I’m glad they’re making new characters for once and not recycling story characters, like they always do in GTAO.

 

That said, it’s weird for Gus to be the one taking the trapper’s stalls. Makes no sense for a groomed man with fancy clothes to be churning... whatever that liquid is he needs to process pelts into clothing. Couldn’t have Rockstar let him camp somewhere like Harriet and Nazar, but with bodyguards and a worker around?

 

As for Hamish, well, I imagine they have unspecified reasons to not rehire his actor, or the trapper for that matter, otherwise they wouldn’t have created Gus.

Man... WTF is wrong with this game? I was in West Elizabeth just now and the weather changed from daytime, to nighttime, to blizzard and then hailstorm in like 5 seconds. My horse kept de-spawning whenever I was riding it.

 

I assumed it was just a hacker and alt+f4'd.

Yes, sounds like a hacker. This game is full of hackers right now  I am thinking about switching to console but I won't do it

Saw a hacker the other day on console. Was in valentine and all of a sudden all of the npcs started exiting town all together in one big clump. And of course couldn't shoot the player nearby at all. Noped out so fast.

Remember a week ago when it released we had criticism that there wasn't any tutorial or anything to come with the role? Well I guess they listened and made a tips and tricks page for the update.

It's nice to see them engaging with the community, posting tips and sharing photos/tweets from players. A step in the right direction

With the legendary spawns as it stands, it makes me want to uninstall the game lmao. I spent hours looking for one of the gators, had the right time, weather conditions and everything... nothing.

 

Private sessions are a must, or they need to remove the speculated but increasingly believable theory that legendary spawns are on a session wide cooldown.

 

It is good that they posted a pretty damn comprehensive guide to the role, it needed that for new players cause it was confusing as hell at first. Hopefully they can address the legendary spawn issues soon too.

I personally think it deserves its own topic, it would stop alot of the blind rage people may come here to expunge.

I just hope they fix them soon, it would be very sh*tty of them having us wait until December for a fix. I can see people quitting because of this.

I switch 3 years ago from pc only to xbox 1 and have zero regrets. 

PC games are full of cheaters.

I like how Rockstar tells us to nudge small animals like water snakes to the shore, like an animation to grab it would have been appreciated.

Even in private sessions, they are hard to find. And I'm using 2 PS4s, so I can use an alt acc with a lower role rank (10 right now) to have a better chance at spawning them, since the rank 15 perk is likely bugged.

Just riding around in circles to spawn a legendary is getting really boring, and I feel like I have found about half of them outside their preferred time of day and weather conditions.

I don't feel like they are more likely to spawn when it's the right time of day and with the right weather conditions.

I don't understand why you would do this anyway. Just play the game as you always did before and you will randomly come across them when you least expect it. Why stress about it?

All this glitching into solo lobbies, and using multiple accounts is just a waste of time and energy as far as I am concerned. 

There really isn't even a reason to rush through it.

Everyone who is criticizing legendary animals spawns is playing as they always did before and they aren't randomly coming across them. That's the issue.

 

It's not a case of "rushing" through it either. For one, a lot of players have exhausted the games content due to the seven month drought, so legendary animals (lets not forget there's like 30+ of them) are something new and (IMO) fun to hunt. Personally, and I don't think it's right to assume everyone else is either, I haven't been trying to "rush" them, I've played daily since the update and some of that has been leveling up the role, some of that has been specifically hunting these legendary animals, some of it has been collecting across the map hoping to find one on the side. I've been doing a bunch of stuff besides hunting specifically for them.

 

Players are going dozens of hours without seeing one. ONE. Players are meeting all the conditions to maximise their spawn chance (time of day and weather) and still not seeing LA's full stop. Do the maths, if it takes dozens of hours to find just one then that's thousands of hours to find them all.

 

There's no ifs or buts and there's no way to sugar coat it, something is not right with them, they are either broken or far too rare.

I get it man, people do what they do, but I have came across the Bison twice now and neither time was I looking for it.

Perhaps there is a cool down per player, like once you find one or take a mission from the girl for one that it locks you out for a period of time.

 

What I am seeing in this thread is people are using the map and going to the spawn point and just waiting, or riding in circles... Maybe they don't spawn when people are near.

I'm really not bitching or trolling I just feel differently than most of the guys on here.

Like I said it was just my 0.02 for what it's worth.

Yup, my goal was to max the naturalist role and then hunt all the Legendaries as a big FU to Harriet. Apparently she does communicate with the animals and has warned them that I'm coming. 

 

I've only seen four Legendaries, all within the first two days of the update being out. The Zizi Beaver just when I started the role, the Cogi Boar twice, first someone knocked it out a second when I was level 17 with my friend who just started the role, and finally the Ota Fox when someone knocked it out as I was riding past.

 

Something is bugged here as I don't think it's a coincidence that within the first few days the Legendaries were spawning quite frequently.

Neither do I. I don't think think we're meant to find none in a week, either, and that is where I'm at. I found one on day one, when I was Naturalist level two, and I've not found another since. Seven days of active playing without seeing one.

 

That's the issue. There's nothing to defend here, there's something wrong lol.

There are 42 spots in the field guide for legendary animals but not all of them are currently in the game. They're being dripfed. I'm not sure how many are available to find right now. I've only found one LA in freeroam so far and I'm only rank 10 naturalist

The legendary ones are all attached to the coat. And in most cases can't be shot off. Although one time my Zizi Beaver coat/hat got shot off. I was able to pick it up and put it back on.

It’s a hood for the coat. You can wear the coat with the hood down (i.e. basically removed), but you can’t wear the hood without the coat.
