Don't worry about it, I'm WAY too addicted to the accrual of wealth. Between collections and daily challenges, I don't do much else. You probably enjoy the game in a more rounded way.

That's interesting. I don't think they'll flip that switch just yet though as they said it would be a last resort if they couldn't fulfill the shared world vision they have. Time will tell.

That sounds about right but hope we get a dlc next week but maybe R* prioritize GTA over RDR because that game need a dlc too!

That's what I tought. Not getting my hopes up but today is the last Legendary, Outlaw pass ended yesterday... There should be some info about the future in today's post... Or not.

I think given the new PC audience it wouldn't create a good impression if it's barebones.

Yeah, no Outlaw pass for PC yet this week. Disappointing. And the patch seems to have broken the game for many.

I could be wrong, but hasn't that line or something very similar been in the game since launch? I remember way back in beta there was evidence that they had the framework for it but removed it from the final (beta) build.

GTA hasn't had an update since July, I think it's pretty unlikely we'll see an RDO update before GTA. I'm guessing GTA update in December as usual and then an RDO update sometime in early 2020

Evidence for PvE or invite only sessions were found in the companion app leaks, yea. We all know it's a flick of the switch for them, but they've spoken publicly about why they aren't wanting to go down that route yet so whether or not they enable them in-game is still a big if.

Seems like such a redundant point on their parts. I get that they have a creative vision for the game, but I don't see how adding the option muddies that vision. Just because we would have the option for invite only lobbies doesn't mean that the shared universe would be killed. Most people would still play in populated lobbies, and the minority of people - maybe majority in this forum but we are a biased sample of the player-base - would have their experience the way they want it.

 

I don't get why things have to only be one way due to a creative vision. More options means more happy players, at no cost to those who don't feel like opting into it.

 

This whole idea they have doesn't even transfer into the game anyway. They want us to be curious or interactive with players, to co-exist. But mostly, its encountering a bloodthirsty maniac who kills and attacks on sight, egged on by the anonymity of online gaming and boredom. That or someone who avoids people totally. Rarely do you actually see a player properly inhabiting their character as a component of the world. Rarely does the presence of another player make the world feel more alive. Usually it just ends up feeling like npc's and players are totally separate entities, contrary to R*'s vision of a world-space inhabited by believable characters.

 

Edit: just thought of a good example of what I am getting at. Think about being in town when there are many players around. The immersive thing to do might be take a stroll in town, walk around and stuff. Yet everyone just sprints to the store and then hightails it out of town or starts a massacre, ruining it for everyone else in town. In an invite only session I could properly enjoy walking around Saint Denis just taking in the sights. Such a thing is not nearly as possible in a full lobby with multiple gunfights going down, players running up to you, waving and then pointing their gun in your face.

Someone else on this forum said this before I'm not sure who said it, but I also wouldn't be surprised one bit if R* took a page from Bethesda and forced Private Sessions to be purchased or somehow tied to the next Outlaw Pass.

I seriously hope they don't go this route. I don't mind if its tied to a battle pass, but a subscription service? Hell no R*.

I don't really disagree with anything you're saying but I can understand it from their point of view. They want everyone to have the same experience, and the experience they want to deliver to players is one where the online free roam has that player provided "wild west" feel to it, as they put it.

 

In theory, I honestly don't have much of a problem with it, with things like defensive mode and parley I don't have an issue with griefers for probably 99% of my time playing and then when it happens due to parley I'm fine after 1 death. That being said, it becomes a problem when playing in these public sessions has an impact on the game experience, aka things like camp spawns and in particular animal spawns being broken.

It's not going to be an 'if' soon given the massive disaster RDRO on PC appears to be for many.

Forced into playing alongside hackers and cheaters who are destroying the experience.

RDRO is hardly the cash cow GTAO is, Take Two shareholders better prepare for rough times because RDRO on PC will tank hard soon if players cannot enjoy the game without modders and cheaters.

And since it is essentially nigh impossible to stop and ban all cheats and cheaters, the only option is to allow invite/private sessions or just let the game turn to sh*t and die on PC.

 

Haven't even touched on the public sessions and camps not working as yet another reason why private/invite servers are required. I don't touch trader role as a result unless I magically find myself on a server with 10 people and even then pitching a camp in a region with LITERALLY 9 spare slots, doesn't actually pitch the camp sometimes.

 

Like why not? I just went to 9 different camp locations, all empty, and I said pitch a camp and the game refuses...like it's crowded out there..... BS

I was actually expecting them to fix the spawn issues, before taking this game to PC, after letting the console plebs do the beta testing for a year. To see they haven't addressed any of them and ported it close to 1:1 including all the issues, is even more disappointing and a big fat "we don't give a sh*t" sign. 

I'm really not up to swallowing all the mess in this game and deleted it from my console and, as long as they don't fix these spawning issues (and a good few others), it's not gonna be reinstalled again, nor am I gonna buy any other Rockstar game again. I'll take my money to another developer instead.
