RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Things seem fine on PC, just a server issue as people said. Although my crosshair is huge now for some reason.

I crashed while fishing during the fishing challenge. I was questioning why I was in the lead again after a player exceeded my weight in fish, too, they probably crashed as well.

 

Oh, and I’m also experiencing disconnects.

On 1.20/1.22/1.23 I’ve only ever had a single disconnect. Whatever networking changes they made to support animals actually spawning again paid off for me big time. 
 

FWIW, I’m on a 100/40 HFC wired connection on PS4 Pro. Version 1.20 marked the first time I’d ever consider calling the game bulletproof.

I WOULD LIKE THE COMMUNITY'S FEEDBACK ON MY PREDICTIONS FOR THE REST OF 2020!

 

Just a heads up these predictions are realistic (based on what R* has said + leaks) but more on an optimistic side. If you want to be super pessimistic just to burst my bubble please don't.

 

If they do not break the game in 2020, when we look back at this year this will be the most important year in RDO's future success. Let me explain:

 

I always believed before they introduced that big update that brings a lot of people in (Mexico, heists) they should build a solid base so that when those new players have tried out that new content and they enjoyed it they have something to keep them in the game. I believe 6 roles is a good number of roles to have to keep those people playing. so far we have 5, if they add one more in December (lawman probably) we have our 6. Tiers 1&2 for three very popular playing styles (hunting, exploring, and PVE). But that's not all, to make the world feel like its a living world filled with fun things to do, you have to give people things to buy. We have a good amount of weapons in the game for a new player to feel like they have something to work toward (they can add more), there are all kinds of outfits and clothes to buy, but most importantly there needs to be properties. If R* adds properties this year new players will have something to buy micro transactions for and this way R* makes money which means they keep supporting the game. 

 

BTW if they add the plants that help us turn into animals and in total they cost 30-40 gold bars that will be brilliant on R* part. They will be worth more than a role, and they are unique and cool enough for people to be willing to pay gold bars for. They should add them along with the Halloween pass to make that update feel big, it would be perfect because it can be the final part of the naturalist DLC. Imagine R* adding the pass and those plants in one update and both are worth a combined total of 60+ gold bars and people won't really complain because of how cool everything is, R* will make a lot of money on Halloween, especially if they add those along with something to do with zombies and name it Red Dead Online Undead Nightmares pt2 (or something that connects to the first game). If that happens a ton of new people will jump on, have a lot of fun, have great reasons to spend money and maybe continue playing the game. If that idea succeeds for R* it will allow them to focus more on RDO. Especially coming off the success of the naturalist, if they do a big Halloween, then add a role in December along with properties (if the leaks are believed all properties combined are worth close to 1000 gold bars)  RDO will explode. 

 

R* usually meets every January and decided how many updates each game will have based on the previous years success (they've done it with GTAO every year). Imagine the meeting for RDO in January of 2021 if the rest of 2020 goes as I predicted.

I certainly hope you don't mean 30-40 gold bars for an individual consumable. No one would buy that.

FWIW, I’m on a 100/40 HFC wired connection on PS4 Pro. Version 1.20 marked the first time I’d ever consider calling the game bulletproof. 

PS4 Pro here hard wired to fibre optic hardly ever have connection issues since launch all ports forwarded. Left game end of last year came back for this update and never had so many disconnects last saturday i had more disconnects in one morning than i think ive ever had in my gaming life

Nevermind, for some reason the SC catalogue was temporarily showing items not available when playing.

update just done a little test and there no diffrence . With or without the trinkets on . If anyone can tell me how to equip it would appreciate it 

An update on this, just shot a Wolf with a shotgun as forgot to swap it out of my loadout from yesterday, 1 Star carcass, skinned it and got a 2 Star Pelt.

 

They don't need to be equipped, they're just active after you purchase them from Gus. Perhaps it wasn't working before and was fixed in yesterdays patch so seems to be working now at least since it's the first time I've got a better quality belt so perhaps all trinkets bought from Gus are now working as they should be due to the most recent patch.

Not sure where to put this, as it's about the forum but I know the Mods and Admins frequent this topic. Does anyone else agree that we should be able to put a little logo of our platform (Xbox, PS or PC) under our usernames on the forum like with the flags? I feel it would streamline alot of questions people have when new patches come out/issues arise and with people talking to each other so they immediately know what platform that person is on.

Yeah that could be a good option as I always state that issues I have since I don't play the PS4 version of RDO at the moment so a quick glance at the users on the side with the icon of the platform they're on would help assist what platform is being talked about without having to state it each time too, as sometimes I forget.

Yea, not blaming people but I do see that people will post something about GTAO or RDO and then it will end up in people just asking what platform or giving wrong answers or advice that does not work on that platform.
