RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Realistically I don't think we'll be hearing or seeing anything until September or December. But I'm more inclined to believe we aren't getting anything until next gen versions ship, and that could be next year.

I think that rokstar heard us and they changed the update (for example, I mean that rokstar changed the role of photographer on the Explorer roll because rokstar have see that we not like this roll) . @fun2 what do you think?

I doubt we will see an update this month. July is exactly six months before December, I think they are following through with their promise about expanded Roles and that's it. One update in July and then another in December and then f*ck us, buy the next gen version. I wouldn't expect an update until July 18th.

In that case I want hell u va Halloween update with zombies, something like slasher from GTA:O. New free mode event with PvE where we need to keep the denizens out of harm.

Hope that NG has better snow during winter. This last year was so disappointing! I want waist deep snow in Ambarino and knee deep in Strawberry, Valentine and Annisburg!

If R* plays their cards right they will have made a deal with Xbox to show whatever is next in store for RDR2 at their July event.

This was a thought I had as well.  GTA V info with the PS5 announcement is most likely because of some exclusive deal with Sony(PS5 users will get the game 3 months early?).  I was thinking they are doing something similar with the new Xbox but for Red Dead....Although, so far Xbox users have been given the shaft to this point compared to PS4 users who have had various perks since RDO launch.

but Sony had already the Deal on Rdr2 i dont think microsoft make it now

If I remember correctly Sony only had the exclusive deal with R* over RDO for a year. It's been a year since RDO came out so they can make deals with whomever they want. R* stands to make serious bank by playing both companies off against each other as they pay more and more to one-up each other.

RDR2 at the Xbox July event is highly likely.

 

For me the only question is how they time RDO update announcement and launch.

Do they want to do it alongside (+/- a few days or weeks) the RDR2 NextGen announcement to create more hype for RDO update maybe?

 

Could be, then July makes more sense. From what I've heard the event won't be early July but sometimes around July 16-23.

Good timing with RDO update between  July 21-28?

Yes, this is bad news. I think it means that the qabeta2 update was again for a PC update or some sort and that they are still in qabeta3 with the DLC update. I don't know if Fun thinks the same or that the update still is very close.

Everyone keeps making fun of me on the private jets thing LOL

 

If the UFC (a multi billion dollar company) can bring in fighters on a private jet to put on events why can’t T2 (a multi billion dollar company) do the same for their actors? I mean there is a lot of money riding on GTO and RDO updates. Wouldn’t they try move heaven and earth to get it done? Especially for GTO.

No offense, but what you said was probably the most dumbest thing I've read on these forums and that's saying a lot.

 

Do you really think it's feasible for Rockstar to be doing as something like that? Not only are they risking breaking the law with whatever laws/sanctions/restrictions that are in place due to COVID-19, it's not financially viable to hire a f*cking private plane to fly a bunch of no name mocap actors to do mocap sessions. There are health and safety concerns as well. Not sure if you've been reading this thread, but mocap sessions across all video game development studio's (not just Rockstar) are doing it tough and have expressed that mocap and VA work is very difficult to do now.

Even IF they were able to hire private jets for some mocap actors, which is a very unrealistic idea anyway, a lot of countries in the world are on lockdown and don't accept foreigners. You are also taking the risk for having to go in a mandatory quarantine for 2 weeks. It's just not realistic to do this, for a simple GTAO & RDO DLC.

Not dumb, lol. Just stubborn and refusing to understand some issues that are effecting many companies at the moment.

 

You could be right and that mo-cap was done long ago or R* found a way. But you could equally be wrong and R* might be struggling in areas like this. No one knows, but surely by reading all opinions on the matter, you have to admit that potential for allsorts of disruption to the creative processes, including mo-cap.

i said it as a joke at first and everyone got so worked up on it I decided to defend it for fun

 

personally I don’t think mocap is what held them up (and no I don’t think they hired private jets for their actors) I just think they ended up combining two updates into one once the pandemic hit. 
 

everyone needs to chill and stop taking everything so seriously LOL y’all still cool though, I like this forum.

Let say the mocap is the missing part..... There is a lot of studios around the world who does that stuff so why not rent one?

Must hit R20 Collector, then periodically get mail from Madame Nazar who sends you instructions on what life-threatening situations you'll be required to get yourself into to take photos she's willing to buy.  Immerse yourself in challenges like "Take selfies with 3 different apex predators while they are charging you" and "Take closeups of lawmen after you've punched them in the face".
