RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Nope, Rockstar don't seem to preload the next updates any more, or at least I've not seen it being done with RDO.

 

I've been through most of the game files, as extracted all the game icons and textures etc.

A Newswire in January 2020 that teased major updates in 2020 for RDO and GTAO and hinted to role expansions and also linked to the September 2019 vg24/7 interview.

And an interview in February that talked about RDO's potential next steps including collector expansion and communal spaces.

Also all the things we found in game files like legendary animals, dynamic events, free roam mission characters and ability cards.

Also the note on Social Club that the next Outlaw Pass is coming soon shortly after Outlaw Pass 2 expired on March 10th.

Also credible sources like TezFunz2 talked about the Photographer role being part of the spring update and legendary animals and the trapper being potentially part of it.

Even he thinks it is a possibility that R* combines the spring and summer update.

It is kinda obvious that they had 3 updates in mind for 2020. 1st between March and June. 2nd between June and September. 3rd between September and December.

I will bow my head and admit I was wrong but I do still expect to see something on Thursday. It might not be RDO related but I expect to see something from R*. Imagine if it was the RDR1 Remaster as Single Player DLC (the game just smoothly transitions into RDR1 with all the RDR2 bells and whistles, your weapons, horse, clothing etc) and later we will see the Mexico portion of the map added in a massive Update...THE massive update we have been waiting for.

The fact that there hasn't been an update on QABETA2 or 3 today yet could be a good one. Normally there where updates by the morning of each monday (CET) during the last couple of weeks. Perhaps we are finally getting some first details soon? We'll see...

Nothing in this list convinces me they had a Spring update planned. All I see is old news and no results, the old "soon" trademark and a load of assumptions. Obvious they had 3 updates in mind? Based on what information? 

You really think investors are interested in RDO or GTAO separately? All they are interested in is making money off T2 stock. And as long as they are, they really can't be arsed where T2 is getting their revenue from. Investors might interfere when their own earnings go low on T2 stock or when they feel their money is wasted on losing projects. 

 

Here's one for ya. What if investors called out to Rockstar to stop support on a dying monetary horse and urge them to put more efforts in betting on the cash cow farm, as most likely happened when Rockstar pulled back their plans for GTAV story mode DLC? Did any of their investors sue them? No, because the huge angry player mob was nothing to worry about, while revenue went sky rocketing high. If you’re looking for signs, look at the announcement of an enhanced and expanded version of GTAV and a stand alone version for GTAO on PS5, and none for RDR2 or RDO. There’s your sign. 

 

If there is one thing we've learned for certain from Rockstar's intentions in the past, they don't keep it and won't inform us about it.

Take-Two aren't liable to be sued because they said "X is arriving in 2020" and it didn't happen. The video game industry is one of delays and cancellations and investors are very aware of this.

 

Investor calls in general should not be used as some gospel, they never have any information revealed there and at best Take-Two studios will sometimes time announcements around those calls but that is not a sure thing and it's only typically a thing for major announcements as far as I remember.
