Any chance we will be able to port our online characters to next gen? That's the only reason I didn't jump to PC.

If R* releases RDR2 on the new consoles, we can be certain that all our progress will carry over. Obviously not confirmed because they haven't even announced RDR2 for PS5 and Xbox Series.

Isn't that one of the random bootlegger missions you get given from Maggie?

I meant our own Moonshine bar.

Most importantly RDR2 should be backwards compatible day one on the new consoles. I don't want to keep my old ass console around taking up room just to boot up RDO.

If they enhance it for NextGen then that's even better. I have slight hopes they announce that as a PS5 launch title during this months rumored PS event.

Can't imagine they release that after GTAV, would be way too long of a wait.

PS5 as far as im aware will be backwards compatible and as the current Pro does play the game in gorgeous 4k i dont know what/why it needs doing to it

That looks awesome!

My shack is up in the Heartlands, but for some reason the decor is giving me a Bayou/St Denis vibe..Might need to move it there haha.

i have a theory.

my theory is that the bar decor would allow us to know what the next major update is.

So in the bar there is hunter decor, so there are animals hanging in the bar and this sign for the Traper update.  what is your opinion?

is my theory correct or is it just coincidence and I have some news from Video tech

Reasons for RDR2: NextGen

- 60fps on all NextGen consoles (probably the biggest leap)

- native 4k on Series X/PS5 (PS4 Pro was 1920x2160 checkerboarding)

- 1080p-1440p on Series S (still huge upgrade compared to 864p on One S)

- higher settings (better draw distance, lightning, shadows, texture detail etc, basically optimized high PC settings)

- faster load times

- maybe some form of light raytracing reflections

- Introduction of R* editor and R* creator in RDO

- And simply a more smoother and stable experience enabled by the Zen 2 processors and NVME SSDs

- Opportunity to expand the game which maybe wasn't possible on the old jaguar cores of Xbox one and PS4 (e.g. expanding New Austin with more interiors and interactivity or eventually adding Mexico)

I have been saying for ages. They are holding back the good stuff for Next Gen when they have far more power to play with. It also helps that you will most likely need to buy the upgrade meaning another sixty dollars for R*.

Yeah, I think they will charge 69.99$ and offer you a 10$ discount and exclusive content and bonuses if you already played this generation, also full online progress transfer.

Also exclusive SP and Online content at launch for NextGen and all RDO updates only on NextGen starting 2022.

That's how they try to get us over.

Sweeten the deal with R* editor, creator and a map expansion.

All I have to say is that they damn better be adding an Outlaw role or something that actually CHANGES gameplay before canning current gen for RDR 2. Cause right now? It's not worth shelling out another $60, not when you could buy AC Valhalla and get the NG version for free regardless of what console your on and there are other examples

I have a question for everyone and also for @ fun2 and @Adamuk and @Videoteck?  I wanted to Talk about the Bug of the Monarchin Hut sometimes i step into the hut and i find two rooms that shine brightly and inside there is nothing.  is that cut content or will we get something in the future?

Back to 8 months there was a rumor how Talk that we would get a boxer arena in this room .  what do you say? do we get something in these rooms or not.

The only reason I hold onto hope for a RDR Remake is

  • It's one of the few main Rockstar titles to not be on modern systems
  • The coding was notoriously a mess preventing them from porting it to nextgen and pc
  • There's a glaring disconnect between RDR2/RDR... RDR2 is a prequel, it's to be expected that new players would want to play the first after playing the prequel but the ps3/xbox are only available third party
  • They went through the effort to remake half the map with evidence pointing to them planned on recreating the whole thing

Basically, R* could benefit hugely from it in the same way they still milk Bully, GTA V, GTA VI, ect.

I would see it as a large standalone DLC made in the same engine, sort of like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Bully's not on modern consoles, nor is GTA IV

But there are benefits for RDR 1 remake/SP DLC in this engine, double dip and add Mexico into Online to draw back players(They could also do this with GTA IV and Liberty City, if they take a leaf from Mafia and redo the game)

Why do you think it's a brand new engine?
It's not. Rockstar has been using the same engine since their 2006 Table Tennis game.

I think it is the same engine only by name, even if it is the same engine it is not the same build from back then, it has been improved upon greatly in that time.

You are correct on this, but its till the same engine.

This means a lot of things are possible, like adding RDR1's map to RDR2... oh wait.. they already did that, didn't they?

Improved version of the same engine* And you know exactly what I meant by that. That they can remake RDR1 in RDR2 as a dlc. Or sell it as a separate game but still reuse all the assets and animations.

Same Story as GTA Here....they should concentrate their recources on making new Games instead of Rereleasing old Stuff....but thats a General symptome in Games industry ATM...I dont Like this trend

It would be a remake... not rerelease like gtav lol. Rereleasing gta v takes no effort at all compered to making a brand new different game.

The industry just fallows what sells the most. And new IP games never sell as well as sequels and remakes. So is it really the industry fault that people love nostalgia?

I never complained when they decided to make RDR2, did you? And I also won't complain if they decide to make another GTA game in Vice City (since that was my favorite setting).

The reality is that its more likely that we will see a remake of RDR1 rather then a new story mode DLC since they can save a lot of time and money that way and still charge the full price for it. Not to mention that the game was never released on PC in the first place.

Remakes are Just Premium rereleases IMO. Same Map,  Same Story etc....where ist the Magic of Something new?

RDR1 was released over 10 years ago... and not everyone had the change to play it. Its like saying you don't see a reason to remake Vice City with RDR2 level of graphics just cause you played it before in 2002 lol.

And if they were to remake RDR1 ofc they would add a loooot of new content and new missions to it. They would probably use the whole map of RDR2, not only the New Austin part.

We would probably get more missions with Sadie and Charles for example.

So in a way you could get the same amount of content you would normally get with a new SP dlc + rdr1 storyline on top of it.

edit: and here's the kicker, if something like that dosn't interests you at all, simply don't buy it. Problem solved. Its not like they would force you to do it.

Have you noticed that there are only fully grown adult animals in RDR2/RDO, I wonder why R* didn’t have younger versions of animals, just thought about earlier... for the realism aspect in the game where are all these animals coming from heh!

I mean even if we couldn’t kill the younger animals as may some players wouldn’t enjoy killing them like the adults etc.

Even if they could be killed, players have the choice not to kill them anyway!

Of course it’s not that big of a deal, anyway, but maybe it will come in the future if a Farming / Animal Breeding Roles Role where we breed most of the animals in the game or something.

Same with children. We have teenage urchins living on Saint-Denis in SP but that's about it. Arthur cant kill them so why not add them? Just have our character shake their head when we try and fire at them to make us feel bad. Same with children Jacks age.
