Any chance they scrap the op5 and just drip feed the stupid ugly clothing knowing that it's been leaked and everyone thinks it's garbage? A fake beard? How insulting. Who could possibly have thought that was legitimately an item any player would ever want? They should at least add an inventory editor along with the update so you can immediately delete the beard from your wardrobe...not to mention the damn REGULAR LASSO that I have been forced to carry against my will for the past year and a half....

The same people that spend their time coming up with new nah-nah-nah emotes. This game will never be right unless there's a change in personel, nothing else will save it.

I was flipping through the channels and caught something over the weekend and they talked about RDR2.  They said(and I agree) that Rockstar will never make a game like this again because the original Rockstar crew is completely gone.

QABETA3 was updated some minutes ago. So I don't think we'll get the new DLC / content next week when the current Outlaw Pass expires. Normally it takes about 2 weeks between the last QABETA change and the release of the update. Also they're updating it on a daily base at the moment. After a DLC is finished in QA there are always like 3-5 days where nothing happens.

Let's wait and see...

I don't mind stupid things like fake beards. The way I see it, it's a way for Rockstar to get some cash from some demographic (you know which one).

 

From my point of view, that's a way to get the budget for some fun content. Of course, that's assuming we will have some fun content... one day...

If they provide the fun content, then the money will follow.  Seems pretty logical to me.

I'm sure one day they will announce RDR2 next gen/expanded and enhanced edition! and that comes with robbery/heist update!
For next update I expect another garbage outlaw pass and some new boring missions + another useless role or a role expansion for existing useless role!
Since they are not so smart they will delay next outlaw pass for a few weeks just to make sure everybody completed last amazing outlaw pass lol...they way rockstar is treating us is just SAD!  they need more employees to develop more and better content! they can make more money with that!

I don't think we are seeing anything this month, I'm going to say we will be waiting til June but I hope not.

I'd rather pay for every quality DLC, as I do in other games, than have microtransactions in a game. It seems to me that would be a more reliable/consistent flow of revenue. I think the ones who take the microtransactions route are the ones who are unwilling/unable to provide quality DLCs and they know they would have to put out frequent DLCs to keep the cash flow going. It's part of the reason I doubt R* has all the big plans for this game that some seem to believe.

I am thinking we either get 10 ranks for booth roles. I think we are getting trader no matter what due to the wagon liveries being in the game. Unless we get a tier 3 role that requires both trader and moonshiner.

I'd argue the playerbase still hasn't recovered from the lack of updates after Moonshiner only to be followed by the Collector Role which clearly should have been packaged with something else.  I'm not sure if it ever will to be honest.

If they do ever announce the enhanced edition, I really hope it comes with character transfers like GTA had for PS3 to PS4/PC.  Its the only reason I haven't gotten RDO on the PC yet.

The random bouts of RDO I play are the only reason my PS4 even gets switched on now, I'm not really willing to start all over again on PC, so I'm holding out some hope. But this new Outlaw Pass isn't really appealing at the moment.

I honestly have no idea who in their right mind would have thought that a fake beard would be content anyone would want in a type of game like RDRO, especially when R* seems to think that most players are hardcore GTA types? Is it supposed to be a "cute" disguise like a mask when we do our bad guy stuff?

If that's the case than what do the ladies get?

 

Because back in those days I can tell you that most people would see a woman walking into a bank with a fake beard made of straw on as somewhat suspicious, and if they didn't they deserved to get robbed.

 

Ya know I honestly feel bad for the people who are deciding on this stuff if they aren't doing it just to be asses. Someone out there had to have put the thought into these pass items, and obviously they are off the mark with any humorous attempts at being funny. 

But I remember that this is coming from a company that actually took the time to look into the biology of a stud horse's genitalia in the frigid cold and put the shrinkage into the game.  Really?

There are always going to be critics going against what you do, that's a promise, but I still feel a tiny bit of guilt mocking them if these people are actually trying to make the game fun but they just can't get it right. 

And if they are doing just to be jerks, well it's just not a good level of "funny" because most of the players aren't getting the joke.

 

Also you mentioned that lasso, I really wished they would fix it too. Sure was nice when the role first came out that when I bought the reinforced lasso my original just up and disappeared from my inventory.

^ I don't think the lasso disappeared from your inventory, for me it's on my horse like the rest of the melee items I wish I could stow away in the weapon locker. And since the game for whatever reason won't save my preferred load out in the wheel, I'll end up with the original lasso on foot if I don't select the reinforced lasso when near/on horseback. There are definitely a TON of QOL improvements I would like to see happen rather than having meme crap like the leaked OP5 items added... but I've been playing GTAO since launch so I don't have much faith. I think they purposely make everything slightly off style wise to keep people wasting time and money trying to make outfits. They couldn't possibly consistently get everything wrong the way they do if it wasn't on purpose. Why else would there not be a single decent looking normal Stetson style hat, why the ridiculous coon skin cap instead of the classic, Why the goofy moccasin styles, etc? There are like a thousand belt buckles and none of them look like anything you'd see in reality. GTAO and RDO both favor quantity of quality, and if they aren't doing this on purpose idk how to make sense of it. I hope if the next major update is just the extension of trader/moonshiner with added liveries for the wagons, at least they should add the ability to customize your wagons with owned horsed. Otherwise I don't understand the point of owning work horses if they can't do any work. If RDO evolves anything like GTO we'll be able to own a Pegasus that poops cluster bombs, breathes fire, and shoots lasers out of its eyes before we ever get any normal content.

I posted a while back and it still holds true.

I have never, in all my time gaming, seen a player base which such a united list of wants for a game nor have I seen a company that refuses to listen to its fans. Any other company would have been burnt to the ground already. Look at Bioware with that Anthem game or the last Mass Effect game, they almost killed the entire franchises just because they were buggy or low on content. They were eventually fixed but the fans still almost burnt down the company. RDO is both low on content AND buggy.

 

I cannot understand why the content is so little and so shallow and whoever is signing off on it saying "Yea, this is great. Loads of content here" needs to be fired. Six months waiting for an update and we get three days worth of content, what the actual f*ck? Six months of work from a renowned world-class studio and its three days of content, stretch that to a week/a week and half for casual players and its still not enough. Look at studios like Bethesda and their Skyrim and FO4 DLC, Far Harbor released seven months after FO4 and that was months worth of content. Yes, it was paid but as it's been proven if you put out content worth paying for then people will buy Shark Cards/Gold.

 

The only reason I can see for such sh*tty content is that the entirety of R* is working on the E&E version of GTAV/O and RDO has been passed off to some B-Team or a team in another country who have no clue what the vision for the game is and are just adding stuff they think is funny. The differences between those games and RDR2 are that RDR2 is an incredibly polished game, and Red Dead Online just oozes potential. It can be (or could've been) something amazing, if given the GTA Online treatment when it comes to updates.

 

Unfortunately, because RDR doesn't have a PC history behind it, like GTA has, the playerbase is a lot smaller. Which means the revenue is lower. From a business perspective, i understand why Rockstar focuses on GTA Online or GTA 6.

But seeing them not maximizing the potential of a game like Red Dead Online still hurts, and i think we'll always be left wondering "what if".

I agree with what you are saying but it's not like the RDO players want massive things. Just basic QoL stuff, stuff that GTAO had on launch, we are still in the RDO beta.

Given the Outlaw Pass ends next week, that's probably when proper updates on a Tuesday go from being really unlikely to just unlikely.

Following on from what I said before, Cayo Perico was "supposedly" made from home and that added significant content, a f*cking drivable submarine, multiple new toys and an entirely new island and yet the last update for RDO, the bloody Christmas one I might add, added a few new missions and some reskinned Bounty Wagons.
