I've done several of the $$$ and the "Beau" Legendary at least twice, in face I'm level 30 bounty hunter now (insanely easy to level, while I'm only level 22 in Wheeler Rawson.)

Previous to this update, I remember a couple times doing a LOW $ bounty in Valentine and having it be for a guy by St. Denis and saying, "WHAT?"


 

Level $, single target, optimal payouts also went from $15.00 ($1.50 a minute/$75.00 an hour) to $22.50 ($2.25 a minute/$112.50 an hour). This means that all other difficulties and number of targets have also increased.

 

Now if 10 minutes wasn't the optimal time before, it sure the hell is now. 
I'll have the full payout table and comparison soon.

Updates have been made to existing Free Roam Bounty Missions:

  • Free Roam Bounty Mission timers now do not appear until players have reached the go-to area, gotten close to the target, is escorting the target or there is only one-minute remaining.
  • Missions offered at certain Bounty Boards that are very far away from that board have been removed from that board's Mission pool.

Have they changed? Is 12 minutes still the best time if you want to maximize gold/time?

Gold payouts have not changed. It is still 12 minutes.

I did an infamous bounty last night, left it til about 30 seconds to go and got > 1000 Role XP and about 0.40 gold

Thanks for the heads up, always like reading these kinds of concepts.

They leave a bittersweet taste in the mouth though, when comparing what the game could be - to what the game is and the direction R* is taking it in.

What did you / are you basing your concepts on?

Interesting indeed but the old bounty mission system sometimes are painful and time wasting in terms of finding the bounty and ride back to deliver them. For example if i start the mission from Valentine or Strawberry,the bounty could spawn on top of Mount Hagen lol.

the patch notes mention they cut bounties which makes us do that: ride forever until we get to the mission area.
So far it looks like they're telling the truth, haven't come across anything too tedious yet.

Can recommend the Infamous bounties, they play a bit different

My gut feeling: they changed the gold economy to the point of a) making some pay for MTX but also b) pushing some other people away, because the grind curve is too steep.

Another adjustment would make sense, either by giving us more ways to make gold, increasing gold payouts from missions, or giving dailies a buff again.

I'd expect them to analzye the numbers after a period of time, then make the call. If they don't like what they see, they'll consider changes.
If they don't : why change anything? It's a business.

Not saying I agree with their business model, just calling it how I see it.

they changed the timer, or when the visible timer starts. 

Does the optimal payout range you talk about refer to the visible, in-game timer? Or a timer we can keep ourselves, which starts when the mission begins?

Weren't gold payouts for dailies originally close to the amount we are getting now way back in the early BETA days?

When dailies were first introduced they only gave 0.1 Gold and there wasn't even a streak. 

 

So it's still better now than when they first came out. 

 

But it's worse compared to the state when Red Dead Online left beta in May 2019 and doubled gold payout and introduced streaks.

The only timer that matters is the mission timer. And that starts when you get the loud "BONG" and the text on your screen after grabbing the bounty and ends when you get the same experience after dropping off the bounty.

Yea I thought so.  I did some digging too and realized if you go to the first page of the Daily Challenges thread the .1GB payout is in there too.  I do remember them doing a big buff when they added the streak.

That's a valid point that I never even thought of:  You can have a posse of 7, encouraged to play in a posse, but you can only do story missions with 4. Are Legendary bounties that way as well?  I am just realizing I have never done one with more than 4 people total.

The new player bounties are a nice addition. I also like the fact that we don't have to travel far for some bounties now. Does anyone know how much of a bounty a player has to have for us to hunt them down now?
