What do you mean?  The skin counts as a collectible?

Animal skins and small carcasses are counted as "collectibles from non-player enemies". Didn't understand why, until Madam Nazar started asking for squirrel carcasses and raccoon pelts in the weekly collector lists.

I think anything that becomes a red dot that you can take something from will work.

Well, if you see something like this while skinning an alligator (or other 'qualifying' animal) :)

No, really, you can just shoot and skin a rabbit or a badger, or kill and bag a quail or squirrel with a blunt arrow, and it will count as collecting something from non-player enemies.

They never appear as hostiles or act with hostility towards you, asides from raccoons and muskrats nibbling on your toes before running away.

Played a few, story missions, that were locked (because of bug).

And to my surprise, picked up NPC weapons; due to empty slots, on my weapon wheel.

Also, loot boxes, have alot more items now (so far, so go).

JFC.  So many revenue agents and gang hideouts have been wiped out by my hand, when I could have just done this.

Squirrels and raccoons are delightful to watch scampering around, I can't say the same about revenue agents.

This might get buried but can I just say that R* deserves all the kudos for the "Survival" system they put in their game.

I don't think I have ever seen such a seamlessly integrated "Needs" system, all the actual survival games have needlessly complicated meters where health and hunger are separate, stamina and fatigue are separate etc and it becomes tedious to play t5he game and stay on top of your needs.

RDR2/O is different but it makes sense, you are not punished for having low needs but you are de-buffed to where its noticeable but not game breaking. The fact that the game encourages you to "role-play" by eating but does not force you is great.

The food items also made sense, eat hearty meat to replenish your health, Sugary, salty or spiced things to get your Stamina back and nicotine and alcohol to "calm your nerves" and get your Dead-Eye back.

I don't often find much reason to praise R*, especially when it comes to their online games, but you're spot on with this assessment. They have managed to strike a balance, something which they rarely achieve.

Personally, I avoid eating, I just use my campfire to refill cores, because of clipping issues with overweight characters.

I think the fact that everything restores something is what works. You don't need to eat, you can heal using tonics and stuff but for those that want to it is possible.

If you eat things that restore just one stat and only eat when your cores are low you wont gain weight. I eat fruit to quickly restore my health and never gain weight. Always the muscular Brawn Underweight.

I'll give this a try. I'd be happier from a RP perspective eating on the go rather than magically restoring by spending a few seconds next to a fire.

I did what I assume you are doing and ate the Cooked Meats to restore all the Cores at once and piled on weight in the beginning and could never shift it, I think a glitch or the free Character Change eventually shifted my weight back to normal and then I started looking at the system.

If you eat and hear a ding! sound it means the food has filled your Core and you won't gain weight, if you hear a crunch sound it means it was not needed and you will gain weight.

If you eat something that fills say two Cores but you only needed one the other unneeded Core filler will be added to your weight. That's why if you strategically eat to fill only the Cores you need you won't gain weight. I eat alot of fruit, it says it only fills a small amount but you take three bites, it takes three Apples to fill your health core.

There are 3 levels of meats, the lowest ones that only slightly fill cores are stringy meat, herptile meat and gamey bird meat. If I eat those I lose weight, so they should be safe for you to eat?

No other creature on this planet is as unfit for continued existence as the horse. No animal besides the equine will, upon a leaf falling in front of its face, whip itself into such a blind panic that it will run until either runs off a cliff to its death or its heart explodes from overwork. If it were not for humans constantly tending to them and relying on them as a beast of burden, they would have gone extinct centuries ago. There is a reason that for most of recorded history, the biggest scientific effort for invention was for a machine that would replace the horse.

Are we talking real horses now? Cause the Red Dead Counterparts are a bit, off. 😁

But if we are bringing up the actual living, breathing beasts, honestly if it weren't for the horse we would not have been so lucky to be where we are. They were our tanks of war when we had none, our saviors when we needed something to pull the heavy water wagons through the streets to put out the fires. They made it possible for people to expand their settlements. They made the world easier to manage, even when being pushed to suffer for it. People were so reliant on the horse that the animal became a sign of privilege because it was not just a novelty, it was a crucial tool to own.

When they say that the west was built off the back of the horse it is the honest truth.

You barely give them the credit that they deserve.

Most horses are not scared of leaves if they are trained correctly, but they have a legitimate reason to be fearful of slippery things that go underfoot. And if a horse falls from overwork it is the fault of the human forcing them beyond their means, it is not the animal's fault.

Give them credit, the horse is going to continue doing what is asked of it until it falls and can no longer rise.

I've worked with a lot of horses for years, been kicked, crushed, trampled, and knocked out of the saddle and each time it was because of my carelessness, not the horse's actions.

And I would honestly trust a horse's soundness over the mechanical issues of any vehicle I've ever owned. 😉

These horses in Red Dead are given mechanics that are meant to make the game harder for the player, they aren't truly representative of how a horse will always act.

So after killing one Moose it'll take 72 hours to find the other, that includes finding the same Moose you already killed right? That's a surprisingly long timer.

That is correct! I believe the reason for this 72 hours cool down is because some Legendary spawn locations are quite close together so it’s probably a cool down so that you’re able to spawn a different Legendary Animal for those area where the spawn locations overlap etc. is my theory for the cool down!

So one of the PC photo mode stickers (alongside others like the LeMat) is a pair of... Remington 1858s.

Somehow I get the feeling that the old man was just added for comic relief; there might be something more to his presence in the game, but I have my doubts. lol

Since he comes back to life after killing him, maybe he is the leader of the big zombie horde we'll be seeing around Halloween. 😄 Speaking of the living dead, anyone ever notice Hamish's eyes? They're solid black.

Personally, I'd prefer they make the horses realistic and make the NPCs a lot more difficult to deal with. Things are a bit backwards the way they do it now. I've always loved horses but the game is really souring my attitude towards them. lol

yeah. Torch can be found from swamps and from the murphees in story mode so maybe theres somewhere random encounter type of thing in online mode or one of those gang hideouts where it can be found.

They should make torch an item in fence or trapper so we can buy it

This game has really been testing my love of horses as well.

Like, why would a horse walk into a moving train? Seriously, this happened to me quite a few times, my horse just decides it's a great idea to step right into the train as it moves pass them. And I'm standing there behind them like wtf!!?

So when I get them back I let them go hungry and don't clean them for a bit just to teach them. It doesn't matter much, but it makes me feel like I got my point across. 😄

I also had my horse walk straight in front of a moving wagon and get trampled right in front of me, but that was in story mode with Arthur.

That would be good. That they gather their sh*t together and deliver a proper functioning ballistic weapon, as we have been out of them since the colt navy.

Forgive me double barrel rifled lovers! but that crap only works with PIB and you know it.
