RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Yea, this forum was full of people including my self who ended up not buying the PC version due to no char transfer. I would 100% double dip if I could bring my char over but I can't as of now.

 

Saying that, if they announce transfers to PC this year I'll be in no rush to buy the game. The next few months are going to be expensive for me, buying a new console and doing a PC rebuild. Was lowkey wishing that the new consoles would get delayed lmao.

I never understood why you could not transfer your character TO PC. I can understand PC to Consoles as it would just lead to people transferring Modded accounts. I hope there is method to the madness and they let people transfer any account to one of the new Consoles.

Javier's outfit is dope and I know it was a highly requested one by fans.... and no offense to Bill, he's cool, but his outfit is trash lol

Xbox for me right now. No other reason than my irl mates and I are wanting something fresh, so Games Pass and all the games we didn't play last gen p much - Games Pass is a huge draw for us. If we bought a PS5 we'd all be stuck on Fifa as per usual and that makes me want to headbutt a wall over and over. I do plan on getting a PS5 down the line for the games though.

What I don't get about this game's system is the outlaw pass, if you restart your character you lose all the content from the pass... even if you paid money for it... but yet there's no way to get the content again so far, so how is that allowed? You should be able to keep your pass items even if you remake.

 

mostly saying this because if they do allow ps4 to pc transfers after 2 years, I already reset my character on ps4, I'll be pressed.

I am Xbox as well and I agree about Game Pass, are you going S or X?

Never been a big fan of Fifa games, saying that I have never been a vig fan of sports game in general.

Honestly I am undecided right now. I only play console with mates, I'm primarily a PC player so the S seems like a good option but I worry that it'll be struggling in 2-3 years when the next-gen only titles roll out. I'm also trying to save a bit of cash cause PC upgrade, but yea, undecided right now.

That's why I like Fallout 76's 'seasons' because of how they function

There are some prizes that are strictly for one character(consumable crap/currency), but actual stuff like customization items for your camp(Foozeball table, chicken coop, shooting range, etc), gun/armor skins, emotes/icons..... they unlock on ALL your characters present and future as they're tied to your account.

 

Sure the progression might suck, since you can't just grind up in a few days and f*ck off like you can with this one and many other season passes out there. But I admire how the unlock system works

 

Though what they really need to do, is just make  an additional character slot for the people who want one. I personally am never making a second character, why? Look at GTA V, only one character could cross over.... and now people who made second characters on GTA V yet again? Lose those too!

This is also why I just sighed in annoyance at those "Hurrrrr just make a second character! Garage space is fine!" pricks, yeah having a second character is so worth seeing a bunch of million dollars cars getting thrown into a nonexistent void!

They'll do it for next-gen and if we're lucky we may see PC finally get PS4/XB1 > PC transfers as well. There's absolutely nothing to worry about regarding it.

 I would much rather speculate in the negative and then be surprised when the positive happens.  The reason stated for no pc transfer for RDR2 was that red dead for pc was a different game, yet it looked and behaved essentially the same.  And appears no different than GTAV pc version v. GTAV console.

 

We are all assuming that RDR2 is a guaranteed remaster/enhanced within the 1st or 2nd year of next console life.  Yet this is not even a guarantee at this point, and this is more of the communications problem with R*...we are left in the dark...there were people who swore up and down until the day RDR2 released on PC it would get a transfer feature.

You would think that R* would have stated the transfer feature explicitly in their GTAO announcement, but as far as I know they havent stated so.  Instead the promised a free million dollars per month and free access to GTAO to PS4 players...right clear as mud. I guess the fact that they have a year to explain what the hell they are doing gives players time to adjust, but some information on these issues would be appreciated.

Wait, is this official? I could of sworn, my second character slot transferred over from PS3 to PS4.

Well. Gta has space  for how many cars? Like 60 Without considering the casino, the office, the club, or the arcade ones lol... not that is easy to full all that.  Here i wish i could have 15 slots for horses and outfits right now... the fashion is way more important to rdo fandom.

At first I didn't realize that was Bill's outfit, I don't really care for it either.

I really need more horse slots, I'm down to selling my favorites to get a new horse. Most of those horses I've had for months now, I am quite attached.

Bruh he asked for a tip for low levels, I gave him a link to a map cause thats the quickest and easiest way to get money and gold. End of the story. Stop acting weird...

So, thinking more on this next gen RDO thing. It has to happen one way or the other, what happens with the people that sell their PS4's and Xbox for the new consoles around Christmas? R* will want as many people playing the new Update as possible but if a portion of the player base can't access their games it's not a good look.

The question then becomes will it be BC or will they announce an enhanced version for sale around Christmas? But then that raises the issue of if the game is BC and they do release an Updated version its gonna shat all the BC people and split the player base on the same platform. Can the PS5 even do cross-play with PS4?

This is also true of GTAO. If the PS5 and Xbox versions come out in 2021 that means the PS4 and One versions will need to be BC.

Screw rockstar i am not selling my horses, i can hold myself... it would hinder my in game role experience.

Eh. It's still a very small portion if you think about it. There are many reasons already why you shouldn't buy a PS5, and if you're an Online player, well, you got one more.

What I personally think will happen is that GTA V and RDR2 will be able to be played on PS5 at launch (they're two of the most popular games on PS4 after all, and Sony recently said that "99%" (it's probably a hyperbole, but still, the majority) of PS4 titles will be playable on PS5. Rockstar has already confirmed that exclusive next-gen GTA Online updates are going to be coming next year and beyond, so it's safe to assume that's going to be the main selling point to encourage people to buy the new version instead of sticking to the backwards compatible one. Series X already has full backwards compatibility so that's not even gonna be a problem.

 

That obviously means that RDR2's graphics and performance won't change a bit in the transition, since Rockstar is not actually doing any changes to the game, but it's still something to be able to play it on the new consoles

 

 

If they're not taking this route and they're leaving GTAO behind, I don't see how it doesn't make sense for them to leave RDO too, at least for the moment

I’m DAILY play FO76 season 2 is much easier than Season 1 grind-wise , season 2 launched last Tuesday and I’m already about lvl 20 i think most people will end this season by October for just playing it normally ( without count Double XP or Double dailies or weekly) although season’s were free unlike other battle pass ... etc , but that game desperately needs END-GAME content like Daily ops 

Is there any sign of New DLC coming to RDO soon except Halloween stuff

Depends on your definition of soon, they've confirmed we'll get aother update outside of Halloween by the end of the year.

i got the message that i qualified for the free collectors bag for collecting all the playing cards in GTAO a year ago, but it still wants me to pay 10 gold for it.

 

did that "event" for the free bag end?

i thoought it was permanent

Nobody knows dude. The next-gen port hasn't even been announced yet. All I can say is that character transfers from PS4/Xbox One aren't possible to PC.

It didnt work for me.  I am not sure if this reward was permanent or there was a date associated with it.  I think the bounty hunter was supposed to be free or reimbursed at the time.  The twitch rewards do not work for me even thought I have linked my social club several times.  I even think a couple of the weekly rewards have not worked as well.  If you are concerned, contact R* support, a lot of people say can get some easy gold for known bugs such as these.
