After Playing Over 25 Hours in the Epilogue, Something New Happened to Me

Recommended Posts

I'm still only a couple of missions into the Epilogue Part 2. I've been finishing up some collectible strands and side missions before continuing the story.

Without any spoilers, I was in the Great Plains area of West Elizabeth at the same spot the 'Wreck of the Serendipity' is in RDR1. As I was slowly walking around, New Austin music from RDR1 started playing. It was the iconic electric guitar riffs that would often play when roaming Hennigan's Stead. It only lasted for about 10 seconds.

I just need to know, has this happened to anyone else? It was my first time hearing this soundtrack. I wish I had captured a video of it. This shouldn't be confused with the Mexico music that can be heard in another location, this is entirely different.

It's the same music you can hear on the RDR2 Gaptooth Breach Title Screen (which you can get if you last saved your game in the Gaptooth Breach area, and go to the main title screen).

I heard a NA-themed soundtrack straight out of Redemption playing in the title screen. In free roam, I'm not sure. It's definitely there with a Mexico-themed soundtrack, but they randomly get triggered at certain locations and maybe time of day.  It's an easter egg inserted by developers to remind us of the old days. Nostalgia they say, and music is effective at that.

Heard it too and got an instant boner. Man, RDR 1 ambient music was out of this world.
