It's gonna be hard for them to regain anything back from me.

 

Right now our relationship is a akin to having a bad ex that you've raised a family with, they're the mother or father of your kids so you love them for what they gave you, but you aren't going to go out of your way to love them anymore than that.

 

I'll be around for the sake of my character and the fact that they gave me Arthur, John, and the gang. But if R* doesn't step up I'm not going to give 'em any praise.

 

The Halloween Pass might make me a little more generous though....

Yes and no. If R* keep us updated with things and not leave us in the dark for 7 months then i will keep my faith in them but saying that this most recent update was hit and miss for me.

Somewhat.

It was nice to see those 7 months were spent actually fixing critical gamebreaking issues.

Granted a few remain, but it is nowhere near as bad as it was.

We shall see what the future brings. If we have to wait another 7 months to get the hair and gunbelts fixed... We are right back to square one in terms of faith.

For now I'd say yes, but some of the decisions that were made with this update are mind boggling. I haven't really gotten to play this update much yet but each time I play I find more things I like but also just as many things I don't like. Most of the things in this game are great in concept but they have been poorly executed. I saw a photo of the legendary bison hood today and I had to laugh. The bison head almost looks smaller than the wolf heads which makes no sense? There's no was we would logically be able to wear a bison's head on ours. Why couldn't it have looked like the Tatanka hood from SP? and why are all the coats the exact same sans animal head? I enjoy this role, but it looks much better on paper than what Rockstar has done with it. If they can get their heads together and actually bring an update to it's full potential, then RDO could really take off

I heard that the Halloween pass will come on October 20th.  We also get a new role called the magician role. The Halloween pass ends on November 3 and the gold that you pay will not get again.  there are also Halloween schawdons and and and. there will be a winter update in December and we will get the lawman / outlwa role .

To me, the advanced camera is well worth it. I used the kit camera a bit first and hated it. I thought I was standing directly in front of the animal, but when I equipped the kit camera it didn’t seem to be pointing in the same direction. The advanced camera let’s you move much more freely, so much easier. The advanced camera also has white framing bars when using it. Those turn green when you have the animal in the picture, so you know when to snap. Makes it easy to get a picture when the animal is in grass, bushes, fog, etc...basically point the thing until you see the green and snap. I just wish we could use the camera on horseback. And not being able to use eagle eye when the camera is equipped is annoying.

Depends on whether or not the game decides it goes into the Thrown Weapons slot instead of Melee.

I love the fact that we're probably gonna get new content in October with the Halloween Pass, Rockstar doesn't want to repeat the last 7 months with a long content drought. Rockstar is on a good path right now with regards to RDO, hopefully they continue with that.

I would like to share your optimism and at least for the rest of the year I can agree.

 

But we said the same back in May 2019 when they surprise dropped the Spring Update and announced the roles the same day giving us a roadmap.

But then we had to wait another 4 months.

But when we finally got Frontier Pursuits and Moonshiners actually came out in time after 3 months, people said R* is on the right track.

But then came the bugs, the bad or non existent dripfeed, no communication and no content for 7 months.

 

Now it seems they are on the right track again. The update isn't bugged like Moonshiner, we have a roadmap and good dripfeed as well. We also get a Pass in between the two major updates and we know we will get extensions and augmentations to an existing role.

 

But the true test for me is the beginning of 2021. Do we need to wait again until July or will R* actually communicate with us in the beginning of the year, giving us a roadmap and actually have some decent content in spring? If they do that, then they are on a good path.

Right now they are, and same as you, I really hope they continue with that this time for real.

That’s a bit unfair.  The long wait this time (even if it was unacceptable) was obviously due to the exceptional circumstances of the pandemic.  We won’t have another 7 month drought like that. Come on.

I saw an interesting video on YouTube today. A German YouTuber said that we will probably get a map extension in the next few weeks (so he mean the guarma map) he said that with the new update there are many hints to guarma. 

his hints are the guarma filter

and the guarma flag from the battelpass

and the jaguar.

What is your opinion?

I know that you can wear, for instance, the fox hat with the coat from a legendary animal.

Just equip the latter and then the former. The head from the legendary animal will disappear and be replaced with the hat

Sorry to butt in but it wasn't just about the 7 month content drought. It was mostly about R* not communicating with us. They should've told us that they're working on a update and that there had been a big delay to it. Just a short and simple statement like that would've been fine by me but no they just left us in the dark for 7 months.

The new naturalist role should have been one of the first roles, as I’ve been ignoring most of the animals I don’t need for the Trader Role so I keep forgetting to do anything for the naturist role when riding around and all the animals that come across my path... now I have to keep track of ones I need to photograph, sample, kill etc.
 

It’s like I have to learn how to play the game all over again and all my muscle memory needs to be reset!

Why do you have to?

All you have to do to level up this role is sell samples to that girl. They can all come from the same animal type.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I managed to find two new additions to the score possibly for the Halloween update, which may indicate that we are getting 1 or 2 new game modes. @Fun 2 would be good to hear your thoughts on what you think this might mean.

I think there might be a temporary Halloween free mode event, but I cannot confirm that right now.

 

I will be uploading all the icons and images from this update to https://rdodlc.xyz soon but I need to sort through what is new and what is old before I overwrite all the old content with the new stuff, unless I create a separate folder for it as there is a lot of duplicates.

Now this is exciting! Thank you for sharing these @IzzyBlues93, and I do hope that this means they are really focusing on some worthwhile content for the halloween season.

 

Last year was pretty cool, and that showdown mode Fear of the Dark was so much fun. Normally I don't do showdowns, but I actually played that one for a few hours straight. The pictures that I've seen so far for this one are promising if true.

 

Hey I've got to latch onto any sign of hope for this game.

I agree, I love RDO and I'll continue to play it, I'm having fun with the new update, but the lack of communication is very unprofessional. I don't understand what R* higher up thinks this silence is good for them, all we need is a roadmap or someone to assure us that there will be content and when to look forward to.

They will forever be "Elsa" to me and they've been awfully quiet today, don't you think .

 

I've got to admit the images, music and possible (probable?) Halloween Pass that has been found has got me excited. I probably won't like the Showdown mode, because I very rarely like any PvP modes R* make, but things like the Shack decor look great.

 

I'm also pleased that there's evidence that R* have actually thought and planned ahead.

Jeez, riding around and seeing all the animals, the sheer volume, makes me wonder two things...did rockstar have the animal spawn issue fixed some time ago and sat on the fix until this DLC was released? Or, was this DLC delayed, at least in part, because they couldn’t fix the animal spawn issue and knew this DLC couldn’t work with the terrible spawn rates?
