I won't hold my breath. Xbox Games Showcase will be great whether or not Rockstar will be a part of it.

Likely not part of it because Jim Ryan from PlayStation already said the R* partnership will continue in the next generation.

Next up is the August 3rd investor call. I expect something from R* before that.

Still interesting that one Twitch Prime reward ends July 21st while all the others end November 30th.

We are also now on the biggest german gaming site, GameStar.

Some of you veterans might remember this site from the RDR2 previews and the day I translated their paywalled article shortly before R* announced the RDR2 Gameplay Video ;)

We already know 3rd party will be part of the Xbox Games Showcase.

It is their digital E3. Just a month later.

The simple reason why they advertised it first as Xbox Game Studio games in May is because their May show didn't feature any 1st party games and there was a lot of uncertainty back then about their global partners.

Reputable insiders also confirmed big 3rd party appearances.

Elden Ring, Dying Light 2, Far Cry 6, Cyberpunk 2077, Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster, Dragon Age 4, Tales of Arise are rumored to make an appearance.

If I remember correctly the PS5 event was called as much but we opened with a GTA remaster.

Oh I didn't know about the insider leaks because from everything I have been watching the leaks were aimed at their first party studious and I thought the rest was for their August event (they said they would have an event every month leading to launch) but I hope you are both right and I am wrong, right now I want nothing more than a RDO update.

I just think they really hated all the negative press and the negative youtube videos they got last year when they announced the summer update 5 months before launch, unfortunately this is how they operate. They stay silent then spend crazy marketing dollars the week before the update launches. Usually before an update releases thats all I see as my youtube ads, I also remember before GTAO Doomsday every time there was a commercial break during the Game Awards that trailer played. Also lets not forget this method has worked for them in the past countless times.

When I typed in Red Dead Online Clown on google and went to the news section these are all the articles I found (Not all in english) so I thought I would link them for everyone so we can keep track when new ones pop up, especially from bigger publications (for anyone thats interested).

There is a youtube video linked in every article, I think it was by the youtube "onlypvpcat" (Sorry if I got the wrong name, I just wanted to give credit and thank them for bringing attention to it all) if the other youtubers begin making videos on this it could get even more traction.

If Xbox has an August event it will be very small.

People confuse this Xbox 20/20 stuff.

They didn't have an event in June, but articles.

Xbox 20/20 just means they have something to talk about Xbox Series X every month leading up to launch. It doesn't mean an event every month.

The May event was so small, you pretty much can forget that as well.

If there was one event, it would be the Xbox Games Showcase, which is basically their delayed digital E3 briefing. Xbox will go all-in, no need to temper expectations. I'm excited for it.

On another note: I'm not saying that RDO will be there. Not at all. RyuNova thinks that. I'm just saying 3rd party will be there. I wouldn't expect RDO.

Well that video up there shows the main problem. This guys has 400 gold and 11000 cash. How can rockstar possibly make any money on RDO?

If they don't create story-mode DLC and charge $60 a pop, then they are done with this game.

Meanwhile GTAO bring them in so much money they would be fools to take away any time from that game...

Simple math

He’s different, he even has a billion $ on GTAO. He is a known grinder, it’s his full time job, he’s recorded every dollar he’s made, he isn’t the normal player, even on GTAO where it’s not easy to make money he is super rich.

RDO was making money though based on the last conference call right?

Anyone think our weekly event being 2 weeks has any sort of meaning behind it? If you to the GTAO DLC speculation thread they have some very strong opinions that the 2 week long event for RDO has some sort of meaning as far as GTAO DLC and they have all sorts of dates for some DLC being announced or released by the end of this month for GTA. I feel like at this point we'll see some sort of GTA news first and our event being 2 weeks long could have something to do with it but who knows. Also, the GTA qabeta has been updated quite a few times the last few days so I guess my point is if GTA gets any sort of news we should as well.

I mean I assume so. Back in December January R* said GTA and Red Dead had like record breaking numbers so I imagine it was bringing in quite some money.

Im just going to say it

i think we are getting that rumored RDR remake

R* did a whole alot of stuff to celebrate the 10th anniversary for RDR, something they don't really do for their other games

COVID caused them to delay the announcement

I mean it would make sense for a few reasons. They already have new Austin built, if they are gonna build Mexico they can add it to online. They already have some of the characters made in HD thanks to RDR2, it will seek crazy good due to the series being more popular than ever. They have an engine that works, there is countless reasons why it would make sense, I think it would be a full remake and they will treat it like a brand new game.

It's the silence. If they put out a good article with some juicy nuggets and some good screenshots we would have loads to talk and speculate about but nothing.

Is the event week one week or two weeks? Because the discounts at benefits in game says it is through July 20th?

Thing is with The Professional (I am subscribed to him and like his stuff) is that he claims he is so bored with the game etc  yet he will still be streaming tonight and he usually streams every Friday. The best thing he could do is stop streaming the game. No good running around as clowns. They are still going to be playing the game and that’s what Rockstar wants. He already has more money than he’s ever going to need in this game unless Rockstar drastically alter the economy. To show true dissatisfaction at the games current state just stop playing it. He can’t be that bored if he’s still regularly streaming the game.

My problem has always been the communication from Rockstar.

The thing with anyone playing, doesnt matter if its gta or rdr2, is the players like the games, and compared to other games, they just have something different about them. We are kinda in a game drought until fall. But with that said, players are creative. GTA has people trying to walk across the map without dying and dressing as aliens. Rdo has people dressing as clowns. Boredom has set in with rockstar games and no one knows when to expect a dlc. Like you say, the problem is the lack of communication.

Funny thing is if this clown thing gets more people to log in to participate T2 executives will just spin it into "a healthy vibrant community of loyal players making their own fun in our expansive ever evolving welcoming open world" and then they will compare it to the alien war of GTAO.

You've absolutely hit the nail on the head with this part.

I get what your saying, regarding him in GTA:O.

But in RDRO, I've been super casual with this game and had months at a time where I've not played at all in the last 18 months or so, I'm only just now rank 100 and with 18k and 450 gold.

The money making and gold (if on daily streaks which isn't hard to do at all when you only need to do one easy daily to retain that streak) are so easy compared to GTA:O.

You don't need to come close to grind in RDRO to make the money that chap has IMHO.

Even if it is 1% they have share holders and investors who like to get their money back. And this can force T2 to force R* to make statement whet the hell is going on.

It's how I feel too.

Although that said, it was the outside press that hammered R* for this game's economy early on that potentially contributed to R* making changes. Maybe it does help to get headlines.

But a big part of me feels R* are too arrogant to even care so lo g as players are playing and gold sells.
