I’m happy I bought the outlaw pass. Haven’t been able to play in a month because I get server connection errors within 5 minutes of loading into a session every time I try. Spending 40 gold that I’ll never get back or get any use out of their exchange of is always fun.

It's like playing a whole different game. Random events EVERYWHERE as well as Legendary Animals. I found more Legendaries yesterday than I had found since the update released until yesterday combined. NPC's and animals in places I haven't seen them in a long time (both pens full of horses at Ridgewood Farm, something I haven't seen in a while). This is the experience I want all the time.

There has to be some reward or benefit to this that we don't know about, surely?

 

If it's really just becoming one of these four ghost animals and that's it, there's no way I'm spending gold on those pamphlets.

Yep. Seeing NPCs I have not seen since Single Player doing animations I haven't seen before.

 

Valentine feels like a living town and you can't move in Saint Denis for vehicles and NPCs

I'm constantly getting in a solo lobby, lobby's with 10+ players is like extremely rare. I'm not complaining, tho it's a little weird. Are more people having this? Could be a server related thing or people are just not playing RDO.

I have no idea what this is supposed to be part of...I was riding by and saw the X denoting a dead body, checked it out and it prompted me to 'check the corpse' using the normal 'loot' command (E on PC).

I looted the body after "checking" it (there was nothing revealed, no notification of anything unusual, I got 10c and some ingredient that I have max amount of already) and put her on the ground near the rocks.

The blood pool is larger, and there were more nearby...

This is the intersection a ways south of Bolger Glade.

You are at the location of a Legendary Animal spawn but you came at the wrong time/weather condition to get it to spawn.

So checking an NPC corpse is part of an LA mission?

The time of day was early afternoon.

Its a random event. I got the same body with blood on New Austin. Then a cougar attackedme.

No, if you come at the wrong time/weather the corpse will spawn, if you come at the right time/weather the Legendary Animal will spawn and begin wandering around. I assume its to keep that spawn marker filled so that other random events cannot spawn there.

What has me most puzzled is the 'check corpse' prompt.

I've never seen that anywhere before.

It's not the same as 'loot', I looted the body later.

I assume we were supposed to get a message saying something like "The corpse has wounds that look like they were made by a large (animal name) but it seems to have left the area". Like we get when inspecting clues i the Legendary Animal hunts Harriet gives us.

Ah, OK, makes sense.

 I haven't done any LA missions, only found 3 randoms.

Yea, if you inspect a clue in LA Hunts you get a little message in the top left corner telling you what you discovered. I assume that was supposed to happen with these corpses, just a reminder to come back later but that never happened, perhaps to make it harder.

Cool.

 

There's a lot of stuff in game I haven't experienced, some parts just don't interest me, like the LA stuff.

I'm not a completionist (I lknow one person who only needs that darned Florida Panther set to complete his naturalist guide 100%), I don't care for the clothes, and they're not worth enough either in cash or as materials to bother with the extra time needed to hunt them down.

You know, for all the bloody song and dance they made about the "Camp Money Box" in SP it seems stupid that we don't have one in Online. Just give me a Box that I can dump say, a hundred dollars into each time. This would automatically pay for Supplies for Cripps and pay the Stable/Camp fees so they stop appearing on my screen.

 

In the future it could pay for Camp Follower/Hand wages if we get them.

I put the hundred dollar cap on it so we have a reason to come back and put more money in it from time to time.

R* should just keep these smaller types of lobbies for the rest of 2020. In fact, why don't they keep them permanently? Smaller lobbies would be perfect for a Halloween Zombie Event.

its nothing, when i came across this i also thought it was something to do with legendary animals, like maybe a forced spawn but nope its just a useless event, ignore it next time

Got one of the random events that came with this update. I was north of MacFarlane's Ranch and there was a poacher hanging on a tree branch by his leg. There were three coyotes under him that attacked me. I saved him and he gave me a silver locket.

I'm happy to say the jewellery has been back in place inside Trelawny's trailer as of Saturday.

I hadn't seen it since the update, still got his $3 money bag every day, but no jewellery (a silver ring if I remember correctly).

So, just a thought. What do you think is a reasonable conversion rate for RDO dollars to Gold?

 

We could visit one of the banks and exchange Dollars for Gold.

 

I think that one hundred dollars for one Gold bar would be a fair exchange that would not break the game.

Can't see them even consider it to be fair. The whole point of both currencies is that even if a player is cash rich, if something hot comes up and they don't have the gold, buying it IRL becomes more an option.

 

The collector role makes us too rich and killed any slim chance of it too I reckon.

Yeah, I'd certainly not be against it of course if it's done right and as you showed, it could easily be done to where it really is more a 'needs must' thing rather than a key way to earn gold too. I think it's that collectors map that hurt any real chance if anything though unfortunately as R* seem keen to stop the flow of shared info on that one. (Though I don't mind it being more randomised).

 

Maybe like the casino in GTA where there's a limit per game day too, otherwise players with 100k-1m stashed would soon have enough gold to incentivised R* in warping prices further, lol.

 

The game has some crazy pricing already so R* would soon make things cost more to counter it too, though I feel they'll take the piss and up prices too much if there was a way to swap cash for gold as they look to do something like how they hoped the orbital cannon would drain players with high bank accounts in game or the like.
