The animation clearly shows him putting it into your hand, but nothing is added to your inventory.

 

It was working fine until the last couple of weeks or so...

It's happened to me a couple of times with the Blackwater beggar. Had the animation that he gave me something, continued giving him money until I no longer had the option, but didn't get the rat added to my inventory.

 

I put it down to either a glitch or RNG.

I get that R* are damned if they do, damned if they don't when it comes to the dripfeed. Personally, I don't like them, I'd prefer to have all the content day one and be allowed to pace myself however I choose, but I do appreciate that some players like the dripfeed.

 

Even in a year such as this, where playable content has been more difficult to make, I still think R* could have gone some way towards filling the gap by adding a substantial amount of cosmetic items. Lots more clothing, more horses, new customisable carts and wagons, and personal properties would have been a huge crowd pleaser.

 

I just think that GTAO is much more suited to the drip feed, even without new missions, new cars are an event in themselves, you can just about get away with a new car and a bonus on something. A new hunting mission and some discounts just doesn't seem to cut it in RDO.

Nah, likely it'll be something sometime around mid-November to early-December. They like to have a big new content dump out around the holidays to drum up interest.

Its "extensions and augmentations to an existing role" in December.

Either for Bounty Hunter or Collector. Similar to the December 2019 update that introduced the moonshiner role, an extension of the trader.

When you turn the burner up, the game just runs a script to make it follow a pre-determined path. When you back off, it just pauses that script. No actual physics behind it.

No sooner than december, rockstar is moved by the greens so for them the closer to christmas the better..  for the sake of selling the gold to the kiddos we all now how things are... i just wish they had the kindness and the fairness to recognise the drought we endured and the sh*tty content delivered afterwards, so that at least they release it the first week of december instead of the second one as they tend to do.

I am not fond of the vehicles wishlist, it just goes against the western vibe of this game, even if it set in the last breath of it.  Better if they include this type of content with a sequel with jack in the 1914-1918s, but at it is is should be out of the picture... or at least the last of the wishes in the agenda... it is also a cheap way to sell gold, with low work and creativity involved, i am not spoiling this greedy douchs... if they want to drain us, develop nice and fancy clothing, weapons, horses, let us modify our vehicles, properties etc... earn the f*ck... money.

I agree,

Because I've supported the game since day 1 of beta, stuck with it through some serious droughts, and kept playing through times when it wasn't really playable, there's a part of me that feels entitled to a lot more content, updates, roles..... all that stuff.

But I realize R* and Take2 won't reward my loyalty. They don't think that way. You can see it in the special offers, vouchers and discounts: almost all geared towards new players.
They're a business. They'll make business decisions I won't agree with.

I expect the update at the last possible minute in December. If it's dropped before that, it's because that helps Rockstar's bottom line. Not because of my misplaced and unrealistic sense of entitlement.

the balloon uses the same code as helicopters in V.

with very similiar controls, and the ballon even has a own handling entry

the only thing i noticed using mods, (maybe a issue with the trainer)

The map just does not seem designed to support motor vehicles.

have a look at the ‘bonuses & benefits’ section at the bottom. The artwork is 100% a Sharps 1874/Buffalo Rifle from Redemption 1. At this point it’s like they’re mocking the people who want it back, it’s the only gun from 1 that’s yet to return

I'm surprised they haven't added the M1899 pistol or the Rare Rollingblock into RDO yet, the only story mode firearms left that are not unique to certain characters. The two weapons added in the last update were underwhelming and not very viable to use.

 

I wonder if they will add a gunrunning role into RDO. Nevertheless, would like new additions such as the Howdah pistol (4 barrel shotgun pistol), Martini Henry (made famous from Zulu movies) or just a Musket Rifle (unlike GTAO it is more fitting to the time period).

I have gotten that a couple of times, I just thought I missed the notification, and I never counted my rat carcasses so I wouldn't know for sure if I got it or not, but probably didn't.

I'm assuming that the couple of times I didn't get a notification that I received nothing.

They could make it hilarious to us that the balloon is only stearible up and down and all other movement is random!

Some of the online interiors are located in the sky. Rockstar would have to move down them under the map if they wanted to allow the Balloon's in the freeroam.

Or set an altitude ceiling, where the balloon could not go above, but above that limit is where the interiors are, hidden

that's how steering balloons works in real life.
You can only control how much heat you add or weight you carry, which generates or takes away lift.
Where the baloon goes, depends on where the wind takes you.
Different altitudes have different wind directions, so the trick is knowing which direction the wind goes at which altitude.

Would be awesome to get it implemented like IRL.

What? Sony offered them ALOT of money and R* said yes. R* has always been bummy with Sony and PS. Sony has the money to buy exclusives timed but Microsoft has the money to buy entire companies. Beth has always been very friendly with Microsoft, since they let them go mad with Morrowind on the Xbox.

 

MS has promised what? What have they backtracked on?

Not always, Microsoft was the first to bum up to R* by making it so the old Xbox got the GTA IV DLC first.

Microsoft partnered with Rockstar in a US$50 million deal to bring two episodic downloadable content packs to the Xbox 360:[71] The Lost and Damned on 17 February 2009,[72] and The Ballad of Gay Tonyon 29 October 2009.[73] The episodes were released together as Episodes for Liberty Cityfor Windows and PlayStation 3 on 13 April 2010 in North America and 16 April in Europe.

It's just our turn on PS, lol. I do agree it's crap but also, the Xbox lot were all roses when it was the other way around so I'm less sympathetic when I read the Xbox B&M's about it all. 🤣

Ahh, I stand corrected. I hadn't thought of that nor knew about it, lol. Was way before I 'internet' with gaming.

 

But as we've both shown, it's a common thing for R* to partner up. A shame for those on the waiting side of things, but nothing new and shocking in an area so dominated by money, fast returns and circle jerking. Look where it's all gone. 🤣😢😭

This is the unfortunate thing of it all. As gaming gets more popular and microtransactions grow to target those keen, kids, and whales etc, the idea of voting with our wallets grows more and more redundant it feels. But I do hope this company can entertain me for the next 20 plus years like they have the previous. :)

Did you have that PS1 demo disk with the twenty-minute demo?

A small vocal minority "voting with their wallets" does not have the same effect when millions more are voting with microtransaction purchases.

Sony bought 2 GTA exclusives in 2005 and 2006 with Liberty City and Vice City stories for PSP and PS2, after the timed exclusivity for SA and VC as previously mentioned.

 

R* really only became a Xbox/PS publisher and GTA a Xbox/PS franchise because I guess MS was scared that they miss Xbox again with IV so they made a timed exclusive deal for the DLC.

 

But this was the last time R* did this kind of deal. Since then, no R* game or DLC was exclusive or timed exclusive on PS or Xbox.

 

I also see there are many misconceptions about the R*/PS partnership regarding GTA5 NextGen right now.

To clear things up: GTAV and Online will launch the same day on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, with the difference that PS5 players can play Online free for 3 months, after that they have to pay and they don't have access to story. Seems more like R* testing f2p for a seperate online product for casuals and makes Sony pay for it and nothing that really concerns us.

 

RDR1, GTA5 and RDR2 all released on Xbox and PS the same day and this will continue going forward. They only have a Sony partnership for marketing purposes and some promotions for online but that's it.

 

As an Xbox player this doesn't bother me. Quite the opposite, I'm happy I play on One X since I can experience the best console version with native 4K thanks to R* great optimization for this system.

I want to say yes, but not 100% sure. Although back then I did get PlayStation magazines regularly for new demos (well me and my mates, whoever got it that month would share), that I can't imagine not having played it so. Man that takes me back!

 

I do remember one demo that I'd need to look up again, it was beachball madness or something like that. Basically we were a ball and had to bounce around so many little areas and platforms. One of those games that both was awesome fun but so frustrating with how we'd fail at times. Classic times indeed.

Forgetting about San An is one thing I'm less ashamed of being guilty of, but those PSP games I should have realised Sony's exclusivity with before I commented above. I've still got my copies and PSP and play them now and then to this day. 

 

One thing I do hope is that R*'s back catalog all gets uploaded to next gen so I can have it all in one place. GTA IV and RDR last and the PSP games too. I'd really love it if the top down games went into arcade machines in GTA:O too as a quirky addition.

This is really my only request to R*.

I played Vice City Stories back in the day on PS2 and I really want to revisit this classic but as you can guess, I don't have a PS2 or the game anymore.

I really only like to have one gaming system in my household and the games that don't work on the new system are a waste of space as well.

 

It bothers me a little bit. I can play RDR2 and RDR1 on my X which is great, but I need to play Red Dead Revolver on PS4. I can play GTA SA, 4 and 5 on my X as well, but 3 and VC are only on PS4. But I can't play VCS and LCS on PS4, they are only on PS2 and you don't have access to these games today.

 

R* should offer a classics collection with the option for seperate purchases. And they should try to bring GTA4 and RDR1 to PS4/5 in some form if Sony doesn't bother with backwards compatibility.

 

It's really all over the place. I know you can get most of them on PC, but not LCS and VCS, and not to mention Chinatown Wars. Also GTA4 runs like sh*t on modern CPUs and PCs in general. Really the best GTAIV version will be on Series X with 60fps which makes everything more complicated lol

MS promised that backwards compatible games woule be enhanced.  I think the series s, the lower tier console, was included in the original promise.  But MS backtracked.  

 

Another reason the GTAO announcement was stupid.  Because the game is guaranteed backwards compatible and enhanced on XB.  But the being short on details has been their mo as of late.  The need to clear this up.
