That's why I'm always in a solo lobby when playing GTAO, I never spend my time in a full lobby, because the game is just unplayable then. With RDO I actually don't mind a full lobby, except for the animal spawns.

If I could not get into a Solo Public Lobby I would have stopped playing GTAO years ago. That is the single thing that saved the game for me.

It’s saying something when most people want to play an online game by themselves lol

It's not that I don't like playing with other people, it's the fact that the majority of other players are either cunts or just plain toxic.

BUT THE BENZ

yo "jason", do you know if  the benz still gets paid a bit with every GTA V game sold?! especially if people join online, which he directed?! that would be funny, and good for the benz I suppose!

It’s honestly like that for most MP games. It’s more about the content than the community. The only real exception is MMOs which are designed from scratch to only function as an MP game.

What truly stuns me, is how GTAO is able to generate revenue when all of the public sessions are filled with hackers that drop money bags. I absolutely refuse to play the game unless it's in an invite only/friends only session. Public sessions are absolute cancer. I know people buy shark cards but it still blows my mind how popular it is considering how many f*cking problems there are with the game.

We don't get hackers or money drops on current console, which is easily where the majority play compared to PC. I agree that PC is an absolute sh*t show and after how R* treated PC players in GTA, I am surprised to read how so many are upset that RDRO on there is no different to be honest, and how many put up with it too after GTA proved so f*cked. It was obvious R* wouldn't do anything more to help a part of the playerbase they so clearly don't care about enough to offer any basic security or safeguards for the legitimate PC gamer.

There's only one way R* will be forced to do better, but it needs the players to unite and stop playing to force them into a rethink of how they do, but that won't happen as R* did well in splitting opinion of the playerbases so much, we can't unite, lol. Card/gold buyers vs players/freeloaders. Griefers vs passive players, PvP vs PvE. All but guarantees R* win out in the end.

The way they do these games makes them too much money to care, the saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' is pretty ironic, but very true regarding revenue. Hence we got this empty, broken mess of a game that seems already to be on track to be like GTA with only the 2 major updates a year. They know it works and they'll market it well enough to get folk back, they have no doubt there.

As others have said though, GTA survives so well because we have legitimate options to remove any grief from our game of it, unlike here. And we even have widely known workarounds for each platform too, which R* is doing all it can to stop in RDRO. And for me, that's what is strangling this game from being able to compare to GTA. Invite only, legit and illegitimate solo/crew only public lobbies are a huge key to GTA:O's success IMHO.

The games are touted as a sandbox/open world game, but only one actually let's us players play how we choose, while this forces players to either accept restrictive gameplay or walk, and millions are walking, if social media in general is any indicator. All GTA needs to do is have a hiccup and the web goes wild, here it's lucky to get a whimper, lol. Says it all considering the 100m+ GTA copies sold that they could market RDR to in GTA. This game is a huge backward step in freedom in the games and after having said freedom in one to not get it here, that's just bad creativity. Especially as R* themselves have said those lobby choices are made and ready 'as a back up' teasing us that want choices really is just pathetic.

I agree. I’ve never got the fascination with GTAO. You can’t walk around a public lobby for more than 30 seconds without someone killing you. Everything is ridiculously overpriced. You literally just have to constantly grind to make decent money so you can buy a new vehicle.

And then you get bored of that within an hour. Rockstar have done a great job of convincing people there is an actual point to GTAO. There isn’t. It’s just people mindlessly killing each other for no reason.

This game isn't much better in my experience, if anything it's worse as the game serves up the peaceful player for the mindless/COD rejects to easily target. No choice but to accept that it's public only or nothing. In GTA I can still play if I choose to rid my game of those players.

I can agree on overpricing of things, but RDRO is no better with stuff like a shovel costing a few hundred bucks which is what, 10 times more than it was in the old west, lol. Binoculars and such as well, it's ridiculous over here too. It's worse in a way too as to get the things I want, I have to play sh*tty game modes I don't want to get something like eagle eye plus. I don't want to keep repeating bounties or run businesses in this game, but I have to if I want the content that does appeal. I really hate that aspect of this game, too restrictive and forced and considering the long gaps between DLC, everyone ends up the same by all being moonshiners, bounty hunters, traders and collectors anyway, lol. It's like herding sheep TBH.

That said, I've never found GTA (or RDRO) to be a grind, lol. I get that many do make it one, but for me and many of my buddies, the money just came from playing and the freedom we had to play how we wanted. With lobby choices, loading in and out of heists and other on call stuff is so quick and easy, having a crew to maximise any bonuses like criminal mastermind challenges or co-op in general makes money a doddle, cash for me there is just a consequence of playing and having fun as it all pays. Same as RDRO when I play, I can't not make decent cash that can only build in time and I'm having fun regardless. I like driving and flying a variety of things in one, I like fishing/hunting and collecting in various places here (when I'm allowed and knobs don't use me as their little plaything for instant erections).

I can spend 3 hours enjoying a good peaceful PvE session with my buddies and making cash just happens, lol. That whole grinding thing is a mugs game IMO.

Not really. It's diversity and all games like this should have it.

Besides, most get a session alone and then invite their friends and control the lobby. And those in invite only aren't all looking to play alone, just away from the poison out to disrupt our game is all. Hence why GTA thrives with crews loving the game while the lone wolf can too. It's a win for every playstyle in GTA really.

That's only because people are assholes on both games. If you wanna avoid PvP on free roam you should play solo.
And the cheater problem on PC. I have seen more cheaters in RDO on PC recently.

RDO is much more enjoyable even in its current state. I can actually exist in a public session without constantly getting killed. And yes stuff is overpriced in RDO but money is much easier to make especially with that collectors map. So honestly I wouldn’t even mind paying $1000 for a shovel because there’s literally not much else to spend it on. Lots of people already have enough money in this game to never have to grind again lol.

But yea GTAO public sessions are literal war zones. Every single one of them. I don’t play it hardly ever now but when I do its solo public to make a bit of money. And also logging on for the $1 million every month.

I'd say that's not a universally shared opinion yet though given GTA's popularity, IMHO.

The overpricing isn't a major issue right now as the game has so little, but it wasn't an issue early on in GTA either. It grew into an issue over there and seemingly will here in time, if the game survives, lol.

Of course, GTA public is a mess, but some love that aspect though and more power to 'em, GTA enables all playstyles to thrive is my point where as here it's restricted to a point it puts many players off which means this game might not meet R*'s expected targets and could put longevity at risk.

I will agree that RDO is genuinely a nice place to play. Ninety percent of my interactions with players are either neutral or friendly. The fact that Defensive Mode disables lock-on while leaving the Defensive player able to do everything else castrates alot of the little sh*ts.

Fair enough. I just don’t think GTAO is really for me. I’ve never had a sustained period of playing it. I’m always on and off. But from my experience GTAO has so much to offer, but very little to keep me interested. A lot of it is just basically a delivery simulator. Wait for this to produce and drive it here. I know there’s some of that in RDO like moonshiners but the product produces quicker and it only takes 5 minutes to deliver it. I just find RDO a lot more immersive. Like when the trader role actually works and there are animals about I loved doing that. It was much more hands on. You didn’t just have to wait for something to produce you have to go out and hunt and bring it back. Just feels more satisfying. And obviously the game looks a lot better which adds to the immersion. This is why it’s so frustrating because RDO could and should be brilliant. It feels like it’s on the precipice of being brilliant. A couple of big updates and we could be there. And I’ll come back and eat my words.

Also I’ll add I find the time period of RDO a lot cooler. The characters look cooler, the guns look cooler etc.

If it were, possible to play GTAV and RDR2, with my custom made characters - I would never play online. God's truth (c) Shakey

That's understandable, absolutely.

I will say that the game is much better when with a group of friends and some time spent to understand the bad aspects though, but RDRO is much the same too, any game really is better with likeminded folk, lol. These forums has seen me get so much more from both games as I find folk I gel well with and hit challenges that at one time seemed impossible.

I love the heists in GTA and strongly believe it's the best they added so far. Though do agree that it's a delivery sim on businesses which I soon got bored of, lol. That's a big part of why I'm frustrated by RDRO starting with businesses too unfortunately.

If you're on PS4 and do fancy another pop into GTA, by all means drop me a text here though. No pressure mind you. :)

Even if the online character isn't available. Just give me all the online properties to buy and the online missions to do with the main protags of GTA V/RDR2 and call it a day.

Oh yea I’m on PS4 I’ll message you my gamer tag. I don’t have too many people to play with now as my friends all abandoned it a while back lol

Imagine playing GTAV and RD2O as a member (a mute member) of the Dutch's gang or Michael's crew?

I would love that option. A sort of "New Game +" mode where you import your Online character and simply play the same missions just off-centre a little with Arthur as an NPC.

It’s saying something when most people want to play an online game by themselves lol

That is certainly not a majority feeling. I personally hate solo sessions and won’t stay in one for longer than a few minutes. The game is way better in a populated session.

This isn’t meant to be an slight at people who play solo just pointing out that isn’t even close to a majority opinion from players and likely the opposite.

I can agree on overpricing of things, but RDRO is no better with stuff like a shovel costing a few hundred bucks which is what, 10 times more than it was in the old west, lol. Binoculars and such as well, it's ridiculous over here too.

I would like to think Madam Nazar

Spoiler

sexually pleased herself

with those items and they have

Spoiler

"fragments"

or

"remains"

on them making them extra special. If only there was a

Spoiler

"smells good emote"

that is my own personal head canon as to why those items cost so much. And I'm okay with that.

Yes and he's look at at Mary-Beths boobs in the second, poop in the third and his horses butthole/genitals in the last one.

Would't that just be pictures of him sniffing her bum with a dopey smile and multiple pictures of her feet?
