However if I played alone and got unlucky with servers of griefers while I was trying to fish or something I  would get pissed, but to say there is no reason for it is moronic.

Exactly, there is no denying that you are way more likely to get jumped by some wannabe tryhard just riding alone when you are doing an activity that basically says "easy kill" that's just how some people choose to play the game and a reality you have to deal with when jumping into online games. Some people will be jerks but being naive out there is your true enemy.

Me, I can't even get mad at it anymore honestly if I get killed like a scrub. Because all things considered, maybe I was at fault for exposing myself and being vulnerable in the first place. You gotta know your surroundings, and have backup if possible or simply haul ass if it get's too tense. But don't cry if you get smoked randomly because you were fishing in the bay next to Blackwater in a crowded lobby with gunshots ringing around each corner. It is basically sending an invitation to some a-hole to come n' say hello and put a bullet to your dome.

Now, I would like to point out (before some accuses me of being a griefer because of my above statement, for whatever f*cking reason... ) that I would also favor in options of separate and friendly lobbies and that activities like fishing (mainly) should ghost you for a short time being perhaps. But at the same time you can't really expect everything to be handed on a silver platter and just be cruising easy peasy trough this world without a worry if you are in a PUBLIC session. R* made their intentions and game design in terms of earning money very clear with GTA Online buisiness's and whatnot. You WILL have a risk factor and the chances of seeing that change completely now with Red Dead Online are close to zero. Maybe these blip options they talked about will also give us better chances to defend our deliveries or anything else might come in the future. We shall wait and see.

So, for the time being we all gotta be careful and aware, and hope that eventually,  R* will give people that enjoy PvE over PvP their own sessions some day. I really hope this happens because I can understand all the lonewolfs out there or them folks who just wanna play with friends and NO ONE else being bothered by the current state of the game.

Hey you can have your PvP freeroam, my opinion is not an ultimatum about the game for everyone. It is presenting an alternative. Imagine the inverse, if you would be gutted with no PvP, some of us, the majority it usually appears, are gutted without it. With no PvE option, it is PvP all the time for everyone. Treasure maps, O'Driscolls, even running a stranger mission, that is PvE. Running around with your posse, PvE. That another player can possibly attack during a stranger mission, that could simply be an opt in on their part. Why should we have to learn

Quote

a dozen ways to avoid other players (or discourage them going after you) be it fast travel, session hoping, communicating with the potential "threats", displaying strenght in numbers ect.

Because you know very well players spawn kill you exiting a mission, going somewhere, traveling, standing still, etc., all they need is the opportunity. I know there are mostly friendly players, and playing in a posse, people avoid you. I've seen people actively avoid me when I am solo, just because I was heading towards them. I stand by no need for PvP freeroam - there is nothing you gain, there's no trading, no useful interaction with other players, only the gunfight experience, which is lame af compared to a showdown/deathmatch. Just like GTAO. Spawn points suck, people running away suck, running out of ammo that costs you money sucks. It is simply, a distraction, an interruption to your game. You like interruptions, ok. Most people don't.

I'm pretty chill about all of it, spawn kill me, oh well game goes on I didn't lose anything. If I feel like it, I show you how you suck at the game. Why do I have to do that? I can take out anybody 3 times in a row - because then I stop because it is boring af - except actual experienced players, then I'm evenly matched, and that is boring af. No winner is decided, to prize is awarded, it is a waste of time. Time+time because it wastes your money. So I say PvE freeroam.

Other players are not content, unless they choose to be. You run a stranger mission, you know you might be attacked. You stand still for 5 seconds after a mission, how have you opted in? 10%? 9/10? I have to spend 10% of my time dealing with pricks? That's what I don't get, even from GTAO, why should visiting a store have to become a 30 minute gun fight... or a run away, new session, restart? No, I dictate my gameplay, which with no options, means for me a limited run for RDO. I'm level 92. Level 100 will be just a pointless milestone.

RDO needs content, and options. It is a pretty pathetic showing.

Welcome to online gaming, where people are entitled to play the way they feel and have the power to f*ck with you, sorry if that is a real revelation... Mate, what else can I say ?

I certainly dislike PvP as much as you in this game (mainly because, no free aim) and I rather have more PvE content than useless Battle royale modes with goons running ability Terminator cards. Now the thing is, is there any point going on arguing about this ? I made my point more than clear and so have you.

In the end R* are the sole decision makers and they have the privilege to do whatever they like. We can get all upset but it will make not the slightest of differences in their agenda and I am repeating it, everything they do and have done so far in terms of "balance" and game design is intentional, so get used to it and suck it up or leave it.

But if you choose to play on and support a game which you obviously are less than impressed with don't complain about the consequences. If I go to the bakery early in the morning and the bread is all burned on the sides mushy in the middle and tastes like sh*t I'm out not returning there.

Yeah, I know the methaphor sucks lol but I'm french so we always have comparisions with bread and stuff;)

Yeah my thoughts exactly, those ability cards are there to counter lazy auto-aim players...

The thing is for some good maxed-out ability cards, you have to play the game to gain money and xp to level up to unlock the good ones. Same goes for stamina, etc...

You can't buy all of this with gold and I  think those cards are a really good reward for the players who actually are playing the game instead of shooting everything and everybody in free roam...

I’ll stop using ability cards when the rat gun gets nerfed. Until then, game on.

Yea the world would feel way to dead if there wasnt other players in it because the cities dont have the same population as the SP. I like having other people around, 9/10 arent assholes. And with how easy the stranger missions are it would kind of be lame if there was no risk to failing the mission, if others dont attack you have a near 0% chance of failing it

I think we agree, I was not looking argue with anyone, but as in online gaming, so goes online forums. I get it, but why should every game be one where you have to deal with some idiot's expectation, even if it is by ignoring it. Why would we settle for a world where every bakery burns the bread? And in fact, if we know one particular bakery has a great bread recipe, if they would just stop burning it - or actually, just make some bread one way for some customers, and keep burning it for others, a little more effort but then everybody loves your bakery. And even when other bakeries catch on, your bakery still has the better recipe.

Certainly the RDO world needs many improvements, more NPCs, missions, strangers, things to do, this is my original point. R* is lazy and makes other players the game, because then it feels like content when you play, as evidenced by everyone who likes it right now. But it doesn't change there are only a few missions and modes now, and very thin NPC population, and a lot, A LOT, of missing things on the map (animals, citizens, travelers, weirdos, stories, crimes, interiors...).

I might be alone here but when I start getting bored I’ll go to a favourite fishing spot. I won’t be fishing though, I’ll be in cover waiting for potential prey.

When a griefing scrub comes charging in for a soft kill and gets their head turned into a canoe you better believe they instaquit the lobby. It’s hillarious.

I usually have to wait for about five minutes max, it’s as if afk players are like crack to these stooges. 😂🤣😂

I want a lobby with knives only.

I want a lobby playing as horses while NPCs ride us.

I want a lobby playing as Black American Bears running away from players.

I want a lobby of zombie 3 eyed laser ravens dropping volatile dynamite sticks on players.

I want a lobby with no trees, rocks, or houses cz cover is cheating.

I want a lobby with DC and Marvel superheroes, but with no superpowers allowed, cz superpowers are cheating.

I want a lobby with Manny Calavera.

I want a different game.
