This game had so much potential...

We could have our owns farms milking our cows, dealing with unwelcome visitors, having our crops or getting eggs from our chickens. And then selling all of those to local businesses. Nothing crime related just a honest cowboy

 

But no that ain't gonna happen now ain't it? Another week of nothing.

It is laughable.

 

Yeah, there will be players this helps, but I'd dare say most day one players don't need any of this. 

 

I don't know how many poison arrows I have, but it's more than I'll use, I've got 9 full sets of coins, would be 10 if it wasn't for the bugged coins and I've got a full set of maps waiting for a bonus payout.

 

I'm surprised they're still bothering to do "event weeks".

I haven't played for almost 2 months and this says something.

I'm not playing a lot and not a lot of games, RDO was my regular game I played pretty regulary since beta.

I never took such a long break where I played not at all.

I guess this speaks to the state of the community.

Honest question for @Fun 2.

 

So there was the thing about qabeta2 a week or two ago, is that now irrelevant because of the pc patch or does it still signal an update is near?

 

Also anything we should be looking for? are there any weird things happening?

 

If they had planned on releasing both GTO and RDO updates in the same week or near eachother like December, what happens if the GTO was actually police themed and now they have to delay it because of real world events?

Lets be honest its been 9 months since the last real update. Moonshiners was a coat of paint which hardly even works half the time.

 

Its nice to have consistent PC patching for technical issues, but why nothing to address the core game-play issues across all platforms in 6 months?

 

What in the world are they doing? How hard is it for them to stay we're working on stuff?

 

I don't believe RDO has been abandoned but the lack of communication is a joke.

Bug free missions would be good. The Moonshiner missions are particularly annoying in that regard.

A fix to encounters would do a lot. If we had more dynamics event the game shouldn´t feel so dead!

As I've said before, the very first thing they need to do is get the hackers out of the game.  There's no value in having new content if you can't play it because a hacker is disrupting your game and making the whole thing unstable.

Honestly, at this rate adding legendary animals, the photograph role, et cetera, just will not cut it. With all the time they are taking, this next update has too contain more.

When The Grand Korrigan is opened I would prefer the riverboat stay out on the river instead of docking in Saint Denis. 
 

I would be interested in having multiple new boat/ferry fast travel post on multiple spots of the Lannahechee River, Flat Iron Lake and San Luis River. This will allow for quick access from many areas of the map and avoid one area for tryhards to camp for kills like the GTA casino entrance. 
 

Hopefully before the casino opens we receive a waterman/fishing update that allows for owning/spawning of boats to also have freedom to float out and gamble.

I've completely lost any hope of any update coming out this year. I'm not expecting anything until early next year purely because of the pandemic.

If they announce the GTAO dlc before RDO I’m gonna have to agree with you, if that happens I might just have to move on from this game completely.

i know how you feel. and i understand. but i am not at that stage yet. i feel like we will still get at least one update this year. if we dont get any new dlc this year. than i would say rockstar should just shut their servers off for good. i really hope this does not happen. but who knows. at this point i have mixed thoughts. on one hand i love this game and would hate to see it die so early and pathetically. but on the other hand. i am getting so sick and tired of checking every week to see if they gave us some info.

The reason why I'm at that thinking stage now, is because it's already been 6 months which is just outrageous. Whose to say that Rockstar won't wait another 6 months to drop something? I remember thinking back in March after the second outlaw pass expired we'd at least hear some news, and then myself along with many others kept clinging onto the hope that "maybe next month" we'll hear something. And then the month after that, and then the month after that, and then the month after this one. And here we are. I have zero faith in seeing an update this year. Rockstar have proven themselves to be completely unpredictable these past few years.

sure i know what you mean. and i guess i should not be surprised if they do that. but i still feel like we should at least get something. i see people saying that photography role would not be enough. but at this point i would be more than happy with it. even though im not really into the idea of that role. i would just be happy to finally get something new. but who knows.

Yeah, I've said before that we're at the point where the next update won't be enough unless it's huge.

 

GTAO had Heists by this point in its life and RDO needs an update on a similar scale to have any hope of breathing some life back into it.

A ferry was cut content from SP, the Lemoyne Eastern Riverboat Co., it has icons and dock locations in Saint Denis, Blackwater and (I think) Guarma.

I understand. But we will get at least 2 updates this year.

 

In January Rockstar stated in their newswire, where they talked about GTAO and RDO success, that RDO updates that expand the roles are coming this year and linked to the vg24/7 article that talked about photography, lawmen, industrialists and robberies.

Then in February they talked with Polygon in an interview and talked about some things that could be coming next including expanding the collector and communal spaces.

 

And just a few weeks ago (late May) at the T2 investor call, T2 said their will be multiple RDO updates this year.

 

It could be 2, maybe July and December, maybe June and November.

It could also be 3, like June, September, December etc....

 

I understand the frustation, their communication is sh*t, but updates are still coming.

As I said for the third time, we would not expect an major update of RDO until the "next gen of consoles" a k a PS5 and XBox X is released! 
And that is around 5-6 month ahead (Thansksgiving/Xmas)

Yes, qabeta2 update turns out to be for the recent PC patch, it's a good indication of something coming soon, but Rockstar can always change it up whenever they want, it happened back then with GTAO, we didn't know whether Rockstar stopped using qabeta2 or whether it was used as the main development branch. Regardless, we don't have a similar case with RDO, but it can always happen. I'm not noticing any weird thing at the moment, qabeta3 is being updated regularly as usual.

I don't think Rockstar is gonna do that "back to back" release again, it was done because they were in a tough situation where they had to meet the deadline, otherwise risk working during the holiday break. Nowadays, it's a different case because of the pandemic, it's all about trying to finish the update no matter how long it takes.
