Disappointing on one hand but on the other I don't mind cause I wan to grind all skills up to tier 3 and then start saving a sh*t tonne of money. I'm in no rush.

It was a wagon delivery/escort and the map was on one of three lemoyne raiders under a rail bridge near St Denis.

You make a little more money in Gun Rush, but the teams are still lop-sided all the time and that Ned Kelly body armor is still way too overpowered.

 

Gun Rush is still trash, but it pays a little bit better now..

Reading some of these comments I can tell that most of you either weren't around/forgot what GTA Online was like when it first launched, constant disconnections, minimal updates except clothes and weapons (beach bum anyone?) and people hacking left and right (who else claimed a billion dollar bounty?)

 

Give them time to get into stride, its a very different game with different dynamics and problems, new game modes all that stuff will comes... the core of the game needs to work properly first.

GTAO actually had a decent amount of content at launch. RDO doesn't.

This is correct. Gtao had several types of races, last team standing, more then just like 7 missions...  although with the story driven and motion capture of rdo I'll forgive this one, survival mode, just to name a few things. Oh and activities. Darts, golf, tennis, shooting range.

2 months since Online release, 3 months since game release and we’ve had one insignificant Title Update that nerfed payouts for hunting and opened up the Gold store, and only one ”substantial” addition to the game in Gun Rush - which is, well, an adversary mode basically. And we just loooove our adversary modes!

 

”...Title Update scheduled for the coming MONTHS.”

(plus we all know; by ”days” R* mean weeks, by ”years” they mean ”decades”, ”months” could well mean ”within a year” etc)

 

It’s like they haven’t planned none of this at all, for a game that’s been in development for 8 years.

 

There’s just so much wrong with all of this I don’t even know where to start anymore. Good thing there are other good games out there.

I didn't even enjoy it lol.

 

Slow & Steady 3, Horseman 3, Peak Condition 3 and Never Without One 2  on horseback using Lancaster with Express ammo and this level 8 scrub must have thought they were Action Man using their new Varmint rifle thanks to YouTube.

 

I was lucky, I really do suck at PvP, anyone half competent around my level and all my pelts would have been lost.

I know right!? it's like the guy who managed all that earlier is suddenly ..."gone"...and the new guy in charge just doesn't have what it takes.

It also had free aim servers where you could actually have fun playing pvp instead of this one shot varmint rifle crap we have now.

This game died months ago. Honestly if you couldn't see it then and uninstalled it you have more days left in your life than common sense. It is NEVER going to be finished/good/worth playing. Never ever, any time you put in it now is a total waste.

Nice, this is pretty much the build I’m going for/using right now (apart from Never without one, I’m only lvl 25 yet).

 

Also I can totally relate to your experience. I try to hold my own and not be bullied, but PvP isnt my thing really. I also dont enjoy it and tend to avoid this situation whenever I can. It feels good when you sucessfuly defend yourself tho, even better when you get to teach some manners to random griefers. Nice!

RDO will end up being something worth playing eventually, but whether that's something PvE players want to play remains to be seen.

I enjoyed it even less today. Going to the Strawberry butcher again, player came charging up behind me as I dismounted, had no time to activate the sale, so I killed them. Got a PSN message "why? I only wanted to use the butcher, lost 3 star pelts, thanks". Felt like sh*t, they didn't shoot, weren't camping, I just didn't want to risk my own pelts. Didn't really have the heart to play after that so I logged off.

 

As for the ability load out, I've found it to be a decent mix of offence and defence as I spend almost all of my time on horseback. I'm still planning on getting Slippery Bastard up to the 3rd tier after I hit level 50, so I can swap it out with Slow & Steady depending on whether I'm planning on fight or flight. I'm pretty much done with ability cards after that, unless something new and OP comes along.

I only bought 1 microtransaction so far, that was on RDO launch day...…. 25 golds for £3.99 (I wasn't going to ignore that deal) plus we then got 15 golds a week later.

I so want to love RDO, but it honestly has been such a disappointment so far.  They started out with giving status updates every week, and it sounded so promising.  Turns out they don't care about having any legitimate content in the game, and they just want people to play PvP with their BS auto-aim garbage.  I'm losing hope very, very fast.

Sad to say but you are completely correct. Played today for 30 minutes to get the gold bars, got griefed while hunting, signed off. Pretty much done with this game, feel dirty playing it, feels like watching a crap movie on Netflix you should abandon after 10 minutes but end up watching all the way.

I haven't really got their alert yet. Anyone knows if they said when this screen notification and 5.00 gold would be distributed? I had like 172.00+ gold, haven't really noticed if it increased by 5.00.

I have tons of fun with this game. Never tire of the setting. It lacks content and it's not how I would've designed it -- and I'd have managed it better (hell anybody with half a brain would've done better) -- but I'm a huge fan of westerns so I can't help but be passionate about it. I role-play with it, all by myself usually, never grind for levels (don't care about my level), and I don't replay missions, I just have a great time tending to my character's routine, hunting & fishing, taking trips on occasion for whatever reason, coming up with things to do out of the abundance of my imagination. I've always been good at entertaining myself so I have no problem having fun. But mostly like I said, because I really love this setting, having my own characters, each with his own backstory & motivations. I suppose for those with limited imagination it is boring AF, but even as it is at the moment, for me this game is a dream come true. And I realize a ton more content will eventually come.

Not the combat, no. I meant ‘feel good to defend myself’ as in “I’m doing something other than fight randoms and someone approaches me with weapons on-hand” type of situation. Feels good to be able to stand up for myself. I’m not trying to be better than anyone here, I’m just minding my business, hanging around with my character in this awesome virtual world.

 

Sometimes yeah I may be in the mood to fight a little, why not; but I know how and when to pick fights (as in, I dont shoot fishermen in the back). But its not something I actively pursue in this game (or in GTA for that matter). I enjoy hunting and exploring lots more that mindless combat.

 

Most of the time I’m just hanging around enjoying the game world, just as I did in GTA, hanging around and driving my cars. I know some people just dont get this mindset but here it is.
