yeah, i am not one for much cosmetics.

like i don´t really need emotes and such.

and i also don´t need my weapons to have a different metal color.

the only thing i used my gold for now is outlaw pass and roles

You really can't ever have enough. R* is going to keep increasing the gold cost of things and probably will be putting more and more necessary, not just cosmetic, things in that will require outrageous amounts of gold.

It's enough for a long time.

Let's see the previous updates..

All the current roles, plus bounty hunter expansion cost ~100 gold bars total.

Outlaw passes cost 40 gold bars each and you can make your gold back from those. I didn't count the halloween pass.

Some horses do cost gold, tho.

Other than that pretty much cosmetics.

I just checked gold bar prices in store. they would make much more sales on gold bars if they did a subscription and activity based gold bar reward. the more you are active in game (log in more, play certain amount of time maybe), the more you receive weekly gold bar reward (let's say about 2 for the least active, 10 for the most active). a cheap entry price for the subscription would also help boost sales

And Fast Travel should have been free from day one.  It was in RDR1 OL.

I never understood this gimmick in games. In Fallout76 is the same: pay caps to fast travel. And in both games is not a currency that you can buy with real money so it's there just for....lolz? Oh, and Horizon Zero Dawn also has that and it's a single player game smh.

I think Fast Travel should be removed completely, since it's not very realistic for the era.
Train travel and stage coaches is more realistic for the era...

Fast travel is just taking a nap while your horse/stage coach/train takes you to your destination.

iirc someone here said that with OP 5, you will NOT make your gold back. with the previous passes you were rewarded those goldbar-coupons, but for OP 5 there are no such images for the specific reward coupons in the files, or something like that.

 

bummer eh? so there go 40 bars, for a satchel extension, a gun variant? and a camp theme maybe? we already know the clothing is disgusting....lots of bars for...a little bit of this and a little bit of that

Last OP you didn't get all your gold back and I reckon the next ones will give less and less back until they reach the point you will get none back.

Yes, you might have a point here .. On the other hand, I'm using it quite often - So I'm a bit for, and against the fast travel feature ..  It, takes some of the charm and slow pace out of the game - but it's very handy when doing daylies ..

 

Fast Travel can bring a lot of bad players to a place near you in a short time - but can also bring you out of trouble fast ..

 

They could have made it a kind of "semi fast travel", where you could get on the train, stagecoach or a boat, and do a cinematic of you travelling (maybe use a minut or two on the travel sequence) and even make a safe spot out of it .. Just to keep the "get out of trouble fast" option, and make it more slow, so it is a way to travel safe, but not the one we have now, where we are teleporting faster then they did in Star Trek ..
