Coming to Red Dead Online this August

 

Expanding all Frontier Pursuits, New Lawman Specialist Role and More

 

This August, the next major Update to Red Dead Online will offer the largest variety of content additions the game has seen so far.

 

Last year we established the concept of Frontier Pursuits, by introducing 4 Specialist Roles enabling new ways to fully inhabit your character as you progress and carve out your own place on the frontier.

This summer, the world will evolve again, with the introduction of 2 new Specialist Roles and Enhancements for all Frontier Pursuits and experiences in Red Dead Online.

 

Become a Lawman (or woman) for a life of constant action to protect your people from the lawless, ruthless, and ambitious. Any Bounty Hunter who reached rank 5 or honorably completed 3 bounty missions can get a proper badge from the law office in Valentine. Start your honorable career by leasing a property to get access to your own office. From there, you will take on the most notorious gangs of the five states. Tame the frontier and engage in new challenges and gameplay to unlock brand-new role specific items.

 

There is much more to share about the Lawman, the second Specialist Role, updates to all existing roles, new cooperative Story Missions, new features and additional enhancements to the Red Dead Online experience.

All due respect, if that was to be the case, it's certainly where I give up and move on. I'd go back to RDR2 v1.0 and save a few gig of space on my PS as I do love this story mode, but online would finally die off as it all just sounds 'uugh, more of the same crap I already don't like' to me.

 

I'm seriously hoping R* have seen this way isn't reaching the games potential and used this long period of nothing to have a rethink and look to overhaul the game as a whole.

You and me.....sadly i think both will be waiting for Godot even longer then the rest of the Playerbase which is OK with current State of RDO and will be satisfied with some "expansions" of current Gameplay.

Funny thing is they did tweet when the work from home started, they tweeted that it shouldn’t delay their plans at all, THE LIES LOL

If there ever is a DLC that has something to do with the undead, I think the body decaying mechanic could be utilized in it to a good extent

You don't know how near the truth you are, but the fanboys won't listen...

 

R*/T2 is focusing on the "next gen console release" and can probably milk more money out of a "enhanced version of RDO".

 

So my 5 cents is that the next RDO update is in about 5 months from now...

Then you will be disappointed.

 

We are lucky if the next update offers even half of the things I wrote in the imaginary R* newswire.

2 new roles, updates to all previous roles, new story missions and qol for everything is like the best we can hope for, and also very unrealistic. We won't even get that in the next update. So if that doesn't satisfy you, you should probably move on as you stated.

YES! We need those bikes. Imagine the 'high speed' street racing thru Saint Denis and stunt jumping of mountains.     Some new weapons is also needed. And buildable houses.    I'd rather have stuff like that than new missions that become boring after two runs.

I don't see a photography role as having any staying power. It'll be interesting for a week when it's all new, but R* won't make it a money faucet like Collector (which I am sure they see as a mistake), so once it starts to feel repetitive without a financial incentive we'll be back to demanding fresh content.
