To do what? Ability to kill griefers in a certain town with being put in offensive? lol

I just don't see what that role could do.

They have already said in interviews they would like the bounty hunter to be able to upgrade to a lawman role.

If they can make a naturalist role Im sure they could make lawman interesting.

Yeah I knew this update wasn't going to be nearly as big as they claimed. I'm not ready to write off this update just yet because I feel like I'll really like the naturalist role once I get into it. But I'm a wildlife biologist and my character is a native hunter so this update really speaks to me where it doesn't for others.

I'm a sucker for cosmetics but this update didn't really give me anything to look forward to aside from maybe the Australian shepherd. But there's nothing in the OP that I'm dying to have and the role rewards are men. I just hope there's more to the trapper clothing that we just can't see yet, if it's good that's where I'll spend my money

I kind of knew where the role was headed, and I am glad that R* took into consideration that there are players who are not so adamant to hunt, which is my position. I will give them credit where credit is due, but I was hoping for more in the way of updates outside of the role to keep me occupied until the next update hits in Dec.

My character is not a hunter nor a tracker in that aspect, he wouldn't actively seek these animals out for any reason other then to kill them for food or defense.  And if some lady asked him to help her tag an animal for research he'd probably look at her like she was crazy. 😁

That's cool that you're a biologist, I've always been fascinated by animals. Especially their behavior. 😊

WE are not entertained......( which was expected regarding my high standards about how MMO should be adressed )

Only one in my "Family Gaming Community" looking forward to it is my youngest 11y daughter which is playing Story at the moment....so she will take over Online, cause she's the obvious target audience for this "massive" Update.....

VBR

PS

Cant imagine how badass will "Zombies in Old West" be injected into the game with defenitelly best potential to recreate some history with Roleplaying.....

I'm back doing my regular stuff, I really don't get this update, it's just not fun... it's a freaking outlaw game and we are taking samples out of animals.

Imagine having a cowboy game but you focus on making content out of picking flowers, taking pictures, picking up items, making deliveries, hunting animals (than hunting animals again but without killing them...) instead of BEING A GODDAMN COWBOY.
They literally just make content from all the side activities you had in RDR2...

It should be easy to predict what we will get next, right?

A fisherman role?

I was trying to make a joke but... if they execute it properly it could work, I guess. If they gave us boats with harpoon guns so we can hunt sharks that... could be fun.

There seems to be an Outlaw Pass Season 1, and a Season 2. I'm guessing Season 2 might be The Halloween Pass just image posted previously.

With all due respect to those who think this update isn't massive, I have to disagree. I guess you need to define massive. The bug fixes alone are massive.

I would actually like to see more co-op story missions but I'll also enjoy this for what it is.

I'd like to see the requirements for the trapper items and if they drip feed more items in, you'll be busy till Christmas.

And with all due respect, Rockstar providing fixes to bugs that they created is not content. Quality of life changes yes, that is content. But bug fixes are not. I like the role so yeah I'll probably have plenty of content to keep me occupied for a while, but what if you don't like this role? Then you're SOL until December

They have moved the HDR settings to the Graphic Settings now on PC, it used to be contained in Display Settings. For those having issues with HDR and brightness settings etc.

I agree regarding the bug fixes but I was hoping for more outside of the role.

RDR2 still lacks dynamic events, we need train robbers, stage coach robberies, store hold ups, bank heists, horse taming/selling/breeding, and cabins properties.

Also, with all due respect, where did they say the content would be massive?

They said the update would be massive, which for what it's done, it is.

In my opinion, bug fixes should be excluded from any talk about what's in an update. Because bug fixes are something that should always be done and done often. So when I think of an update being labeled as "massive" I look at it as what does this update bring to the table to enhance my experience. Those things (in my opinion) include new content and quality of life changes. Bug fixes do not make my list, especially considering we had numerous patches to try and fix animal spawns and most of them didn't work.

Not really... Bugs take time to fix. People are always complaining that there are bugs for months, even years that never get fixed. It takes time, and obviously they made time for these bugs during the WFH time because they probably couldn't do much of anything else.

The alternative is to NOT fix the bugs... right?

I disagree, the alternative is to just add the fixes in the background like we know they can as and when they're fixed and not use those as a selling point when they should be attended to anyway IMHO.

We shouldn't have to wait for fixes and they shouldn't be using them as a way to market a 'massive' DLC.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but an "update" isn't just content oriented. Updates can pertain to bug fixes as well. When you update something, you're updating the files that already exist to patch the bugs, ergo, it's an update. And again, considering it's fixed some of the most significant bugs, including animal spawns, random encounters, gang hideouts to mention a few, it's a massive update.

There is only 8 hours in a work day and they only have so many people. Every minute spent fixing a bug is a minute taken away from creating content. That's just a fact of software development.

I work for a software development studio. We develop software for supply chain management companies.

I work in the QA department.

Today, for example, I found 4 bugs related to a new project we are developing for an add on product.

Our software is simple C++ and VB6 applications.

Turning in those 4 bugs will take a developer at least 1 full day to fix, during that time he cannot develop any new content at all and the end result is either A) we miss our release day, or B) something gets cut and pushed back.

At our company bugs are a higher priority than new content, but a gaming company sees it the other way.

The only reason the bugs were fixed is because they had time to do it.

im sorry but...no.

A new update from Rockstar is not about fixing a plethora of bugs, its necessarily new content.

This is common sense actually,  its not an opinion.

Tbh i think this update is kind of average. After 4 hours of playing it i think it just gets a bit boring and repetitive cos all you do is track, sedate and collect some blood samples. I mean i don't really want to turn my character into a biologist. It just doesn't fit my characters personality but i do respect the people who like this role and want to turn their characters into biologists. I'm just going to hunt animals for pelts and trade them in for some clothes but that will probably get boring after a while aswell. Overall, im not totally satisfied with this update but i respect the fact that R* have come out and released a update especially when we're in a pandemic.

But once you've fixed the bug, do you hold it for potentially months and use it to sell/market an upcoming content addition.

I don't doubt the effort and time it takes, and fully understand that it takes time away from creating content, that's not my argument.

The way they market it is. Any bugs they fix should just be offered up rather than used to sell the DLC IMO.

I assume you mean that figuratively.. it didn't cost a penny.

All they said was that the update was massive, and it kind of is.

When was the last time R* fixed this many bugs over a 7 month period?

I mean hell, they were working from home. They could have just said screw it we are closed to further notice but instead used the down time to do something productive.

I'll leave it at this...
