RDR1 was released over 10 years ago... and not everyone had the change to play it. Its like saying you don't see a reason to remake Vice City with RDR2 level of graphics just cause you played it before in 2002 lol.

And if they were to remake RDR1 ofc they would add a loooot of new content and new missions to it. They would probably use the whole map of RDR2, not only the New Austin part.

We would probably get more missions with Sadie and Charles for example.

So in a way you could get the same amount of content you would normally get with a new SP dlc + rdr1 storyline on top of it.

edit: and here's the kicker, if something like that dosn't interests you at all, simply don't buy it. Problem solved. Its not like they would force you to do it.

Everything you said is not wrong....but I dont like to play old content, even if its "remaked".

I want to play new games. And if GTA6 is setted in Vice City, its not automatically a remake of GTA:Vice CIty....you should know the difference ;)

If you can' wait to play RDR1 on a modern system, just grab a One X or Series X later this year, and enjoy it in glorious 4K via backwards compatibility ;)

PS3 - 640p

Xbox 360 - 720p

PS4 - PS3 version streamable via PSNow

Xbox One (S + Series S) - Xbox 360 version via backwards compatibility, same 720p resolution, but more stable framerate, elimination of screen tearing and 16x anistropic filtering

Xbox One X (+ Series X) - 360 bc version at 3840x2160p (enhanced on a system level), locked fps, no screan tearing, 16xaf

PC - Not available

Xbox talked about how they are able to double the framerate of bc games for Xbox Series. I wonder if they'll be able to pull that off with RDR1, but I think this would cause problems with the engine and how the game was build and basically tied to framerate at 30.

What? I never said it would be...  I never ever said anything about gta6. Just used VC as an example of an old game. Seems like yet again you missed my point here. But nvm that. Still, if you don't like the idea of rdr1 remake, just don't buy it. Vote with your wallet.

When this game came out I had just a pc. The I also bought a PS4, which is not backwards compatible so I am yet to play this game. For some of us experiencing this game for the first time in RDR2's engine would be awesome. Maybe you are not in this audience, but there are many players who want a RDR1 remake.

Have you noticed that there are only fully grown adult animals in RDR2/RDO, I wonder why R* didn’t have younger versions of animals, just thought about earlier... for the realism aspect in the game where are all these animals coming from heh!

I mean even if we couldn’t kill the younger animals as may some players wouldn’t enjoy killing them like the adults etc.

Even if they could be killed, players have the choice not to kill them anyway!

There's the baby gators but maybe that's cause they still bite back. Killing bear cubs and Bambi's would be kind of a downer and don't even start with Harriet. But yeah they should be in the game.

and again nothing wrong here....but it wont change my opinion, that I want the developers to spend their time in new projects, than in remakes or remasters.

Of course it’s not that big of a deal, anyway, but maybe it will come in the future if a Farming / Animal Breeding Roles Role where we breed most of the animals in the game or something.

I think the only one is the baby gator.

For anyone else that plays as an outlaw... there's a new way to torture NPCs! lol

Shallow water.

Hogtie, drop in shallow water. When hog-tied, they always lie facing the ground, and if they lie flat, their face is below water, and they'll drown.

Watch the ensuing fun. :)

Reasons for RDR2: NextGen

- 60fps on all NextGen consoles (probably the biggest leap)

- native 4k on Series X/PS5 (PS4 Pro was 1920x2160 checkerboarding)

- 1080p-1440p on Series S (still huge upgrade compared to 864p on One S)

- higher settings (better draw distance, lightning, shadows, texture detail etc, basically optimized high PC settings)

- faster load times

- maybe some form of light raytracing reflections

- Introduction of R* editor and R* creator in RDO

- And simply a more smoother and stable experience enabled by the Zen 2 processors and NVME SSDs

- Opportunity to expand the game which maybe wasn't possible on the old jaguar cores of Xbox one and PS4 (e.g. expanding New Austin with more interiors and interactivity or eventually adding Mexico)

i doubt that will be possible on new gen. native 4k, 60fps, high settings and ray tracing would definitley not be possible, even with all the console optimizations

I can challenge you on this point.

The Xbox One X already runs the game in native 4k at 30fps.

The Series X is capable to double the framerate given the specs and optimization.

The Series X has hardware dedicated to raytracing on its silicon, so some form of raytracing should be possible. The Series X and PS5 are not like RTX 2000 cards. They are RDNA2 based. The new AMD archirecture that is not even out yet, more comparable to the RTX 3000 series when it comes to it, especially raytracing performance.

High settings is just the ice on the cake.

If a 6tflop gcn console with last gen ram and old ass tablet cpu from 2012 can run the game at impressive native 4k and stable framerate, then for sure a 12tflop rdna 2 based, with 8 Zen 2 corse with smt, new gen ram and dedicated raytracing hardware can do the things I said.

Yeah maybe dynamic 4K on PS5, and yes, I really don't believe R* will implement raytracing (simply because it's not even in the PC version).

But 4K60, higher settings is definitely possible. You cant compare console to PC, especially with the nextgen architecture.

If you tackle/"mount" someone in water instead of taking the ground and pound position your character will drown them by holding their head under the water while they struggle.

I have done this a lot to fulfill and roll over challenge awards, then applied the same behavior when I started playing single player a bit when sessions were totally broken.

It leads to some funny conversations around the campfire: Arthur telling other gang members things like "yeah, I've been killing animals and innocent people lately, don't know why"

Yeah it would be gross, i personally dont hunt aside daylies or the usual wolves, cougars or bears that pursue me.

Just curious if anyone has ever come across a dead but skinnable animal that's not part of a random encounter and has no "paw" icon?

I found a dead, but skinnable, one-star duck outside Emerald Ranch yesterday; first time I've seen that. Normally, I'd chalk it up to it hitting a tree and dying, but even those usually leave a "paw" print.

Sometimes the paw doesn't show up on the map.

I've run over things with the horse or wagon, gotten off to retrieve the carcass and had to use eagle eye to see where it was.

It's been going on for quite a while.

Bully's not on modern consoles, nor is GTA IV

But there are benefits for RDR 1 remake/SP DLC in this engine, double dip and add Mexico into Online to draw back players(They could also do this with GTA IV and Liberty City, if they take a leaf from Mafia and redo the game)

No, but they've found their ways to port it to as many things possible, made them available on the R* launcher with RDR2, ported them to phones...

I agree though, if they do plan on adding Mexico to RDO in the future why wouldn't they just make a remake? They'd have the whole map, all they'd have to do is put icing on the cake.

Just a question, how much do you get for a full six-person three star alive Bounty mission?

Would spamming these with a group of people not be the fastest way to make cash?

Can you not tackle other players anymore? Just played some PvP games for the first time in months and my favourite playstyle of ‘going native’ with slippery bastard and a tomahawk isn’t working anymore. I just run past people and my camera goes haywire. Then get headshotted through SB.

Not doing fast! The payout is on a timer so they don´t benefit for doing fast.... Payout is IF you get a good timer and need to travel far is around 50-60 dollars and 0.4 gold.....

No, you get 30-40 dollars for a single three-star Bounty. I mean when you capture six people in the same Bounty and bring them all in at once in the back of a Bounty Wagon. You should be earning at least a hundred dollars per Bounty mission. A properly organised Posse could be making serious bank.

Financially, it makes absolutely no sense for Rockstar to remaster RDR1 at this current time. I'm sure it will happen at some point in the future, but not for a while, although I do think we are getting slightly off-topic here.

I rarely do one target 3 star bounties. So I'm more custom to the payout for 2-6 targets! So that's why I wrote that amount

So let me get this right, you capture multiple Bounties in one mission and still only get forty dollars or do you mean you get forty dollars per head?

Huh, I have done one six man Bounty but the targets glitched and just stood there letting me hogtie them all and put them in my wagon, when I dropped them off the game stuttered and never paid me out so I dropped a message to support with video eveidence and they compensated me five hundred dollars.
