If everyone is expecting an extravagant heists DLC like GTA Online got - I feel like we're gonna be disappointed. I mean I hope I'm wrong, but it definitely doesn't feel like RDO has the same scale of developers

I'm not sure about a November 17th release. I mean, I'd love for that to happen. The earlier the better, but my gut feeling is telling me December because it seems like it's too early for Rockstar.

Ā Assassination missions are the ones that gives you the most adrenaline in this game, it was a brilliant idea standing the point for fun in a Old West game and I clap the one who came with it. Always with FUN in mind, so exclude toxic ppl because their are the ones who gives PvP bad reputation, but then again, this is the internet, and toxicity exists everywhere alongside games.

Of course your opinion about PvP is understandable and one should never be forced into it, for that make sure you stay always in Defensive Mode and you won't be targeted by those missions.

wait...is defensive mode different from the passive mode in GTAO?

bc i thought defensive mode was the same.

with being unable to use guns and such.

Heists are highly unlikely as an expansion to the Bounty Hunter.Ā

Personally I don't expect heists or properties at all. It will be more of a honorable or dishonorable Bounty Hunter expansion in the Form of some kind of law or vigilante role or some smaller scale free roam robberies like stagecoaches, shops, people or trains.Ā

The Bounty Hunter extension is the right update to augment the Bounty Hunter role itself, with options for bounty wagon customization for example.Ā

I personally think if this is a big update like heists or something highly requested R* is going to heavily market it, I don't see them doing a stealth release. So if the update is coming out on the 17th or 24th I see us getting a newswire announcement a week before it releases. There are 2 possibilities in my head. The Halloween pass ends on the 16th, either we get an announcement on the 17th or we get an announcement on the 10th for a release on the 17th. I actually think we get an announcement on the 17th and a release on the 24th for a few reasons. First of all they wouldn't want to announce a new update when there is still a week left on the current pass because it might discourage people from buying it, and also by the 24th all territories will have had the next gen consoles released.

We might get Lawman & Outlaw but without heists, instead they can add heists as an expansion to the outlaw in 2021, honestly there is a ton of possibilities.

It would have been better if both sides were limited to one life, instead of one having multiple respawns and the other is limited to one life, would have distributed that sense of adrenaline equally.

As always people are over hyping themselves and after the dlc will be bellow their expectations they will moan on Reddit for months.

True, but aĀ solo vs a posse of many would be near toĀ impossible to get it done. Everytime I start them, against 3+ I always die at least once. Maybe you could get part of the reward for the ones you could kill.

Defensive Mode is awesome, a very improved version of Gtao’s passive, you can do everything but PvP free roam missions, and still attack other players if you want, but with higher penalty on getting dishonor.

I use it exclusively for not being tag with PiB which I find the most ridiculous thing in this game, and for the dim blip.

When I'm getting bored out thereĀ I wish I could volunteer for these things.Ā  Put your name up somewhere that it's open season on you and take off running. But yes, one life only for all involved.Ā  That should alsoĀ be the rule for long distance Trader runs.

Only if it was like "Hunt the Beast" from GTA where your location only pings after a certain time or if you stay in the same place for too long. Once it "pings" a clue is put down like the Bounty Missions and you then leave a trail that people can follow. You are also off radar.

I absolutely love being the target for assassination! Usually I'll find a good place to stand my ground and wait for the hunter to find me, the cemetery in St Denis is the best for this. I had one time where the hunt ended there and we both had so much fun shooting it out and ducking behind the crypts.

Every single timeĀ I will eventually yield and let them claim their reward.

But I'm not going down easy and I want to have a bit of fun with it myself.

that's not 100% accurate, regarding Defensive Mode.
If you're in Defensive, and attack another player, you get pulled out of Defensive immediately.
Your Hostility is increased, and you can't get back into Defensive for some time - depending on what you do after your first attack.

Maybe you meant Hostility instead of "dishonor" , but our Honorable / Dishonorable rating has nothing to do with Defensive Mode, Hostility does.

This is going to be an extremely unpopular comment but I would like to defend the Naturalist update and why I really liked it.

Ā 

First of all I think the Naturalist ROLE was a massive role but not the update if that makes sense. I also do not agree that it was enough after a 7 month drought and terrible lack of communication but I also understand the situation the team was in, better communication could have fixed all that though.

Ā 

Now as to why I like the update, It fixed animal spawns which is a huge deal, personally I don't like the system of sedating animals and all that, I could not care less about it but there are many other things I enjoy about the update. The legendary animal missions are really cool, and as someone who loves trader this update made my trader life much much easier which makes me happy. I personally think the garment sets are cool even though I understand they could have done much more with them, the trinkets were a huge disappointment, but I like this update because it got incorporated into my gameplay loop and I never thought it would. And yes I think the role itself is massive because it does have a ton of content even if most players aren't into the content, it doesn't change the fact there is a lot there.

You are basically resuming a sh*tty execution of a somewhat mediocre-decent idea LMFAO after 7 months of drought... i am sorry but for me it was really bad... the animals spawn working should have been a patch months before it... and the actual contentĀ  that works is really scarce: the clothing is sh*t, the trinkets effects are either bugged or too low to make a difference...and it is unforgivable because most of it was made before march.

The update and role itself was good but suffered from a 7 month drought. If this was the March/April update I think it would have been better received.Ā

The Naturalist arguably had the second best drip feed content, only the Bounty Hunter with legendary bounties was better. Trader, Collector and Moonshiner had non-existent drip feed.

The clothing was a disappointment so overall I don't have particularly strong feelings for this update. I don't hate it but I'm also not thrilled about it.

It was decent and all in all I enjoyed the wildlife focus.Ā

Yes, I meant Hostility instead ofĀ dishonor, my game isnt in English so I tend to use different words when expressing in here, sry for that. :p

I wish Honor/Hostility had more impact on gameplay, 100% honorable players would have a smaller area shown with blips while hostile players would remain with a mix of blue/pinkish one with a bigger distance,Ā npc’s reacting with different behavior depending on your honor/hostility lvl, so many it could be, but I guess we gotta settle for what it is. Hopefully one day in the future R* makes this game more in depth with its RPG potential.

I personally wouldnt... i hate ideas executed so poorly... you cant deliver an update centered around hunting and sedating unique animals and limit the rewards just for the former, and in a sh*tty way... no camps objects, no saddles, crappy clothing,Ā  useless thrinkets... the only decent thing they did in that aspect was the bags for the saddles... and then again didnt have the decency to code it in different colors... then we got gus underwhelming use... etc i better stop as i could bitch them for eternity... the point is there is if there is a essence to the content you are creating you develop it in that direction at it highest... they had 0 vision.

agree both the honor and hostility system could use a few tweaks

Going from high to low hostility should take longer, and there's still at least one "trick" to get peaceful low hostility players out of defensive mode against their wish and through no fault of their own.
Think they could also consider putting chronic high hostility players in a "hostile" lobby, keep them away from others. Haven't had big problems with highly toxic pure griefers, but it's something worth considering.

The honor system has no real impact on gameplay, maybe it'll start meaning something with this new, or future updates.

I respectfully disagree with some of your points.Ā

A) The animal spawns was only fixed for about a week. After that, it was a complete sh*t show. Most of us couldn't even get into lobbies and the game was riddled with game-breaking bugs. Thankfully, R*Ā fixed those issues but it was still very frustrating.

B) The content was "meh". I honestly expected a little bit more from R*. You know?Ā The community-requested features like main story missions and buyable properties.Ā I thought we would get them as fans have been begging for them for over a year. Also, the garments are a joke and the missions are way too repetitive.Ā 

Ā 

Overall, the update was disappointing. I understand the pandemic was and still is a problem for R*Ā but it comes to a point where you have to question them on certain things. Mainly, their decision-making...

Hopefully, they've read our recent comments/opinionsĀ and improve on things in the future. Now, onto the next update!

EDIT: I thought the most recent Halloween update was underwhelming as well but we all knewĀ about that thanks to the experts and the stuff that was left in the files.Ā Ā

Ok let's do some fun final predictions.

I think update will be announced Friday, November 20th for Friday, November 27th.

Ā 

It will be a new role for 30 Gold that requires Bounty Hunter rank 5.

It will be a natural next step for a Bounty Hunter, a law/vigilante role.

Ā 

It will introduce a new upgradable property and story arc tied to the role. It focuses on saving and protection citizens and their property, transporting lawmen and prisoners and introduces survivals.

Ā 

Outlaw Pass #4 will be 40 Gold.
