So just five gold bars for playing, when I wasn't even given the last fifteen gold bars as a bonus, and updates to Gun Rush. When will the wanted levels for attacking players and the bounty system be implemented into free roam? Or better yet, invite only lobbies.

Logging in to get your gold shows them people are logging in, shows them people are logging in to play, shows them what they are doing is acceptable

 

Like they're using spreadsheets to determine data, rather than listen to what anyone is saying

 

I don't think anyone should log in just to get the five gold

Lol If telemetry's the main way that Rockstar determines the game's future direction, then RDO almost deserves to fail.

 

I'd just get the gold and get the heck out of there, surely they have some data that tells how long players are logged in, right?

They've stated that that's what they do, they get all the info and use it to determine what "works" and what "doesn't" and then base their updates accordingly.  Why do you think the Oppressor 2.0 exists? The majority rules.

By that time I will have moved completely on from this. Timing is very important. They should have delayed RDR2 until RDO was in a state they were proud of.

Releasing an unfinished game will kill you in this industry. 

New games are coming out left and right.

IMO SP RDRII was fine for its release, but they should have padded interest and polished the game with some small SP mission DLC/free updates December-March so RDO would have in been in a more complete form for its first impression. 

 

I totally agree, lots of attractive games in 2019 that will kill RDO if Rockstar doesn't finish it soon- Rockstar thought they could chase the online unicorn while ignoring SP DLC content, and now they may get neither.

Still better than GTAO updates.  Log in to get a shirt.  Oh yeah, the game is still wrecked with all the bogus stuff we added.  I am enjoying the simplicity of the game.  I am still learning the things.  Gun Rush match making was terrible and needed fixing.  I wish the would just drop GTAO already and put the focus here, but apparently people spend 3k on shark cards so thats not gonna happen.

Also, whoever said they got the $1 XBox gamepass...yeh, similar boat here.  Have a whole library of PS+ titles that I still haven't touched, and I just started playing Steep a few nights ago and damn it is fun.  Limited but still fun.  Needs more tricks.

It's like they're actively trying to kill their own game, it's almost impressive how incompetent their handling of RDO is, we have a "Beta" that has hardly any content, gets miniscule updates at a glacial pace, is riddled with bugs they clearly aren't even trying to fix, has a character creator with mostly ugly presets that severely limit our options if we want a decent looking character, and has a microtransaction store that actively discourages them from making any big changes to how the game's economy works or doing things like character wipes. This isn't a Beta, it's just an empty husk of the singleplayer with other players in it, they clearly forced out an unfinished online and hoped calling it a Beta would keep people silent about its bugs and lack of content, they should have waited longer to launch it, launching it like this and failing to make any meaningful updates could end up killing RDO before it even officially begins.

Gun rush match making is still trash.

 

But you all are Gun Rushing to judgment. 

 

I just played large show downs still full.  Freemode still full.  This is a time to rank your character.  I still have just over 40 levels to go.  This lackluster status update is a let down sure, but in comparison to the GTAO garbage the past of few months/years.  It almost refreshing to at least be given hope that they are "trying to fix" stuff in the game.  Even if their fixes take longer than I think they should take.

How can I do the daily challenges if I got disconnections all of the time?

 

Right now I can't even do like a treasure map without disconnecting 3 times at minimal.

 

And the horrible thing is: the search area is mostly on the other side of the map and each disconnect is putting me back at my starting point, so I've to travel the same distance multiple tines...

 

Same for going to the general store or the gunshop, it's nearly impossible...

 

I'm not worried about griefers, half of the time a player gets near me, I'm getting disconnected.

 

So I just avond other players, like buying stuff from the handheld catalog and getting them at a post office or train station.

 

Travelling in free roam is nearly impossible because the reconnect after the disconnect putting me right back where I left off.

 

So I use the missions to get where I need to be in free roam. Like for example I want to go to the fence? I do the Kerosine-mission or the one in Van Horn and after that I spawn near the fence.

 

Even then I have disconnects, but at least I start closer to it after I reconnect...

 

Hunting? Yeah right, every pelt or carcass is gone because of the disconnect within minutes. And with all these players hanging around near the butcher a disconnection is nearly impossible to avond...

^ If it is that bad on your end, I would commend you check your router settings and all that and also keep an eye on what come as a result from nat type after a connection test, maybe try opening ports ect. Do you play wi-fi ? Are other people in your home using tv or streaming devices at the time you play ? This can cause plenty issues.

 

Now, I wont argue, disconnects are pretty frequent but what you stated sounds pretty insane.  Disconnects seem to be extremely random at times, but all the time ? I can't quite believe this is entirely true. 

 

Edit: I have a 5.2 mbps down and just about 1 upload speed (which is pretty weak in todays day and age) and live in a pretty secluded area on the land and I have usually maybe 1 or 2 disconnects a day, sometimes none and can play for several hours in the same session.
