Eh, I get where you're coming from but I imagine there were locations not too dissimilar that existed in the real world, speakeasy's I'm guessing used whatever space they could to exist, function over form and all that.

There's a bar in Chicago (IIRC?) that still has the original Speakeasy systems in place--a hidden entrance, and shelves w/built-in trap doors for quickly disposing of whatever was on them in case of a raid.

Is it just me or does the entire moonshine shack not make sense. Why is the bar in the basement??? We shouldn't be buying a shack, we should buy a bar (MAIN FLOOR) and the moonshine operation should be hidden in basement. Maggie and the bar should switch places. If we are trying to hide from the law we should own a legit bar and have our operation hidden underneath, similar to nightclub or arcade in GTAO.

You are right, its just gta doesnt have interiors created not accesible and rd does... so i dont think there are actual spaces there that can be used even as a bar on top and cant be entered righ now, and rockstar has always been against modyfing  the gameplay or designs of existing features... they always create new things, never start from already existing material, at least not in a drastical fashion. I am wary about the rancher because of the same, there arent many free cottages nor ranchs that can be used and more than adding content will be a change itself.

The part I don't get is that in 1898-99, prohibition wasn't even enacted into law yet. In fact if I am not mistaken it only was a thing during the 1920s and 30s. But I guess fictional world means the dates don't have to be perfect.

Plus plenty of bars can be found in towns, so I wonder what makes ours any different? Maybe we just don't have the paperwork / licenses to sell and produce alcohol? Edit: or are we just going underground to dodge the taxman (2 music puns there, neither intended)?

Not sure if I understand correctly, you mean one member out of the posse stays close to get the pop up and get the reward, then he gets in and another one leaves and repeat ? Is that it?

The game will know you’re part of it and unless the leader kicks you it would work just once so you would have to jump sessions to redo it, not worth the struggle for the low pay. Also, the abusing is easy to adress having a cooldown. To farm money and gold would be better to just do the usual rotation of roles, events, dailies and missions.

yes, that's how I would do it.

A cooldown would be good, agreed.
Not sure how the game will know you're a part of it, and how it would work just once.

Something similar already works with the "Hunt the Leader" daily challenge: Get 3 to 8 people in a lobby.
Up to 7 go in one posse, the remaining friend stays close. The posse starts Hunt the Leader, the friend gets a quick kill. Everyone gets the reward.

How much do we get for a player bounty now? How much do you propose we get with the new system?

They’ve added new stuff to the world of GTAO like arcades and bunkers.

I think that is the gist of it; booze isn't illegal in RDO's world but it is taxed and regulated and the government employs super soldier agents to make sure they get their DAMN MONEH!!

Yeah, thats the point, all on places that didnt have interiors that we could enter too so they created new... they would need the same for bars here, actual spaces that can withhold them by shape and werent accesible at that moment so they could create them, its was just way harder than finding one for a stack + subt bar. They have always been against actions that really change existing features, as letting us buy existing salooms and limiting their access would be... they also never create external structures from scratch... lazy douchs... the bunkers are basically vaults outside.

As soon as you enter a session and the leader had to start the posse (assuming is a permanent one) to kick you, the game has registered you as a former member so you wont be able to get the pop up for the bounty on that posse, if someone  in the posse never created a pernanent one and start a non permanent posse inviting the members but one, it will work, but as soon as he kicks one to do the rotation the game will have registered the one who left as being part of the recent abandoned posse. Unless all the members jump sessions to reset it, thats why it would work just once with each member and not being invited for the posse in that session.

I know it may be complicated to code this but as a developer thats what I would do to prevent it hehe, but the cooldown is a much more easier solution of course.

The “Hunter the Leader” counts only for the daily right? It has no payout from what I remember, I did just once back on release so I dont know exactly how it works.

Player Bounty is based on their crimes from what I see, the more they accumulate the more is the payout if delivered alive, I always hunt for Player Bounties when they pop up, but the short range is so garbage that I could only do 2 successfully, most of them even accepting the mission never started, the payouts were 20$ and 30$, I dont know how high can it go.

I see what you mean... and I agree, it sounds a bit complicated... but I don't dislike the general idea

Hunt the Leader is one of the dailies, correct. If there's a payout, it's not much. Don't remember.

Have never been able to complete a player bounty, it never works for me.

Am I right in assuming that players with bounties over $10 show up on the mini-map as a "red skull" (like target icons in NPC bounties)?

I ask, as I've been "that guy"; the catch is that from my end, players coming after me and my bounty weren't shown on my mini-map--they were off the radar--at least when I had NPC bounty hunters trying to kill me at the same time.

Correct, they show up on the radar as red skull AFTER you accept to hunt the bounty when they pop up, but I think the minimum for it is 20$, below that it won't pop up, at least thats what I saw, I wish it could be lower.

I've never been targeted as bounty because I always keep mine clear, so I don't know about the hunter being off radar, if thats the case I love it  ^^ :D

I always thought that was the case but even though my honor is 100% good and I carry no bounties I was still targeted once. Glitch maybe. Anyway, I saw where the hunter was, went to meet him and stood there while he shot me. Why not.

That is odd--especially if it wasn't one of the assassination missions (launched via stranger mission).

I've always enjoyed evasion (when given a fair chance); a fast horse and some knowledge of the map definitely helps.

Like @DentureDynamite said, are you sure it wasnt an Assassination Mission given by a stranger? Cuz that is apart from bounties as I'm aware about, and it seems even honor as I was already targeted once too and I'm always with 100% honor good or close to it.

I don't know. All I know is I was a target. But I read someplace that defensive players were not supposed to be targeted in assassination missions. Maybe that changed.

Here's a question: specifically for PC if it make any difference...can a player change their name?

There was an asshat shooting up Blackwater who turned dark red after shooting other players, and as I went to use the fast travel he put a couple into me, so I reported it as disruptive behavior when back at camp. He left shortly afterwards.

Quite a while later a supposedly different red character show up in the player list, and on viewing the profile it was the same red one as before: same name in profile, different name in the player list.

Is there a legit way to do this or is this an example of cheating?

If people can use namechangers on GTA using mod menus and they can use mod menus on RDO to be godmode etc, I think its more than likely they can change their name at will.

I'm not on PC, but I wouldn't be surprised if it can be done.

When you report someone you are reporting their account. If they use a different game name under the same account it won't shield them from R*. Even though you reported for disruptive behavior, they'll flag the account and if they were using a mod it'll be discovered.

I've been extremely hard on R* but I do have to give them credit that several months back they implemented something to detect people using mods. Before then I was running across modders in every lobby at any time day or night and usually within the first 30 minutes of joining a lobby. What they implemented has reduced the number of modders to a very small percentage of what it was. Reading another forum with people who got caught by R*, they can get caught within a few minutes of using them for the first time. Any modders you run across now are one of several things.

1. People who have gotten through the initial 1 month ban and figured they'd come back and try again and don't care if they get caught again, as long as they can f**k with people.

2. New players who don't think they'll get caught or just don't know they can't use them online (which I find hard to believe since every mod sight I've seen says you can get banned for using them online).

In order to get caught they have to actually get in the game and use the mods, so you'll run into them occassionally. That does not mean, as some people scream about, that R* has done nothing about modders.

Most modders will appear red, especially a really, really dark red, in the player list. I suggest that whenever anyone sees a red player in the list, just switch lobbies. Be careful not to report anyone that the screen claims killed you during one of those actions where everyone on the server gets sent to one place and set on fire or blown up. The name of the "killer" is not the person who did it. The modder selected that name to appear on your screen. I'm pretty sure that if that innocent person is reported R* will see no altered files on that player's system when they do a scan but it's better not to bother.

This, its not Prohibition because booze is legal. You are not paying the taxes or following any laws as well as making dangerously strong alcohol.

I have been told a little while ago by someone on a stream that changing the player name that appears in game is possible legitimately on PC, though I don't know how.

I only report players for cheating when I'm sure, for example the god mode guy that killed me using a repeater.

I tried to report him a second time under the second name and I got a message that I'd already reported him, then the game froze and I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out of it, lost 4 small gator pelts (which I needed for the daily) thanks to that.

Anyway, I keep a list of names to watch for, partly to be able to be somewhat prepared for hostile activity, and partly so I don't do any good deeds to those who don't deserve it.

That's it.

It's no different today.

Try selling unregistered goods as a business and see what happens.

It gets declared contraband because no taxes were paid. All governments take taxes more seriously than many other issues.

I have no idea if it's possible since I haven't tried but even if it is it's still the same account which is why you got the message about reporting them already. I've been disconnected a few times with the same message.

I did a quick check and this link is all I found for what it's worth: https://www.reddit.com/r/PCRedDead/comments/es1fr6/if_you_change_your_rdo_pc_character_name_via/

Here's a link to R* info: https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/200146096/How-to-change-your-Social-Club-nickname-or-email

I have no idea if it resets your character but judging from the R* post I would guess not, but I'll wait for someone else to test it. 😏

While I was searching I found a video and the player list had 48 people in it. I never remember it having that many. That was from April 2019.

Nah, they're criminals. They didn't try to arrest Maggie, just burn her and her place down. I meanwhile am an anti-hero because I do good things... in a bad way.

Cheaters, however, can put on a fake name spoof, but that still doesn't make them immune to reports.

rollschuh2282

so i have now the moonshiner role too.

and did one of those missions to lower the price to produce the moonshine, got the one in which i had to kill the enemies in 2 law outposts...and f*cking hell...i got headshoted dozen of times like when i was on a hill and they were on the ground.

or just shooting one guy and another killed me...reminds me of the aimrbot enemies in GTAO.

and then i did the 1st moonshine story mission, and damn, that guy i have to save in not really bug free.

like after the "maggie you´re alive" or something, he stood still for a bit like when bugged and then the enemies spawned after like 10 sec.

and i had to even quit the mission once, bc it hardlocked even and you don´t get ammo back when re-trying from checkpoint...so i was out of bullets.
