Can I just say, I REALLY do not care about the Legendary Animals. It is a terrible form of dripfeed and it makes me despise the "weekly updates" becuase you know its gonna be another tedious mission where your only reward is the pleasure of spending a fortune on another animal head jacket.

If they actually put any thought into the clothing it might have been interesting, where are my Bison Duster coats? Furry Poncho's? Animal skin cloaks? Gloves with alligator teeth on the knuckles? Genuine Moose fur chaps?

At the time you had the choice between showdowns large and small, and I think small team shootouts (Tumbleweed and Bolger Glade) were still available. 

 

Anyway, it took one and half year to bring back one of the most popular showdown mode... Why ?

I've said it before, not only is dripfeeding a cheap way of attempting to make an update look more substantial than it is (you're not fooling anyone R*), but R* have been far too light on content in updates to make the dripfeed even remotely worthwhile.

 

R* should have dumped the entire update on day 1, let players go at their own pace and accepted that they'll get rinsed on social media every week.

 

They're getting rinsed on social media every week anyway, but at least they wouldn't look quite as ridiculous as when they pretend that one mission, which only took me between 4 and 5 minutes to complete, is a week's worth of new content.

I haven't tried seeking any out, I've come across a couple in the wild just passing by on Trader Sells. But in all honestly not one part of this last DLC was actually interesting or entertaining to me.

Yeah, balloons would be great to admire the map and they are already in the game. Would they be a griefing tool? I don't think so. They are a huge target and putting couple holes in them should be enough to take them down.
Also they could make a pretty fun freeroam event out ot it

Personally, I would add gliders as well. Just place 10 or 20 of them around the map so you can easily get down from mountains and huge cliffs

Yea

Sure, it's a big target. Hard to shoot at though if there's 2-7 dudes in them, suppressing you and picking you off with long scoped snipers.
If they can be taken down with a couple shots, they might not be all that much fun to fly. It would be a random potshot magnet.

What's my point? We don't know how R* would implement them.
I'd welcome balloons if they're implemented and programmed well and in a balanced way.

yeah.... R* dropped the ball on this.
With more than 40 LA's, they could have offered hundreds of items.... different looking coats, vests, boots, gloves, hats, trinkets, pendants, saddles, saddlebags, wraps, gun belts, horse masks, etc. etc. etc.

I don't spend a lot of time on LA's, but I really like them for their Cripps material value. Doing one of the easy missions keeps Cripps busy for 40-60 minutes.

This week's refresh is absolutely sh*t. No new clothing items, no recycled limited stock, no discounts on existing clothing. Just a new sighting mission, some useless discounts on shotguns, baits and the elephant rifle no one uses, and that's f*cking it.

Well, whoopty f*cking doo.

If R* really wanted to do it justice they would have gone beyond clothing, saddles and saddlebags would have been great, could have had fur/pelt gun wraps and straps, gunbelts and holsters. 

 

Instead of having those (so far) almost useless legendary horns/claws/teeth/paws cluttering up our inventory, why not make charms/trinkets out of them to wear attached to our gunbelt or as a chain/necklace or hanging from our saddles.

 

Would have been an ideal time to introduce satchels too.

 

This whole update has been a missed opportunity.

I bought it, used it ones and stored it in the locker. The only use for this rifle is taking pretty pictures and even that 's debatable...

I only keep it on me to pull out for tackle executions on those particularly obnoxious NPC's I pass.

The Elephant gun ist garbage for Fights, No discussion...BUT is the only gun besides the Maxim gun, that blows Off entire Arms and legs. My inner gorehound loves IT....

I'm assuming those 2 hats are yet to be added. R* are really hanging on to those. Wouldn't want all the clothing released, cause that means that all that's left would really be animal missions, and that would just be bare bones (the obvious irony is that they've made that the case by holding on to the hats, not that it would make much difference either way).

Yeah, still locked away apart from R* giving out a unique colour of the Caffyns Hat to anyone who has reached at least rank 50 of the Outlaw Pass.

 

I haven't logged on to look yet, I'm half expecting it to be lime green.

The horses go about as fast as the trains, and I think the to about 35 miles an hour. In 1899, the average car could do 20mph on flat level ground. On rough terrain it would be less than that. Rough ground, constantly having to turn, uphill and downhill. Motorbikes would be roughly the same, but more manœuvrable.  
The balance from driving a car/bike comes from the fact they don’t come when you whistle, they can’t swim, and you can’t heal them if they get damaged from gunfire/falls. You’re basically trading the mobility and practicality of a horse for higher cargo/passenger capacity and reliability in a heated situation. A car can’t get spooked, after all. Basically would fill the same niche as one of the wagon carts. And how many players do you see riding around in wagons for fun? 95% of people would just use their horse.

 

They won’t add balloons. The one in singleplayer is scripted, it’s not actually riding air currents and you’re not really controlling it. When you turn the burner up, the game just runs a script to make it follow a pre-determined path. When you back off, it just pauses that script. No actual physics behind it.

So Fallout 4 runs at 60fps on Xbox Series X|S thanks to the backwards compatibility tech, without any work from the developers, the system doubles the framerate from 30 to 60 automatically, the developers only need to allow it.

Technically RDR2 could run at 60fps on the new Xbox consoles as well, but I think R* won't allow this and they would rather charge us 70$ in 2021 for the same enhancements the console could offer automatically for free in 2020. f*ck R* and all the greedy publishers. There is no excuse anymore for overpriced resolution and framerate upgrades called remasters.

 

Xbox just exposed all the publishers saying that it requires work so they need to charge us. No, it doesn't require work, if the hardware can do this automatically.

 

 

It's becoming harder and harder for devs to justify a 70$ port that just ups the graphics sliders and it should be.

People in the modern day tend to forget the fact that prior to the 1940s-1950s, most roads outside of cities were just horse trails and wagon cart paths. Dirty, muddy, rutted. Just as rough as any bush path today. Cars NEEDED to be able to get through that sort of environment, else nobody would ever buy them. Cars back then were all designed with high ground clearance to clear rocks and snow and hills and water fords, and generally have the same track width as a carriage to ensure their tyres slotted into the ruts horse carts left behind for the optimum amounts of traction. Most of the trails in the game are the exact sort of environment early cars were designed to operate in.

Just curious if anyone else has failed to get a perfect rat carcass from one of the St. Denis beggars? (I assume the beggar(s) in Blackwater as well)?

 

The animation clearly shows him putting it into your hand, but nothing is added to your inventory.

 

It was working fine until the last couple of weeks or so...

Xbox is trying to take out the PS.  Microsoft is going for the jugular this console life span.  One of the major forms of attack are going after PS with game pass and the upgrading of old games for free.  R* is clearly mad about it.  Which is why they offered their GTAO upgraded game for free on PS.  Microsoft have already promised this to their buyers.  Apparently, they back tracked on series S.
