RDO Next Updates Speculation & General Chat (Part I)

Any info on what's coming next? I've been out of the loop a while.

 

I kind of think they should do something huge to revive the game properly. Map expansion (Mexico?) with content for both single player and multiplayer. Gets some goodwill, gets people talking about the game in general again.

 

As it is, a ton of the content creators I know of have long since dropped the game. Just not viable unless they want their channel to die. Something big could get enough hype to them to maybe give it a second chance - then build from there.

 

That said, the game's hopelessly broken, so they kind of have to sort that first. Ah, I don't know.

 

I'll settle for the Rockstar Editor I guess. Invite sessions would be nice so the animals aren't extinct anymore too.

How would they be connected? It wouldn't really make sense to have the editor be something in-game related.

 

Where are the R* Editor rumours coming from anyway?

People keep asking for a Mexico expansion, but I think it is the last thing what this game needs at this point.

It would be a lot of work for little outcome.

There already is a huge map to explore and I doubt players have gotten tired of it yet, I believe filling this world with meaningful gameplay is a lot more important.

Specifically with dynamic Player encounters with non-violent options, I believe Rockstar needs to go all out on the theme of allowing the Roles to interact with each other properly.

Bounty Hunters, hunting players was a good start, but it was way too optional, it needs to be a mandatory game mechanic that is meaningful.

Player interaction is the only thing that can make this game a long term viability, with just PvE stuff added, R* would need to constantly produce new missions and new content to play, which is hopeless given that they will never be faster to produce than players are in playing these missions, a system that incorporates PvE and PvP elements in a meaningfull way is hence what is needed.

Also people keep asking for private lobbies, but I think it would go against the games design philosophy and kind of defeat the essence of it, if you want to play alone, you might as well play in Singleplayer.

For first it's R* we are talking about. And second I think it's wishful thinking from player base and we got a photo mode for Pc

Map expansion could be great if they update the map by multiple dlc. Ad a railroad here, expand Blackwater there.

Letting players hunt griefers who are bounty hunters. And give said bounty hunters boosted stats.

I think I will just give up on this game and the daily streak. It's clear Rockstar has no clear roadmap for this game like they do for GTAO. Even the next role, photography as per @Fun 2 sounds really boring and no fun.
