RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Make the steamboat ownable, give us bank stagecoaches that have miniguns, give us a circus and slideshow place to go to, give us interesting weapons, give us houses or plantations that are different and customizable. Make wagons able to fall apart, make instruments carryable, let me be a salesman, why the hell don't we have cigars in this game on the regular? You definitely should fix up the prison and allow people that get captured as bounties to escape from the prison. We need more row boats, more lasso tricks, able to at the very least spin two guns and deflect things in a fist fight. Why are there no people to rob on trains, and why can't you just rob people? The cops know too much way too fast and should definitely take a day to catch on. Gypsies should do way more than collecting. Gangs are drab and useless in this game. And no one, I mean no one, cares about your roles and crappy accessories unless they have a good storyline, like what you killed off your writers after the single player campaign? The fact that interesting and random encounters are stupid and drab, doesn't make sense. Bring back the KKK and let us understand and screw around with history; wasn't a big fan of being raped in campaign but screw it, that's a random as hell encounter. I just gave you a crap ton of ideas, get off your lazy butts and use them. I'll give you a million more if you need someone creative, and thoughtful to tell you how to make money... It's definitely not micro-transactions, holding back half the game, and legit not giving us anything cool if it means we won't check our pocket books. I'll pay rockstar for a fort and an army. Otherwise pay me for the hundreds of hours wasted on garbage you already threw away and have the audacity to barely pick back up and advertise as gold.

I do hope they'll make use of the riverboat, I just noticed the other day it actually is named on the map, I think it may have been because I looked at it through a rifle scope.

We'd have to pay to board of course, but that's fine.

hi everyone. i have a question. and since this thread says general chat. i assume its okay to ask it here. if not then tell me where i should. it does not have to do with future updates. i also want to say before i ask it that im not trying to be negative towards females either. if you are a female that plays the game thats great. and i have no problems with it.

 

so lately when i play pvp or am in free mode. i have noticed that most of the tryhard or griefers are female characters. i know that a lot of guys like to play as girls for some weird reason. but it just seems like most of them are toxic. even on youtube i like to watch pvp matches. and it seems like most of the people who make those videos use a female character. so im wondering is this a trend? like in gta where tryhards like to wear those rebreathers. its to the point where i feel like im more likely to encounter a female than a male. it feels a little unrealistic. of course i know there were tough females in the west. but seeing a female go on a huge player killing spree seems a bit weird. again im not trying to be rude to any females that read this. im just curious if this is a fad that i dont know.

PvP player here (not a tryhard/griefer). From what I've heard in the community, a female character has a smaller hitbox. I use one but because it's been that way since I started playing online

You don't offend me one bit, it's an honest question and I partially agree with you.

As a female player I prefer to play male characters over the women, I have my reasons. But in the beginning I did see many female players acting out, but now I see more dapper looking, dark haired, male characters with glasses, or an eye patch doing the initial attacks. Them, or the players who run around with a ratty haired male character with no shirt nor shoes but only in a pair of coveralls or worn jeans.

It is probably true about the hit box thing, though as I've found the women are harder to hit pvp than the guys. Not sure why the choice though, I've always been meaning to ask as well.

I also heard about that a female character has more accuracy then a male character idk if it’s true but I would like to know if someone already had the chance to play with both of them.

This is one of the big reasons we don't get many new RDO players. These youtubers all jump on the bandwagon once one youtuber does it. And all of them only play on pc. As a PS4 player yes RDO has issues but nothing as bad as all these youtubers put in videos and I can say on PS4 I have NEVER encountered a hacker. I don't mean to target this video and creater specifically (I actually like his content) but the clickbait is what pisses me off and how all of them make the same videos. If you're gonna say RDO is broken and full of hackers, at least try out all platforms.

Why does it matter if it's only a problem on PC? If there is a problem people will complain about it. Yes no sh*t you haven't encountered a hacker on PS4 that console barely has any mod menu for gtao let alone rdo.

To be fair to the streamers, they almost all play on PC at least partially because it's so much better in terms of visual quality to stream from a PC in comparison to streaming from a console.

 

I get some of the point you're making. As soon as I saw RDO didn't have dedicated servers I knew that playing on PC would be a f*cking nightmare and even though I bought RDR2 for PC I've not even created a character for RDO.

 

I don't blame streamers for speaking out though, players like @HazardousHDTVare having a really bad time of it right now, basically having hackers make it impossible for them to even play, and that's not even considering that some of these guys are doing this to make a living.

 

I should imagine that having to deal with the extra bullsh*t that name recognition brings and things like stream sniping is annoying enough (so annoying that I abandoned the idea of streaming even just for fun a long time ago) but being deliberately and consistently targeted by hackers with menus and DDoS is unacceptable and is completely the fault of R*.

 

The players knew after GTAO on PC what was coming to RDO without dedicated servers, so R* knew too and they still decided on P2P again.

I swear I've seen like 10 videos from that creator with "fans are pissed..." in the title, I could frankly care less about what youtubers are doing but I hate when one person tries to speak for all, and especially when it's used for clickbait. It seems like every Red Dead youtuber anymore only cares about clickbait, but then I suppose the platform is built off it now.

f*ck this Youtuber in particular. Dude showed a video how to exploit RDO races and farm Gold all day and night. So you find people never trying to finish races and it gets annoying whenever there's a daily associated with it.

Game deserves all the sh*t it gets.

 

I don't usually care what clickbaiters or youtubers do, but in this case, if it's causing the effect you suggest and stopping new players coming over, good. 

 

As it stands, this game needs to fail so R*/T2 look to do more and better all round. Communication, the P2P system, the cheats and hackers, the lack of legitimate options, choice and this one size fits all approach, it all reeks of cheap and tacky. So unless good competition arrives to push R*'s creative, I'll just settle for a bad word of mouth, lol.

 

Though anyone with experience of GTA:O on PC was expecting this to be no better. Why would R* change when with all those issues in GTA, that game continues to make record breaking money. There's zero incentive for them to do anything different.

 

I hope that they lose alot of faith considering this last 'massive' DLC was said to be protecting people from hackers and cheats. Maybe if they hadn't outright lied again people wouldn't be so critical.

There certainly are/have been PS4 cheaters, several streamers I regularly watch experienced them on stream, when the cheaters were told they were visible cheating on a public stream they immediately left.

Surely, they are not nearly as common as on PC, and I believe that they have fewer options than PC cheaters, god mode and off the radar are the most commonly used 'features'.

They are there, and I've seen evidence that cheat menus are available for XBox as well.

 

Clickbaiters are a plague of their own, lately I've seen plenty youtube recommendations that look to be property owning based clickbait.

Blimey, that seems big compared to this PS4 one, lol.

 

Maybe it just comes up differently and is including the last DLC for some reason, but just a guess as I've never used an Xbox.
