the bonding/temperament, which is very important to me, I have to say I'm delighted so far. It's not a war horse, but it's a suprisingly tough cookie. Sometimes it acts like a complete ass, like a different horse entierly, but if I ask it to flee it's usually back to itself when it returns. If not, then switching servers should work. Mine is a female btw. Don't know if gender makes any difference. I'm going for MFT or Turkoman next, but as long as the Appaloosa is making me so happy I'm keeping the cash. In story mode I loved the Fox Trotter and found it better than the Turkoman, but I'm not sury what I'll do in the "online-future". I have a weird feeling that if I bought four horses: two identical Turkomans and two identical Fox Trotters, that when fully bonded, even the same horse could/would act different from the other. Maybe the horses is kinda bugged (lol?) online. ALifeOfMisery, LeopardLove27, A Man Deprived and 1 other
ALifeOfMisery
@SupernI went the other way, got the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang but also really want to try the Leopard Appaloosa before getting a MFT and/or Turkoman. The TSB Mustang is a great horse though, if you can ever justify the 14 Gold Bars to yourself I doubt you'd regret it. IamCourtney
I wonder whether/how much gender matters in terms of temperment. I'm no horse expert but I know ungelded males are prone to being tempermental and harder to manage irl... I just flipped a coin for each new horse and both came up male for me so I have no frame of reference. I haven't found either too difficult to deal with on the whole (Red Arabain and Champagne Trotter) but there are definitely occassions where I'm yelling "WTF ARE YOU DOING!?" at the TV... My (male) TSB Mustang is a warrior. It'll complain, but it never bucks, charging predators, surrounded by wolves, in firefights, doesn't matter, never once let me down, even before level 4 bonding. Some of the Gold only horses really tempt me too, but as I don't take part in any structured PvP at all, unless R* get very generous, I'll never get to try them all out, unfortunately. 17 minutes ago, IamCourtney said: I wonder whether/how much gender matters in terms of temperment I know I shouldn't really compare SP to online, but, I had a female TSB Mustang in SP, and while it was reliable, it made far more noise than the male TSB Mustang I now have in online.
