Just to single out two of your many good points, it's really disappointing that the train circling the map isn't a passenger train we can either rob or hop a legit ride on (or just ride on the roof like the freight train).

Even the freight trains occasionally spawning with a heavily guarded boxcar full of valuables would be cool, instead of them having nothing at all.

The Naturalist role was the one opportunity they had to do something amazing with legendary animals.

The sheer number of them we've had and their variants.. can you imagine the amount of amazing outfits we could be making?

Nope, just stick the animal's head on the same coat, to hell with proportion size.

Honestly, f*cking pathetic.

They arent even competent to drain our nuggets, i would have seriously give a f*ck if they charged on gold all the legendary clothing, if it were unique or at least single player level quality wise... then we got other missed opportunities, like special gang weapon variants or unique breeds or coats etc, that people would invest dozens even hundreds of gold i am sure... starting with revenant and the other pal that is sitting in the 3000s... what will they do with all their nuggets ? There is no meaning behind the grind.

Been over 2 years since the game released and still no horse selling.

Knowing how Rockstar designs Red Dead Online, I think we can all agree that R* plans stealing, taming and selling horses to be part of a role in the future.

Exactly man.

They could have added variants of all the story mode trapper outfits, charged gold only and I'd be sitting talking to you right now with zero gold cos I spent every nugget on the outfits.

I can only hope that they maintain Gus' store over time rather than leave it to collect dust.

^^ Possibly even part of an Outlaw role?

I hope it isn’t part of any role. They need to start adding content to the base game and stop locking everything out behind roles.

You make it sound as if I've implied some kind of rumor or an indirect hint. I'm just suggesting one of many other possible approaches to sort out a proper gameplay approach.

My apologies. It wasn’t really aimed at you but was me venting my frustration at rockstar while using your quote.

This game has one of the best single player experiences I have ever played and rockstar has some of the best talent in the games industry which is why it’s even more upsetting with the way online has turned out.

Coming up it's our Outlaw Role!

"Prepay 40 Goldbars for the f*cking privilege to point your gun at NPC's and grind out 10 cents. Yee-Haw!

Not enough to wet that whistle cowpoke? Well, for $1000 you can change the clothes of the sad fat man and only permanent part of your camp. Dress him up in our Outlaw Outfit - it's regular dirty old clothes!

Still not convinced? Well, no outlaw would be without a serious bank job to plan so for an additional 15 Gold bars you can purchase the Heist Planning Tent. In this tent you and four other randoms on mute the whole time will charge down a predetermined yellow lined path into a bank and- CUT SCENE and then CUT SCENE, but then then PRESS X TO ROB AND CUT SCENE.

Then shoot your way out because we give you No Rootin' Tootin' Choice. You're an Outlaw! No follow our rules! Ya Hoo!"

Spoiler

R* doesn't know how to support Red Dead Online.

Idk what any of this actually means and I know steam shouldn't be the only way a game's popularity is measured by they are the only platform that releases player numbers. So over the past few weeks GTAO numbers have slowly dropped and RDO numbers have gone up slowly. Nothing too drastic but GTAO has dropped from an average of over 120k daily players to around 90k. RDO has gone from an average of 15k to an average of 25+k daily players. I know the games are nowhere each other but I just find all of this very weird. Especially this surge for RDO since no new content has released during this change. People can point out that RDR2 is 30% but this is not the first time that has happened.

Its 100% the sale, and trust me the majority isn't playing RDO.

When you first join online, you meet those horse fences if I remember right, and they mention they'll have their "business" up and running at some point. Been over 2 years since the game released and still no horse selling. We can't even sell horses we've bought when we want to get rid of them.

Why R* dont add the sell option for horses? The way i see it,its because they afraid when they do add it,most of the players will find quick way to make some ''easy cash'' and of course that will give them another problem for their incompetencies.

My friend mentioned a good solution to this last night, just make them only sell for a few dollars. Sure, it'll not make a whole lot of sense, but neither do a lot of the prices in the game. The only reason I can think for them not implementing this is that they have plans for a more detailed system similar to selling high end stolen cars in GTA Online.

Interesting, didn't think about it before. But that few dollars still something to someone who needs money. And i hope you are right about they have good plans in this matter.

Maybe it's just me here but, I think it's a bit unreasonable to say "the game has been out for 2 years and we still can't do xyz" when the game was in early access from November 2018-May 2019 and this past year has no doubt been a huge setback to their plans. That leaves them with 9 months of normalcy within the game's lifespan, of which they've released 3 updates, one major.

I know this might be controversial but the train spawning with a boxcar full of goodies could be the Armoured Vans of RDO. Make it a challenge, block out the main cars windows, loads of guards, armoured car, Maxim Guns on the train, repeating shotgun armed guards etc.

They could take the War Wagon from the RDO story and make that spawn transporting goods as well.

If we now getting buildings to call home do we lose the camp?

And secondly what do we pay 8 dollars for in the game? And sometimes 13! I only got my camp which is 1 or 2 dollars and stable is 3.75.

This sounds good except for one thing. When was the last time R* had good plans for anything in RDRO? 😄

It's on their roadmap, but I believe they probably want to integrate it with some kind of role, or maybe equip it with a similar system akin to GTAO's daily limit, tracking stats and preventing any kind of exploit or misuse. Such requirements would surely delay the arrival of this desired feature.

It sucks a little bit, but at least it may help in minimizing the time spent on patching all the "aftermath" glitches, and accordingly redirect their focus into making newer content or resolving more important bugs.

I can see where some aspects of game play more or less require a "role" in terms of logistics (e.g. Moonshiner needing a cabin, 'cook', wagon, etc.)

However, IMO something as simple as stealing a horse and selling it to a 'Horse Fence' shouldn't require a role. R* could easily limit which horses are sellable by giving most horses in the game a burned-in brand. GTA Online simply used the "this car is too hot to sell at LSC" excuse.

That way, finding a wild horse (or owned, but not yet branded horse) would be harder to find but still completely open to all players. You could even have honest players trying to recapture a horse in the process of being stolen and return it to its owner for a reward.

I jest but it does confuse me. As someone that grew up in the English countryside the idea of buying a pair of proper hard-working and wearing boots only to have your pants trail on the ground and get covered in mud, grass and whatever the f*ck else seems foolish to me. Why buy high boots if you are not going to use them for what they were intended for? To keep your pants clean and away from wear and tear.
