The one thing that I love about the RDR world is that it hints at historical fact all the while giving leniency to the aspects of fantasy. This opens up the world to things that run against the mundane and allows for a more creative approach to the content we are given and the characters that we can create.

I adore the strange things that we get in this game, but this is just ridiculous.

Either they are mocking fun at us now, or they honestly think that this stuff is going to be well received? If they believe the latter then we are lost as this game is going to get way too weird.

And this is coming from someone who loves eccentric, abnormal stuff.

 

What next? A unicorn horn and glitter paint for our horses?

R*, if you ain't gonna give us sizeable updates and just continue tacking paltry stuff onto the established roles can we at least, at bare minimum, get the ability to buy a room in one of the multiple Hotels and flop houses? A room we can spawn in, one that has a stove with stew, a lockbox etc.

 

I wouldn't even care if it was just reused assets, I would prefer it if it was not but I am not going to flip out over it. Just let us feel like we are moving up instead of constantly sideways, I have been living with a tramp in the woods for years now.

logged in the other day, after a 2+ month break. 
Had been playing another open world game. 

Playing RDO again reminded me of how beautiful and detailed the world they created is. Quite stunning. 
A lot of the content in the game now is real good. It's fun and enjoyable. 
But it also reminded me of how much untapped potential there is. If the total potential is 100%, we have about 10% in the game right now. The possibilities are almost endless. 

Reading up on speculation and you guys talking about updates (what? when? how big?), I have to remind myself of R* track record with this game. How much have we received in the last 14 months? 
Not much, compared to the 12 months before that. 

So I will keep my expectations very, very low. When the next update comes, I'll play it, and take another break if / when the game gets stale again. If it wows me: that's great. 
But I've been disappointed too many times by R*, and have bought into the hype train one too many times.  

As far as I can see, we might not get OP5 until May31st (some vouchers are valid until then), and we might not get even a 10-level role expansion on top of that. 
If we get more: that's great, but I don't expect more. 

For 2021 the game could use a content infusion equal to 2-3 Frontier Pursuits updates (when they introducted 3 roles). Whatever that means.... properties, rancher / outlaw / fisherman / heists / etc. etc. etc. 
But I don't expect anything else but OP5, OP6 for X-Mas, and 1-3 role expansions (10 levels each).

I'd just like to know one thing: is R* happy with the $5 standalone version sales, and MTX sales since then (pushed by the daily challenge nerf)? Did it make them finally allocate enough ressources to the game, which would mean lots of great new content?  Am curious to hear what you guys think.

I was on some sports sites this morning and those commercials they run at the beginning of videos featured ads for Perico Heist or whatever it's called. Has anyone ever seen video ads for any RDO feature? If not, I wonder why not.

There's an ongoing marketing campaign for Cayo Perico Heist again. Red Dead Online rarely gets that special treatment unless a DLC releases.

the marketing department is so STEALTH about their sh*t...they even lifted the BETA tag without any official notice.

iirc there was a log-in screen notification, something about you getting a gift of 100 RDO dollars for red dead online - and there was just NO "beta" behind it, any longer.

I have been there, El Presidio is not solid, you can walk through it. No other buildings or towns are there. And there's a big gaping hole in a hill further south for some reason.

There were found assets of it and others Mexico buildings. But as I said before, they planned to add Mexico on releass date, but they couldn't make it on time. For now, we have only leftovers of it in game files and nothing more. I also don't expect that will change in near future.

i yesterday reached 250 gold.

is that enough for now or should i earn more gold for future DLCs?
