I'm not sure if they are still working from home or not, but production has restarted on TV shows and movies with filming, they have to follow COVID safety regulations/guidelines though. I could only imagine that mocap might be in a similar boat, but nobody actually knows.

 

All we know is that a new update is coming in a few months. It's highly likely we will see new mocap performances/animations through cutscenes with this new "augmentation of existing role" update.

I guess it also depends in which country and city they are doing their mocap in. Some places are going back into lockdown or having more restrictions set on them. If they do it in the USA from what I hear restrictions vary drastically from state to state. Hoping the December update will be much larger than we all expect (not expecting much btw, especially after they called naturalist "massive").

This one must be really good after this sh*tty 11 months... otherwise we will need the clowns again... if the balls drops to naturalist level  i am personally gone until spring... bye bye streak, i dont care.

 what i am worried its quality and diversity... that they create content that actually works, that actually sway us... a company as big as this should have testers that give feedback and wishlists... either they are sh*tty or they dont listen to them it seems... for example and just to begin an update related to animals and hunting needs good trappers cloths and items...what did we got ?

The game could use enough content to get us from one update to the next.
We haven't gotten that in too long. Updates only last a couple weeks to a couple months, then everything's maxed out and things get stale again.
It pains me to read well thought out concepts from some of you, improvement suggestions, etc. - wonderful ideas, but some of them should be in the game already.

Covid threw a monkey wrench into the entire world, but it's very clear that R* hasn't given this game enough attention. There's a huge difference between the game's potential, and where it is now.

I've played the game since day 1 (and I've taken breaks from it), it's getting harder and harder to stay loyal and keep playing

We need different gameplay loops, not the same old "go here, fetch this, drop it off over there". We need Mexico and Guarma. We need a roadmap that looks 3,6,9,12 months ahead.
Like any good book or movie needs an arch, we need an arch for our online character. One that takes a year or longer to follow. Something that keeps us engaged. Where's our arch? I don't see it.


Am looking forward to comments and input from you guys. Maybe I've got a slight case of the fall blues that influences how I think about this game, but damn I hope we don't look back in 5 years and say "Remember RDO? What ever happened to that game. Such a shame, what a wasted opportunity"

I don't recall the actual film referenced above (Career Opportunities), but The Hot Spot is one I do remember.

Precisely--the difference is interactivity between NPCs, which R* currently flips their middle finger to.

 

The only "interactivity" between NPCs you'll find in RDO are the random encounter duels; and if you interfere with those in any way, you'll get a wanted level and a horde of OP lawmen after you.

 

...but it's OK for NPCs to shoot each other in broad daylight in downtown Valentine and no-one blinks an eye. Meanwhile, I kill a chicken in remote Lagras and I'm a wanted outlaw suddenly "engaged in combat".

 

RDO's AI is completely slanted to blame and attack players. Period. Makes for a very shallow (read: pathetic) game play experience.

you can intergate with NPC by throwing emotes to them. they will react to them, but its far from the SP-feeling....

True--but it's very limited; you can wave at them and get a positive response, then flip them off for a negative one, then immediately go back to positive; lather, rinse, repeat.

 

Highly canned, and not very believable.

 

I always roll my eyes at the unavailable content the female NPCs in Saloons keep hinting at (prostitution). May as well delete all that dialog, R*... we know you'll never add it in-game.
