My point also being that we know the enhanced version of GTA5/O is coming out in 2021 so does that mean that the current gen versions of the games will be playable on the PS5 and next Xbox? This then leads into the question of what will happen to the current gen versions once the enhanced version is out, it will fracture the player base. It's also a VERY f*ckING sh*tty move that the PS5 gets GTAO enhanced for free while the Xbox has to, I assume, pay for it. I also assume that PC will get this upgrade for free as well as lol, no self-respecting PC player would pay for an upgrade. It could be that the GTAO portion of GTA5 is free for all but PS5 just gets it three month early.

 

 

What I'm saying is that the PS5/Xbox Series editions would be separated from current-gen from the get go, regardless of whether it's backwards compatibility or an enhanced edition. That's the most likely move Rockstar would pick, and the new hardware is of enough reason to do that.

If I'm being honest, I don't think RDR2/RDO needs the expanded and enhanced treatment, definitely not as much as GTA V/O needs it. 

 

We're less than 2 months out now, there's no good reason not to inform the player base of how things will work come mid November and in the months afterwards.

How would that work if I buy the series X and keep my 1X? If I had one in my office and the other in the game room set to home xbox with game sharing. I should be able to play the game on any xbox console and have the data synced between them.

Or if I go to a friend's house and log into their OG xbox with my account - i should be able to sync there as well and just keep playing.

How about this: everyone knows that the majority of players that buy GTAV never touch the story or play very little of it, they buy the game often because they want to play the Online, right? Maybe their friends play it and they want to join in the fun, or they got hyped seeing the last heist trailer and want to give it a shot. And it's very unlikely that all those people that pay for Shark Cards are also people who care about story mode, they basically don't give a sh*t. Which is why GTA Online standalone is the perfect solution for those kinds of people (which, again, are the majority of GTAV buyers).

 

Now, can we say the same about RDR2? There are certainly some people who only play Online, but let's be honest, that's not what the game is famous for. Ask any RDO player whether they've played the story, and I'd say 9 in 10 players have, and that's what got them into online. Let's not forget that, despite sharing many similarities, Red Dead and GTA are pretty different games with pretty different audiences

Thats really all I am saying, it seems like they are trying to encourage preorders without disclosing this vital information. If RDO transfers had come to PC like we all expected, then I think a blanket transfer of both games to next gen enhanced versions would be more than a safe bet.  But as things are now, I am skeptical that it will be like the 360 to XB1 situation GTAO had previously.

GTA IV(Excluding TBoGT) is the only 'serious' title R* has

RDR had supernatural themes since the start with Undead Nightmare, then added more in RDR 2 SP as easter eggs much like the aliens in GTA V/Online.

 

Honestly I'd take zombies in a Online mode over another zombie centric SP DLC, I'd actually like vampires for Undead Nightmare 2! Especially since there's a certain disease in SP with ties to it

I really hate zombies but I think it could be fun in free roam just to spice it up a bit. Maybe at least for a day or two. I'll make sure to stock up on my ammo and try it out.

I currently have a Xbox One, but I don’t plan to get the Series X for a long time. I still have games I need to finish on current-gen, and the price of the Series X and next-gen games ($70 dollars...) are making me want to stick with my Xbox One for the time being.

 

I don’t think us current-gen RDO players have to worry about updates for RDO stopping in the near future. If you think about it, RDR2 will only be two years old around this time next month. If a next-gen version is on the cards, I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

I have no interest in any zombie content, but as you say it might actually be fun, we'll see.

I thought the same about races and found I enjoy target races, as long as no ones being a dick.

I'm more referring to RDO, I'm not sure if you would be able to do that in single-player, but I hardly see us getting cross-gen play in online. I believe each console would feature its own bubble of multiplayer, much like Stadia and PC.

The remaining LAs are 3 Bears, 3 Panthers and 3 Moose, 2 of said animals for free roam and 1 sighting mission!
