Reporting griefers - is it worth it?

I've started to report all players who attack me for no reason, using the "disruptive behaviour" option. But is it worth it? Or has R* that option there just for show?

They're perfectly free to do it by the rules of the game. I've never heard of anybody having active measures taken against them by R* for simply attacking others without "justification." So yeah, I reckon the meaninglessly broad Disruptive Behaviour category is just there to cover bases and make people feel better.

I'll believe they actually care about griefers or not, wether or not the invite only sessions are ever unlocked.

In this beta state, really I doubt reports serve any purpose. I wouldn't report everybody that attacks once or a couple times for no particular reason. I feel it starts to get classified as disruptive behavior once the player literally prevents you from following any of your activities like ruining your hunting by messing up pelts on purpose killing your horse and stuff.

Regular reports from the same person over and over again regarding other players probably don't see much attention.  Consider if someone tells you about all of the A-holes they come across all day/every day, you probably would start to realize the person telling you is probably the one who is the A-hole.  I'm not saying that about you, I'm just saying consider how they might discount your credibility for constant reports.

I still report them just in case.

R* can easily distinguish players who have been reported 100+ times because once an A-hole always an A-hole so the behavior pattern is easy to spot.

Sooner or later will be a bad sports lobby where all of them should meet, hopefully with a sh!t bucket as dunce hat

Hopefully it is. Some are such douches. I fully understand if someone is doing a stranger mission and an enemy player tries to attack the cart or whatever the mission is and get the XP and money. But if someone is fishing or minding their own business and keep going after him you are a loser, you dont even get anything for getting the kill. The other day people were trying to shop in valentine and some loser was posted up high on some roof top picking off people when they were trying to shop in the different stores

There is plenty of times where it is for no reason. If someone is trying to finish a mission that is 1000% fine. Because you can get something out of it. But if someone is just trying to fish, or shop in town and you keep killing them for no reason, and they arent firing at you back then that person needs to get a life or be put on a server with other pricks

I'm reporting more people throwing racial slurs and insults at me than anything. Playing a character with darker skin tones is appearantly making you a target for insults, slurs and extra killing.

Though, I am blocking everyone who attacks me out of nowhere, that stops me from being thrown into the same lobby with them.

I alway report people who is glitching into building, god mode, and more.

Reporting does nothing.

 

The better way is get justice yourself. Send them a message. Write down their tag whatever.  However need to to remember and search them. Check it every so often later days weeks anytime in future you see them moseying around go to their profile join session itll put you right near them. Shoot them in head run over tie them up and blow em up whatever you want most times you can easily pop in drop them and join a new session before they even know wtf just happened. Rinse and repeat to your hearts content.

 

Make yourself a hit list griefing griefers is awesome.

i dont report people for killing but i reported some guy yesterday for being excessively racist. i really hope he gets banned for that

Yeah, in GTAO it was worthless, most times griefers used it as way to try and send victims to bad sport.  Probably the same here, but R* havnt not really made clear what punishments are such as bad sport.  There was hint that as a griefer you will be visible but normal players will not be on the map unless you are "near" each other.  Imagine if reporting players could make you visible or something foolish.

Didn't know that you could block players in this game.

 

Edit: Aha, you do it in the, in my case, PSN settings. But does that have effect in game also?

Yeah you block them via the console settings, that stops you from being matched with them in the future.

Some devs turn this off, but it a rarity, I believe For Honor has it turned off so blocking doesn't matter, but not GTAO or RDO. There is no need too, there ares till plenty of people playing

completely disagree. I would like pve servers too, but as it is now, free for all PvP is the norm. Killing you while you are fishing is not griefing, it's playing the game as designed.

Maybe you need to get a life???

I would assume it is all Online content. The blocking is feature is supposed to block you from ever seeing them in anything Online again.

It's hilarious to me that in a game about the Wild West there is outcry for restrictions through a reporting system for killing other players. I understand a bounty system but wtf is wrong with you people?
