RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Actually, what are we going to get in next update? Except OP5 there were only inexact leaks like some fuzzy images.

Since OP5 is already in the game, there's probably not going to be a new update until after OP5 is done.

It's quite sad how low of a priority this game is for R*.

If R* adds heists, other outlaw stuff and private sessions it would definitely bring back a lot of players and it would definitely make me excited.

But despite having years of experience with heists in older GTA titles, GTA V SP, RDR2 SP and 4 massive GTAO heist DLCs they are still uncapable of adding heists to RDO.

Or they are just unwilling, despite I'm sure most if not all RDO players would love to get heists.

Jep, I'm gonna be depressed doing OP5 on 3 accounts just to get extra arrows.

Because that's all I want from it.

RDR2's playerbase is comparable to Elder Scrolls Online (although not everyone plays online) only taking taking the Steam numbers so it's not exactly in a bad position and that's not even taking the RDO standalone numbers into account which nets about 10-12K ccu everyday.

Bikers was the DLC that paved the way for what GTAO it is today and that came out 3 years after launch so it's pretty weird how Rockstar works. Who knows what this year holds for RDO.

Op 5 has in it cosmetic designs for the trader chariot, buggy etc. Its really unlikely tha it comes without the trader expansion.... so i think its based to guess, it will arrive with OP5 and most likely new coats for a pair of existing breeds.

I did the last 40 ranks of OP4 just to complete it.

it wasnt fun without any new content, it felt more like work/grinding.

they should release OPs only with new updates IMO.

OP4 doesn't have typical bounty hounter clothing though it came out with its expansion.

Be better off paying the low cost for arrows and crafting your own. It would be a lot cheaper than the gold they charge for the pass.

R* had no other game than GTA to focus on at the time. You can't assume RDO will be treated the same since they now have 2 games to work on. RDO is not the same type of game and will never have the number of players GTA has based on the type of game it is. Their focus will always be on GTA.

Then what are we even doing here if we'll be this pessimistic. RDO will never be GTAO but it sure as sh*t can be more popular and Rockstar knows it.

Unfortunately R* want to hold this puppy back.

After GTA:O, many want more freedom, not more restrictions, lol.

20 minutes cooldowns between these new missions us just another awful addition. The dickheads!

Rockstar will push gold sells no matter what and seeing how well Cayo Perico pays out I'm 99% convinced they'll add a premium currency in next gen GTAO.

I'd not be surprised, but it doesn't bother me as I've never struggled or found either game a grind like others do so I give it less thought.

I'd just like more freedom out there to play my way and not be herded like R* wants to do these days. Gets boring being restricted so much in a supposed open world game is all. Feels childish TBH.

These restrictions are for basically new players who're more likely to buy gold to fast forward the initial grind. At very best they'd reduce cooldown times but I'm don't think they will.

I'm still surprised how well stranger missions pay out. 0.16 at least in just 5 minutes and they don't even have cooldown too. Pair them with the new missions and daily challenges, it's fairly easy to earn gold.

I only popped on to do these new missions and found myself just standing around for 20 mins between jobs, lol. But I mean also the lack of lobby choices and being forced to mingle with idiots too, just limits the potential for many and pushes many away where GTA:O goes from strength to strength with more freedom (although GTA:O could always use more too). :)

With more content you'll be able to mix things up that'd fix cooldown time problem automatically. Lobby choices would always be welcome but I almost never find a griefer in RDO and even if I find one they can't aim for sh*t in free aim(I always play on defensive mode). It also helps that RDO doesn't (yet?) have game breaking OP weapon or equipment. The game just needs more content like bank, train, homestead robberies, gold mining, cattle herding, maybe owning a share in a Saint Denis brothel or shotel. Also this game needs goals like properties for us to work towards. This game lacks incentive.

RDO will never be as popular as GTAO. RDR2 has sold good, that's fact but when you look at steamDB, GTA V has 4 times more players than RDR2+RDO standalone.

Yeah, it definitely needs more additions, both larger and like these missions between. Would help if we had more freedom with other modes like showdowns and particularly racing as we can use the same maps in GTA but play them in so many ways we fancy at the time, from non contact racing to getting friends together and picking specific weapons in DM's and LTS etc. We could do with survivals and a creator here too to add more variety.

As you said, the incentive eases as time goes by for many. I've done plenty of what we already have and the pace tgey're adding is too slow along with the aforementioned freedom lacking. Though I don't doubt the pandemic hasn't helped, but this game wasn't built with such solid basic game modes tgat GTA:O had on day one and it shows at times.

But here's hoping these 3 new missions are a sign that R* intend to load the game up between the bigger additions. :)

Yeah, but it's not a clothing. In these leaks we have only artificial beard as something new.

Well GTA is undoubtedly much a more popular IP and GTAO is out for 7 years but I never said RDO will be as popular as GTAO. I said it can definitely be more popular than it is now. GTAO got it's most significant content update in it's year 3. So it's definitely no all over for RDO. IIRC GTAV's ccu was less than half of it's current numbers in 2015-'16 before Bikers dropped and from that point it started growing into the juggernaut it is today.

Since the telegram missions already came out and aren't considered a significant update by R*,, does this mean we should be expecting an actual update on March 16th? Maybe trader expansion or a new role?

I would expect it on May 31st. This is a date when coupons expire. I also don't remember if R* made any big update before that happens.

Yeah I think they would have released telegram missions alongside OP5 in March if they didn't have something else.

I think they have something else, which is a trader or collector extension and new telegram missions as drip feed as well to bridge the gap to the summer update that hopefully comes out in June and is more significant.

If i could bet it would be outlaw pass 5 with trader extension by the end of march, next extension and pass on max mid july...a sh*tty event or short pass in halloween... and finally the last update in december.

might be they went with the RDO equivalent of the nightclub

buy a location, start a gang, hire luitenants, assigns them to gather goods on their own, do wholesales

and people should look at Outlaw Pass releases, they all last 3 months, we'v had 3 on PC in over a year

they won't release the next pass the week after 4 ends

and I always figured they'd add Mexico alongside the final story mission, but it makes sense if they don't

like I said before, they started working on RDR2 right after RDR1 released, it took them 8 years, they stripped the map, added to it and then rebuilt it with amazing new graphics

expecting them to do that to the whole of mexico just because the basic map and a low quality town is in it at this point is a far stretch

I'm afraid R* will give us only OP5 and a pack of 10 telegrams missions that can be finished in 2 days. I know them too good, they won't give a sh*t to this game. Maybe I'm just pessimist, but I don't want to be a clown again, no more.

Seriously, where do you guys get this info from? Bikers, of all updates? Definitely not. There were at least three big and fan-favorite updates before that
