Thats Red Dead Redemption 1. Set after the end of RDR2. This footage is from the end game of RDR1 so it's more than ten years after the end of RDR2's main story.

Red Dead redemption 1 had an online part too so thats why I asked!

John was born in 1873, so 38 in 1911.

Ah, I thought he was about twenty-five/twenty-six in RDR2.

Yea, the time jump between RDR2 and its Epilogue and then the other jump between that and RDR1 threw me off.

Is this online or story mode?

Storymode - the first Red Dead Redemption.  My focus, was on the architecture, NPC interactions and dialogue.

Saint Denis, was not a location in Red Dead Redemption (I wish it were).

Buy a second hand Xbox One and RDR1, play it and then return it.

I knew a guy who owned the x-box-one + RDR "remastered" etc...I talked him into lending it to me for a month or so, very cool, it was during the "wait" for RDR2. best RDR-experience then I gotta say, especially since the 1st time I played the game in 2010 I had it connected without HD cable + it was on an old brick tv. a small piece of sh*t without a remote. the visuals are still beautiful if you ask me. I enjoyed every day of the time I had with it, again. so far, so far awaaaaaay. no matter how you often you play it's great every time. like max payne 1!

anyhow that x-box-one version is definitely the best edition of the game. you should at least try it via rental ofr a weekend or so, totally recommendable

Especially the One X version with native 4K. Also makes sense even if you have a 1080p TV because the original was in 720p.

And if you want to experience RDR1 and 2 in native 4K and also want a nextgen console, then just get the series x. It doesn't really make sense to buy an Xbox One right now anyway (borrowing makes sense of course).

EDIT: I wonder if the system could double the framerate of RDR1, since it already increases the resolution. But I think there might be problems, the game engine and animation could be tied to the 30 frames.

So even if R* doesn't allow Xbox to double the framerate of RDR2 to 60 on Series X and S (because they want to sell us a remaster), then at least the original RDR in 60fps could be a game changer but like I said, there could be technical issues.

Has anyone else got the new hat and chaps reward? The hat is actually the unreleased one.

Getting stuff a week early is a good reward.

That it is.

On a side note, I finally got to play it with the online perks and it made the game new to me. Lol, even got to see the headless npcs in Undead Nightmare firsthand, that was fun.

Since we're approaching the launch of the PS5, I thought to create a concept of the core of the PS5 control centre featuring what Rockstar could do with the PS5 UX features in hopes of them supporting it for their game titles.

We need a pipe smoking animation Emote, John smokes one in Single Player.

I wouldn't even care if they used up Cigarettes instead of adding a new "Pipe Tobacco" item.

There's a cheap PS3 on Amazon and RDR on Amazon is only $10. Worth owning just for the one game.

I wont go near them and if we pass I will move out of the road, holster my weapons and not move. If needs be I will use the Surrender Emote as well. Never had an issue.

I'm usually riding with my varmint rifle ready, but if I see a player on a wagon, I'll holster it on the horse and turn 90 degrees off the road and head away from them, only slowing down for cliffs, rocks or trees.

That seems to work well enough that they never take pot shots at me.

I was riding through a ford across the Montana River north of Blackwater once when a posse of 5 or 6 came through from the opposite side, they were on their mics saying "stay away", so I did the same thing and rode at a right angle up the river a bit to another spot I could get up the far bank.

Another time I came across a lone trader doing a distant sale and I rode way off the road and kept facing the opposite direction until they were almost out of sight and she thanked me for being peaceful over the mic.

I figure if you stop that may make them nervous. so I keep riding away, besides I'm on my way somewhere.

I have been passed on the road by others who were going the same way while I was checking the map, so I wait and follow at reduced speed, that should make it clear I'm not trying to catch up. That usually happens on the way to Strawberry for some reason.

I played it a bit on my son's 360 while waiting for RDR2 PC release.

That's where I found out I can't get used to a controller, so had to get a converter to use a keyboard and mouse, that made it a lot more comfortable.

talking about distance sales, how does that work for other players?
do you show up on the map for every player from anywhere on the map like in GTAO, or the same as normal freeroam with short distance.

and i did todsay my first distant sale, and i fully expected to be attacked (ptsd from GTAO)

but i arrived at the destination without issue.

and i am still surprised how peaceful lobbies are.

i rode today when going somewhere right next to a another player (like we used the same road but rode in opposite directions)

and didn´t get attacked.

The wording of the alert makes it sound like only other Traders will be alerted to your wagon's location but I'm not sure if non-Traders can see it as well. At any rate, the blip isn't visible across the ENTIRE map, but it does have a pretty substantial range. Plenty of time for someone inclined to rob you to figure out where you're headed and potentially set up an ambush.

So, who is going to be playing RDO on new hardware on the 10th or 12th of November? Or the 19th if you are unfortunately "the rest of the world".

Not me lol

There's no reason to buy either NG console right now considering literally everything is playable on CG for the foreseeable future, and pretty much everything(Except maybe C* games) get free upgrades

I'm upgrading when the exclusive GTA upgrade is out

I seriously doubt it, at least as far as RDO goes. After all the next "massive update" could be a growing, picking and arranging flowers role. Not worth the money.

I'm not currently playing any other games but might end up getting Ride4 which will be just fine on my PS4.

The whole point of free aim is not auto lock on.

Perks or ability cards are part of red dead online combat system. It would be dumb af if I had spent $21,600.00, maxing 'em all out and cannot use 'em in free aim.

Ability cards don't hold your hands. They make the combat more interesting.

Ability cards reduce the amount of real skill people need to use. I'm one of those in favor of doing away with them and tonics and autoaim/aim assist. Free aim should be just that, free aim, with no help from cards or anything else.

I'd assume that most high level players by now have trader unlocked

There's a perk you unlock at Trader Lvl 7, which lets you see other players' deliveries at a longer distance.
Never tested out how much of a difference it makes, though.

The biggest distance I saw between myself and a trader delivery was me in the middle of the Heartlands, and the delivery close to Armadillo
