RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Y'all are already judging and criticizing an update that hasn't dropped yet and we technically know almost nothing about it, why don't we be patient a little bit untill it drops or be fully revealed with all of its details?

It's called speculating and being grumpy at the same time. 

As a woman who feels wronged by R*, it's just what I do now.

I don't think players ( I dunno if I would call many of us "fans") are looking for more of the same stranger missions with these updates, nor are we hoping for random chance free roam encounters that might not happen often.  We would like robberies that we can have control over, that start when we want them too, and that are without stupid timers that make us hurry through them instead of allowing us to actually enjoy ourselves.

 

GTA online has those heists that you kind of plan out, it makes you feel more involved with what is happening, and that's what I would like to see in these new updates.

If there's train robberies, awesome, bring 'em in (I agree there may be some!), but don't go saying it's confirmed when it's not confirmed anywhere.

I think you are missing something, Rockstar posted a photo for a posse rob a train, make sure of your words before you accuse others, people think before they talk, do not they?

But is it though? I would figure that the company would want to try some other way of getting us to spend money and this would be it, the Outlaw Pass is already a thing. This way they can share the Pass when they do, but just update the other Club here and there with different things.

The club might be something that is updated far more regularly than just an Outlaw Pass which comes and goes?

Getting a bit spicy in here, lol. Now it feels like we're closer to a DLC. How very GTA:O section it is indeed.

For all we know, it's a posse that's on the run after robbing a homestead to lose the law.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to believe trains are involved to be robbed, weather it's loot on board or we rob passengers etc. I believe it'll happen, weather in this, part of the dripfeed (of which R* are very guilty of showing content that's left in the dripfeed for much later in regards to GTA:O - The Hunter helicopter or panther statue come to mind), or in a part 2 DLC later on for example. 

 

But until the DLC comes or R* confirm it properly, I'll always be open-minded to it going either way, and people are right to be cautious of R*'s advertising given the 'huge/massive' comments previously. As no-one can say for certain, you've got to expect some won't take another's (your) speculation as fact.

 

I will say, I may have complaints about some content and certainly the pace of it arriving, but their marketing department really do excellent work to make things look and sound awesome. It wouldn't be the first time things get overstated in their newswires unfortunately.

 

I just hope they live up to plenty of expectations as things in here are only gonna get worse if R* miss the potential the theme has.

That photo shows a group of jabroni's, hopping on the roof of a train. 

 

We don't know, if it's a train robbery. We don't know, if they are a posse.

Makes me wonder if it's a rogues club pass to go alongside the regular one we get?

 

Imagine, one pass that Xp progresses for good deeds and fair sport like hunting for essentials or taking samples/collecting or such. But another that only progresses if we do bandit things like stealing, excessive hunting, moonshine bootlegging, or lawman killing etc.

 

Could add a bit more depth and doubles up the passes/rewards and such (though hope they don't become a chore to rank up of course - Say 50 ranks each instead of just 80-100 on the one pass).

 

I don't expect this of course, but could be an interesting dynamic.

I didn't think of that, but a pass for less honorable actions would be very interesting indeed. And it would fit with the theme of this new update as well.

I just hope we also get some substantial sh*t to sink our money into. Doesn't even have to be especially useful. What do I need robbery for when I'm already sitting on an idle, useless fortune?

Right, so now IMO the pattern of how R* moves is in a positive way, they are building a ton of momentum for these robberies from small homesteads to high stake robberies ( could be bank heists or train robberies we don't really know ). They also give us more info on what's to come now too, and even if players know and are skeptical or cautious about how they mostly hype up updates but release underwhelming content, I think R* is trying to do better now.

I think we will receive several updates this summer in this way : OP6 and Homestead robberies on the first update, followed by Guido Martelli missions ( probably towards the end of the summer ).

I do not think there are two updates,  Rockstar said " diverse array of new missions across the world ", these missions may work much like the bounty/infamous bounties, some of the infamous bounties take you in a private session and you can do some of them in the free roam, I assume these new missions will work the same, homestead and camp robberies in the free roam and if there are train robberies it will be in a private session but whatever  it is a step in right direction

tbh the thing i am excited for the most is being able to look through new files again.
the missing file names will be annoying, but oh well.
it should be relative easy to extract the outlaw pass stuff if there are more than 1 added.

Probably OP6 and Halloween pass, but where are the rest of the telegram missions, did they make some modifications to them to be one of Guido's missions and will they release it as part of the new update?

Fair point, but I'm still wondering how they will add Guido as they stated that he is building his connections and players will work for him. I think first possible scenario is exactly as you said that they could be the same as infamous bounties that takes us into private sessions for the mission. Second I think, Guido will be a more fleshed out part of the underworld with not just missions but also progression that eventually leads to high stakes robberies but that's just my opinion and speculation. Either way we can both agree that it really is a step towards the right direction.

I think Guido may appear for one time to give you some information about the new missions across the world, these missions probably will be Intimidation in order to get money, stagecoach robberies , homesteads robberies camp robberies, It also does not have to be all about robberies because the update is about the criminal underworld overall, it may include killing and intimidation in order to get money as they said

By the way that I read the first line of text from the newswire, it seems that the ability to rob homesteads and the like is just one part of the update we will be getting since it says:

"As part of the early summer update coming to Red Dead Online...."

It's quite possible that it's not part of the Role they may introduce or whatever.  We'll probably just getting Trader Role Expansion instead tough.

Maybe they’ll give us ’Outlaw Pass Plus’. 10-20 additional ranks.  80 gold price tag, and you only get 50 gold back.

Maybe a interesting thing I noticed: Everytime Rockstar updates the QABETA2 depot on RDR2, the QABETA2 depot on the Online Standalone also gets it's update. But: Everytime the QABETA3 on RDR2 gets an update, the QABETA depot on the Standalone gets it. The QABETA3 depot here got it's last update 9 days ago.

What could this mean? Maybe nothing? I am not an expert in understanding that things, but maybe this is a nice to know information?

nothing really.
the standalone versions uses the depots from RDR2 version.
they are identical.
the only thing that is different, is bc of the different AppID, they gave it a own installscript.vdf, bc that file is needed to have the appid listed of the standalone version

Ah okay. But it seems like the names of the Depots are a bit "changed". Last time QABETA3 at RDR2 was updated is some minutes ago. Last time QABETA3 at Standalone was updated is days ago, instead they've updated QABETA now. This is the thing that confuses me

like i said, it doesn´t mean anything.

as you can see all the depots are shared from the main RDR2

except that very small one that only contains the installscript.vdf

People thought the same thing about Doomsday in GTA, it felt like a action pack finale and send off to our protagonist but here we are still going strong!

 

Doing everything BUT seeking revenge feels VERY out of character.
