Excellent work by OnlyPVPcat.

 

Some interesting findings that line up with other things as well.

 

Extensions and augmentations coming to the Bounty Hunter in the form of the Outlaw role this December makes sense. Along with the M1899 Pistol.

 

Will we see the next price hike as well?

Last December the cost for roles went up from 15 to 25. The Naturalist was 25 as well. This December it could be 35 Gold for the Outlaw and 45 for Outlaw Pass #4.

Hopefully, the leaks are real. I'd happily buy some special dynamite for a Outlaw role. But saying that, the role should've been in the game from day 1. Right now though, things are looking good for RDO.

Yeah most probably. The bigger the update, the more expensive items.

Didn't they just cost more cause we only had one role?

It would have been 75 gold instead of 45 if the original roles had that price, which would be incredibly overwhelming for the average player

Wanna see something weird?

Look at your characters face and do two sharp whistles then a long one (Up, Up, Hold Up on the D-Pad) and watch their mouth.

I don't think we'll get the M1899 until the December update at the earliest. It having an Online catalogue page means it's almost definitely coming, but no price in the files, as yet, means it's probably not coming SOON™.

Why do the new arrows not make sense in free roam?
It depends on what effects they produce on a player.
They could add a new dimension to free roam PvP - especially considering the increased range of the Improved Bow.

Indeed, and in fact, the less modes and more focus free roam gets, better. The same with the zombies, I rather have them happening in free roam than in a boring mode. Everything that could be possible being add in free roam instead of modes would make more sense to play in free roam, modes sucks.

They don't make any sense in free roam because why would anyone choose to confuse or limit the stamina etc. of another player over killing them? 

 

As for the range of the improved bow, none of those arrow types would come close to competing with the current meta of improved bow + PIB 3 + dynamite arrows. 

 

That's without touching on the established fact that R* have gone out of their way, since Beta, to limit PvP in free roam to an absolute minimum. R* know the majority of the player base doesn't want PvP, they've said it's not popular, they've implemented proximity blips, parley after one kill, defensive mode and the vast majority of all Role based activities have no PvP element at all.

 

I have no inside knowledge, but looking back over almost 2 years of content and implementations shows a trend that's impossible to ignore, and that is that content tends to be very PvE, and solo player, friendly.

I agree that game modes are sh*t, but I don't think it's likely that we're going to see zombie hordes marauding across the Heartlands this Halloween. It's not impossible, R* could make zombies random encounters in free roam, but I think it's more likely that they will be part of either a showdown mode or a new survival mode.

I find it odd that the next role is supposed to be an outlaw role. Especially if it is supposed to be an extension to the bounty hunter role. You would think they would have the outlaw missions separate from the justice tree. 

 

As long as my bounty hunter can hunt down people using the outlaw role I will be happy.

Off topic:  Do any of our Canadian friends know what happened with Coca-Cola and the "out for a rip" guy?  Never did see if he won his suit or settled or what the outcome was.... @kcole4001 @IamCourtney Sorry for tagging you, first two I could think of.

with the streak going via the daily challenges you can make 5 to 10 bars and a bit more a day. I tend to forget that, as last time in the store I thought to myself ´ EH THAT COAT IS EXPENSIVE...was 7 bars or so...but really those bars are easily made back, just as you mentioned. so I could do some more spending,  especially long-term investments like gun customization.

Most of the things that were found in the files dates back to day one. Also, the zombies thing is most likely booked for the new Halloween mode.

That's a valid argument.

 

While I do think the Bounty Hunter extension will go more into the dishonorable side of things, I don't believe the big heists will be locked to the role.

 

General outlaw gameplay, missions and some robberies will be part of this role, but not the bigger heist additions in my opinion. They will be added at a later date.

 

The Bounty Hunter is not neccessarily a honorable justice role. But it has the potential to offer two different branches, a honorable gunslinger and dishonorable outlaw path.

I agree that game modes are sh*t, but I don't think it's likely that we're going to see zombie hordes marauding across the Heartlands this Halloween. We're speculating, since we don't know how exactly those new arrows will work.

Depending on the effect, I can see a few uses:

- Players in a tank build + Lvl III tonics are very hard to kill without dynamite / E-rounds (which you'll run out of eventually). One of the new arrows might balance things out for the duration of its effects, or give me new options to approach combat. Who says they don't drain a player's Dead Eye ring?
- One of the arrows might confuse a player well and long enough for me to be able to escape, or get to a better position I otherwise wouldn't have been able to reach.

Current meta dynamite arrows:

- You can only hold 10 dynamite arrows
- I'm not making a case for new arrows becoming the new meta, just for adding a new option / dimension to free roam PvP. We're talking about their use making sense or not in free roam PvP.

I agree on your points about R* limiting free roam PvP. That doesn't mean new arrows don't make sense in free roam, though. Depends on how they work exactly. Even with all the welcome limitations and anti-griefing mechanics, it's still possible (if not super common for me) to run into super toxic, high level, tonic-chugging griefer posses. I never shoot first in free roam. But if a new arrow gives me new options and tools to defend myself, I'm all for it.

Not a big deal, but last night was the first time I've ever seen an NPC traveling on foot (near Emerald Ranch)--they're always on a horse or wagon, carriage, etc.

 

Pretty sure it's something new; there was no visual connection with a borked mission of any kind; wasn't running from/to anything or afraid...

Yea, getting a streak going is tedious but it's worth it. 

 

R* needs kudos for making at least one of the objectives per day insanely easy like feeding a horse or visiting a place.
