RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

So I have a question to pose to everyone here. Before everyone decides to trash R* for the sake of trashing R* I just want you to actually think about the situation before answering this question.

I looked at the last 3 RDO videos they posted on their YouTube page (OP4 trailer, RDO standalone, and BH trailer) and all three videos had terrible like to dislike ratios and all the comments were flooded with people complaining. When Naturalist came out yes people on this forum were complaining about it and hating it but the like to dislike ratio on the trailer were actually really good, the comments weren’t that bad either, and maybe they did make good money with that update, maybe the allure of legendary animals convinced some people to spend money. I doubt anyone at R* reads this thread, it’s also been proven no matter how much YouTubers make videos complaining about R* they don’t actually care about them (7 years of Gta have proven that) but do you think they’ll look at the reception of trailers and actually change the direction they’re going on? They’ve proven to pivot and listen to what players want in the past (moonshiners was a highly requested role they added pretty quickly after players requested it). I am not defending them (however I definitely don’t blame the actual developers, the blame solely falls on the decision makers) but I wonder if we’ve been the vocal minority in the past? Maybe people weren’t exactly happy but they were just content with everything. Disliking a YouTube trailer is the easiest way to show R* you aren’t happy with what they’re doing and it hasn’t been done in such high amount until now.

As long as Take 2 is involved, they don't care what anyone thinks.

Ran into my first dynamic Free Roam Bounty last night in Big Valley.

Just three guys riding along the road, got a pop up saying there was "Bounty Hunter tracks" or something and they opened fire. Killed his two minions, hogtied him and delivered him with less than thirty-second left. Got paid one dollar. One.

There is one location by camp in Big Valley, might be the same one that I get to do every day now heh. As well as the two Moonshine Bootlegger missions, gang hideout and camp site defend that spawn when I log on for the day, as well as the Ridgeback Spirit bear that I tend to ignore now as sedated and killed him more than enough times now.

Ah, so they have set spawn points?

Thats a shame, places are going to get so clogged up with "random" events. They should be travelling the map at all times. At least have the game track their route and spawn them when players get close.

Yeah the one in Big Valley stays around until you go near it, then the 2 NPCs and the Bounty Target just 'appear' so just like the just the same as any other random spawn like Gang Hideouts / Campsite Defend / Moonshiner Bootlegger they don't disappear until you do them or away from the area.

I completed all the Bounty infamous missions, pretty good actually. Lots of missions to complete with some badass objective locations and cutscenes - one of the missions were taking place at the Mayor's mansion in Saint Denis. Not totally sure why they didn't advertise it as much, its the best part of the update imo.

okay sold, will buy the license and get to it.

BUT, isn't there a part where you NEED a posse?! like in GTAO, when you NEED at least 2 people or so to do some sort of heist?! that would be...ugh...not so cool!

I don't think likes/dislikes are that significant. The bottom line for T2 is their quarterly returns. If a video is loved but doesn't bring them much money, that's an issue. But if a video is disliked but they earn more than projected, it's a win for them.

As you said, GTA gets plenty of negative videos made about it, some by more well known YouTubers to the community, and that game thrives still, the profits grow and grow, that's all that matters. This company has proven that a bit of internet noise won't stop them, they are immune and too big to fail now.

I strongly disagree with your point that R* are listening to the players. Sure, they'll add a role some want if it can be monitised well and fits in with their grand plan of course, but they don't listen to us enough and it's so obvious now with many requests ignored since they announced we were to shape the game initially. No lobby choices, no outlaw stuff, no properties, no ranches, no other minigames, the story still unfinished, no regular horse races, no option to choose specific showdowns, etc etc, there's much players have long requested that hasn't arrived.

And I disagree that the easiest way to show our dislike is to downvote a video that I don't believe means anything. The easiest way to show our dislike is to simply not log in or buy any of their microtransactions or the standalone game. The only way they may listen is if targets aren't met financially, otherwise it's on with the grand plan.

I do agree with you that the blame lies with the decision makers and not those that are told what to create. And without doubt we are the minority, and I believe places like YouTube are too. Millions of gamers don't read forums or watch videos about games and just get their heads down and enjoy their gaming.

Do I believe a few downvotes on trailers will see them change direction or listen more? Not a chance unfortunately. They have a plan and are sticking to it. :)

No. Creating an idea, figuring out how to develop and implement it, programming it, testing and everything else involved does not happen in a few weeks or months. That role was already planned and had nothing to do with player requests. If they just threw stuff together on the spur of the moment and rushed it out they would end off breaking the game in many ways. Oh, wait.........

As someone else mentioned, they have not listened to players about anything really. In fact, in many cases they are doing the exact opposite of what players want.

Sadly you’re right, they do t listen to us at all, the issue with not logging in or buying micro transactions is that T2 will just axe the game. If GTAO wasn’t so profitable he’s they’d care but since their other game is a cash cow they’ll consider RDO too much of a hassle to revive. People have said it here before (but it will never ever happen) the only way is to boycott both games but honestly Gta is too mainstream and 95% of their audience does not care about RDO to actually do anything.

Maybe this has already been discovered / mentioned but I may be able to possibly spoiler something we may get in time for Christmas, if it's not content that was cut etc. There is a Evans Reaper Variant which as the comment 'Winter', not sure if it's going to be free, cost gold or whatever, however I haven't found any images to go with it at this current time.

Here is the code:

<Items>

 <WeaponName>WEAPON_REVOLVER_LEMAT</WeaponName>
 <Ammo value="100" />
 <Flags />
 <ComponentNames>

COMPONENT_REVOLVER_LEMAT_BARREL_BOUNTY

COMPONENT_REVOLVER_LEMAT_GRIP_BOUNTY

COMPONENT_REVOLVER_LEMAT_SIGHT_BOUNTY

COMPONENT_SHORTARM_ROLE_ENGRAVING_LEMAT_BOUNTY

 </ComponentNames>

 <WeaponName>WEAPON_REVOLVER_EVANS</WeaponName>
 <Ammo value="100" />
 <Flags />
 <ComponentNames>

COMPONENT_REPEATER_EVANS_GRIP_WINTER

COMPONENT_REPEATER_EVANS_SIGHT_WINTER

COMPONENT_REPEATER_EVANS_WRAP_WINTER

COMPONENT_LONGARM_ROLE_ENGRAVING_EVANS_WINTER

 </ComponentNames>

</Items>

So will have to see if it gets added to the game in the next couple of weeks, if at all since the Winter comment doesn't exactly mean Christmas, so don't hate me if it doesn't happen. :)

Also, expect the Krampus Double Barrel Shotgun to return, again don't hate me if it doesn't!

As always I've extracted all the files from the update which can be viewed here: https://rdodlc.xyz/files/bh-update/

Please note, it's everything so includes previous update files.

As much as possible, R* should be thinking "spontaneous" rather than "fixed"... if their code could actually support such a thing, which I think in most cases it could.

Looking for the same events to spawn in the same place(s) gets old ("there might be an ambush here" kind of defeats the whole point of an ambush lol). Finding the same loot in the same location every time gets old; as long as items are matched for their location (can fit in their potential spawn spot) they should be random.

In my mind, the only exceptions are treasure trees (could be extremely hard to find if any tree were used) and events that require specific terrain to work correctly.

The benefits would be:

* More exploration by players who have no idea what they'll find.

* Some players would buy more items rather than trying to find them.

* No more YouTubers harvesting item spawns, since items wouldn't (or shouldn't lol) be reliable.

Maybe, I haven't found anything else that is tagged with the same comment, plus there are no files related to the variant either (unless I've missed them) so it's either already somewhere in the game elsewhere as it's not in the update files any way, so it will require a small update before we actually get it so hopefully some other items comes along with it.

Lol, the evans is the second best overall repeater LFMAO... and the best if you are surrounded and dont want to mind of reloading... just the lancaster and the bolt action are overall better, the springfield and the snipers are more circunstantial in their use.

The Evans is what I use. Didn't buy those other repeaters.

I also prefer the Springfield. Both work great for me.

Variants aren't my thing though. All guns have to match.

Variants are just so lame imo. It would be cooler if they just gave us all those components of a variant individually (grip, engraving, wrap, etc) for a specific gun.

Indeed, there are few long weapon variants that sort of match each other like the lancaster and the pump shotgun.

Christmas parties held at the MacFarlane Ranch and Emerald Ranch would be fantastic.

Music, games, shooting contest and even a free for all brawl. Its not a nightclub in a casino; but it could be entertaining.

Is it a glitch for me or do you only earn the $75 reward from completing a full infamous bounty (all 3) the first time per bounty board?

Too much work and creativity for the 10 interins working in rdo developtment center... as for the other 10 that read our hundreds of feedbacks.

Rockstar really undersold the Infamous Bounties, which have more to them than the Legendary Bounties.

I even looked back at the latest RDO newswire, and all they mention is “Infamous Bounty targets” in a single sentence without any explanation, except just to check the Bounty Boards. Rockstar couldn’t even properly advertise the update.
