I don’t know what to tell you. I launch the game, and the game starts. It never disconnects.

Maybe it’s region, maybe it’s timezone, maybe it’s internet connection/ISP. For me: Australia, UTC+10, HFC 100/40 (wired). PS4 Pro running the game from external SSD.

Maybe time zone and utc.

That proves absolutely nothing without any sort of information to back it up. That could be a case of someone writing up fanfiction in Notepad.

The fact this supposedly has been leaked, which would be a huge update to RDO, and I've not seen it mentioned (despite the update having been datamined for stuff) makes me think it's getting pulled out of someones arse.

What do the moonshine shacks come about as in the code? Are they written as deeds as well or something different?

That’s why it’s called a leak. What do you expect? Rockstar isn’t going to come out and confirm or deny it. They never comment on leaked  DLC.

The way the files are written out looks legitimate. Even the pricing structure looks like something Rockstar would come up with. And quite a few legit (non-clickbait) RDO YouTubers have done videos about it.

That’s about all you’re going to get, just like with past leaks.

You’re right. Properties were datamined a while ago, even files pertaining to wagons. This data was found with the Naturalist update though.

I'm certain this dates back to day one and a lot of things have changed since then, and is still changing. The shape and form of these findings must have changed at some point, revamped to suit stories and experiences of new roles. I doubt that we are getting them in the same image these findings portray.

I'm not asking for screenshots and videos of the properties, I'm asking for context around where this info comes from.

When a leak drops you shouldn't be sat there going "hmm, this sounds believable", you should be asking your self where it came from. Believable leaks are piss easy to make, figuring out where they came from, which often isn't difficult, is where they always fall apart.

Screenshots that use images from other games, datamined text that isn't actually in the files, etc.

That's a good question. I've been trying to find data about the Moonshiners update, but I keep getting stuff about older updates.

Tracking down the source is always a good way to go, which is what I did to find that image I posted up. I first heard about the supposed leaks from YouTube, and that made me curious.

I've been trying to find the actual post in the picture, but I haven't had much luck. I've seen the name 2 Smokin' Barrels before, and I know he is regularly involved with the RDO community.

I'm all but certain that the next content update later this year will be Collector Role focused.

"We’d love to keep adding new collections and additional variety to Collector gameplay, eventually adding the next step, much in the same way that Moonshiner is the evolution of the Trader. One idea we really want to explore is the idea of posse members each finding a distinctly different part of an item, that when brought together forms the collectible you can log in your collection."

- Katie Pica, Red Dead Online Lead Production Associate

February 5, 2020 Polygon Interview

“Some of the roles would let us introduce more feature-rich businesses and even communal spaces that players can gather and meet up socially, lone wolves and full posses. Maybe even let each player own a part of such a space.”

- Tarek Hamad, Red Dead Online Producer

February 5, 2020 Polygon Interview

"Including some exciting new extensions and augmentations to an existing role in Red Dead Online.”

- Rockstar Games Studios

July 24, 2020 Rockstar Newswire

They've added 3 New Collection Sets to the Collector Role with the Naturalist update. Adding Collectible that have to be pieced together in a group effort would be an "augmentation" to how the Collector Role works. That could mean the Collector Role was the role being teased.

An extension to the Collector Role could tie into the new businesses and communal spaces that was teased. A museum business could be used to display the items we've collected. (GTA Online's Casino Penthouse allows us to display the collectibles Cards and Figurines...)  The value of the Collectibles on display could generate a Passive Income for the business. (It would be a more in depth version of GTA Online's Arcade. Higher value collectibles increase the income more than lower value ones. Quality and quantity of Collectibles opposed to quantity of Arcade Machines.)

The museum could even be a "communal space" with players "owning" a section of the museum to exhibit items from their collection. It could even be way to bring random players together to finish piecing together a collectible. Put the pieces you have on display in your exhibit, then visit other players exhibits in the museum to see if they have the missing pieces you need.

That would be nice addition to the collector role but I would think they would add an extension to the bounty hunter role first. I know there were plenty of upset players when the naturalist role was released seeing how it was more of "Go here, collect this sample, then sell". To keep players playing and interested I think they would work on a combat focused role sooner than later.

The m1899 is not if, it's more of when.

That pistol will 100% be added in eventually.

The Collector expansion/spin-off being up next is a good guess I'd say. Moonshiner and Naturalist are Trader extensions, with Moonshiner being an outlaw version of Trader pretty much. I think we'll expansions/spin-off's of BH and Collector up next. It could be as simple as a proper lawman role or an outlaw role as BH's expansion, I'm kind of hoping for both, potentially in one role in the same way Naturalist has a dual element to it.

Collector's expansion will be interesting in terms of theme, I think the fossils could be a hint towards what we might expect, it could be themed around finding old fossils and remains of legendary animals or individuals or something like that. Tons of potential there in terms of cosmetics they could do, dinosaur trinkets or pieces of old armour and stuff like that. I'm not super convinced that they'll do some type of co-op collectable set that requires other people given how supportive of lone wolf styles of play they've been with every role, even though they've talked about the idea. Think that might be another Photographer role, cool idea but they won't make it work and it'll be scrapped or we'll see remnants of it in the final role like we see how Photography is used in the Naturalist.

Personally though I really, really hope they put effort into these roles in terms of free roam. They're taking an awfully long time to do it cause Rockstar, but they're slowly building up quite a fleshed out free roam experience with a bunch of activities dotted all over the map. Gang hideouts, roadblocks, poacher missions, collectables, random events, legendary animals, treasure hunting and parts of the gameplay loops for a few of the roles, namely Trader and Naturalist. The more stuff they add there the better IMO. I've found Red Dead Online to be at it's absolute best when I can travel around the map with a main goal (or no goal at all, really), like for example finding collectibles, but experience a whole variety of content while doing that. It's a shame that they never really did a BH version of a free roam event in hindsight, they could've done some cool stuff like there from something as simple as a gang hideout with a bounty target to something more subtle like stumbling onto a small camp in the middle of the Grizzlies or something where an outlaw with a bounty on his head is hiding out, giving you the option of taking him in or getting paid to ignore him and leave him be.

The property deeds people keep mentioning have been in the game since launch, at least the PC launch anyway.

Also the prices are not gold, it’s cash! With the increased prices Rockstar is doing for content, those prices now seems on the on the low side.

Another reason for it being day one content, is that there is no gold instead of paying cash value for those deeds, so the property deeds seem like they are cut content from story mode as you don’t need gold there or from a time before online gold bars were introduced or even thought!

Properties are unlikely to arrive before there is a role or a few roles that requires them or partly integrated into a role or few roles or some other type of content that you would need them for since they won’t be just added the game just for somewhere to hang out or just to own!

If they are going to be added, that original properties deeds will need to updated, since some of the locations are now used for other content such as Bounty Hunter so some locations will likely change.

It is doubtful we get properties this year, and it could be that Rockstar will introduce properties once the game re-debuts on the next generation of consoles as an incentive for people to buy the game again if backwards compatibility is not supported, as the game will need upgrading for next generation so it’s not a question of if Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on those consoles, it’s when, and then current generation consoles will no longer be supported.

They really need to redeem themselves with the Collector role. It's the most underwhelming role in the game to date. I remember when the Frontier Pursuits trailer dropped, and during the Collector role segments, they made it seem like you could be an adventurer similar to Indiana Jones, but that's a far cry from what we ended up getting.

If they could expand the Collector role into a Treasure Hunter role, or Adventurer role, where you would be tasked with finding long lost, fabled artifacts, while occasionally coming across other treasure hunters/adventurers that would kill you to get their hands on the same artifact, I would be all for that. That's what the Collector role should've been day one.

Don't get me wrong, the role pays very well when you complete enough sets, but a role like that should be filled with adventure and excitement. Going around random locations to get items isn't fun or exciting. Even some story content with Madam Nazar would help spice it up. There is no story content though. It's just a very bare bones role.

With regards to the further roles to Naturalist, I have quickly scanned through this file: https://rdodlc.xyz/files/naturalist/update/common/progression/compendium_mp.html

It's not a confirmation of if Fishing or Bird Watching, Herbalist related roles will be introduced, but it is a complete list of all compendium items for online, including weapons and such.

Single player has a separate list: https://rdodlc.xyz/files/naturalist/update/common/progression/compendium.html

Its a long list to go through, but the fact that there is full compendium for online separate to single player would lead me to believe there will be a proper online compendium added eventually like the animal guide for anything else not related to the Naturalist Role.

The bobcat finding is indeed weird, highly unlikely they add a whole new specie. Which is probably not the case of the pistol...they are not disabling forever one of the best and more fancy handguns of the game, thats ilogical. some lesser content as the coats of certain breeds will likely stay exclusive though.

This could be fun, in story mode finding all of the easter egg locations was one of my favorite things to do. With the fossils in the update I am hoping that it is an indicator that we are going to be actually hunting for more "unique" items instead of just bottles or cards. I hope that this role is the one that actually brings out the ability to study the mysterious legends that are in the game, like maybe we can find out a bit more about some of the strange locations through the items we find, etc.

So the day before yesterday and yesterday you really couldn't play the game anymore. You are on your horse and suddenly it brakes and you slide three times or more through the against and suddenly your own horse is no longer your own and you have to call it again. And after a few seconds the same thing happens again. Really annoying.
