I really wish they'd add friend and crew halos, plus it shouldn't require them to be in your posse to be visible at all distances.

They have internal analytics, on how many players have ranked up which role, you might have Collector Level 20, but maybe 80% of the player base have not.

Hence they give out the bonus to incentivise it.

Rockstar has a very solid Analytics system in place, it is probably the only thing they are good at, at the moment, Data Analytics is a huge deal nowadays, especialy in things such as GTA Online or Red Dead Online, as EVERYTHING about the consumer can be measured. This is how they give out special discounts targeted to specific players as well.

Each player is categorized, into a specific sub-catergory, and advertising and pricing is done individually to that player, it is pretty much a Business mans wet dream.

I can tell you camp is still broken wouldn't spawn at all today.

It's a PC specific patch for some crash fixes:

 

[April 2, 2020] - General / Miscellaneous (PC)

  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to crash on launch with ‘ERR_GFX_STATE’ due to a corrupted shader cache. Players should no longer need to use -ignorepipelinecache in their launch arguments or to manually delete game files to work around this issue (https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360040482073/)
  • Fixed several crashes and stuttering issues when using Vulkan on some systems with multiple graphics cards
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when switching between graphics APIs and display modes on some systems
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when changing settings on some systems with integrated graphics
  • Fixed a crash that occurred in Story Mode while running the game in Offline mode from a mapped network drive
  • Fixed several random crashes that occurred during gameplay in Story Mode and Red Dead Online

  • Fixed an issue that occurred when attempting to run the game on some versions of the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build

And also the props still disappear while leaving the icon on the map (which of course means you can't use the camp, moving it may or may not fix it).

 

The shine shack does appear to be more stable.

You probably know this but starting a posse usually fixes that. At least it works for me, like 95% of times.

idk how they made money from rdo , two or three updates per year with  little content 

 

you can easy farm gold with the dailys challenger i'm sitting with 100, im play like 30 m every day lol

I will be sorely disappointed if after all this time R* does not give us something good. Just a single Role that takes at most a week of casual play to complete and then nothing for months. When we got the Frontier Roles I thought that would be it, three Roles per update but Moonshiners sh*t on that. Properties would be a good thing to add.

Actually thinking about it the entire economy is broken. As many people have said its so easy to make money and Gold that unless they are charging like ten thousand dollars for properties then its still not an end game goal. The lack of content and the massive gap between that lack of content means that even casual players have money and Gold.

yeah they are being way to slow about putting out stuff at this point. The economy won't be bad if they had stuff to spend money on or reasons to spend it. I like that stuff isn't way overpriced but the lack of things to buy makes it sh*tty.

It took me about a month of constant playing each night to max out all three Roles and The Outlaw Pass. Moonshiners took about a week, I was very disappointed.

The difference with GTAO being that we had loads and loads of end game items to work towards and it was a while before we got ways to make serious money, this game has nothing and we got three ways to make serious money in the second update.

While I do not personally enjoy Moonshiner as a business, it did at least come with a property and a chain of missions that were fun the first time through. That gives it a little more "content" than the other roles.

 

Unfortunately the buy-in cost was also higher. 25 gold and 2k+ in shack upgrades... all too much in my opinion. The cost is a sign of things to come.

"End game items" matter to a certain subset of players, but I could give 2 sh*ts about completionism.  I came into GTAO basically the same time as RDRO [that is to say, late--last summer] but I was all about GTA since I played it before.  I got bored of the SP, jumped into online and there I was.  

 

With RDRO, I was relatively "early" into the online experience and R* failing to capture of the atmosphere in SP is the biggest whiff...I do enjoy the online game when it works, because it's beautiful, but it's not as alive as SP, it's not as dynamic as SP, but even as a relatively "casual" 1-2 hour player per day or every other day...there is nothing for me to work for right now other than my buddy who just started playing it [which is really cool to do, don't get me wrong].

Totally agree the costs are gonna go up with subsequent releases, and the Moonshiner role is fun enough but gets stale after 20 deliveries...It's the Chumash Bunker just with a wagon that is made of papier maché instead of 2-4 dune buggys or Marshalls.

 

Not doing more immersive, meaningful stuff has failed RDRO, along with the bugs.  Here's to hoping they can figure it out because it is a beautiful world and the players, by and large, are much more friendly/helpful than GTAO

Yeah, but the Bunker occasionally blesses you with Phantom Wedge. The beer buggy never gets better.

With the way they're treating this game, I wouldn't be surprised if they just stopped supporting it after like 2 or 3 more updates. 

 

I'm guessing they'll try a heist update and if that doesn't bring in the numbers then that's a wrap.

Because they are too busy orally pleasuring themselves. They know they have people eating out of the palm of their hand and whatever they put out will be gobbled up whenever they put it out. Even Fortnite has a road map, Fortnite.

Said this a few weeks ago. I could see them dropping support for the game after the next batch of consoles are released. Or at the bare minimum stop support for PS4 and Xbox, basically give them up as a bad job, go in at the base level and fix sh*t then resell the game on PS5 and the next Xbox.

I highly doubt it to be honest.

Rockstar made it clear more than once Red Dead Online is here to stay and will be their primary focus. Remember GTA Online? I think people said the same about that game.

The good thing about R* is, they aren't Google, they stick to a product until it goes well, they stuck with GTA Online until it brought in numbers, and they are going to do the same with Red Dead Online.

 

However they might leave old Generation consoles behind once the Next Generation comes around, as they did with GTA Online on Last Generation platforms.

GTAO wether had the gamebreaking bugs of RDO, nore the lack of content.

 

RDO is absolutely not playable for me (and my only friend left, which isplaying it), because the bugs are destroying any game within 30 minutes...

 

and there is no content since months....they have to be very very diligent, if they want tpo keep this game alive...because its dying again

That actually is not really true.

GTA Online in its first year was bugged and the Matchmaking was broken, only thing that worked were Missions and Jobs with max 6 players.

Not to mention the "millionair days", when Modders took over the game.

 

Red Dead Online is still in a playable state, although on consoles it still has plaguing issues, such as the Camp not spawning and animal spawns, but these issues are mostly attributed to connection, similar to how Matchmaking didn't work in GTA Online initially.

 

I also would disagree that Red Dead Online has less content than GTA Online had at its state respective to its release time:
Only thing GTA Online had at the time were a few additional missions, new cars, clothing and guns.

 

Red Dead Online on the other hand already got 2 substantial expansions, with the Frontier Pursuits Update and the Moonshiners Update, and its own fully set Storyline with cutscenes, in addition to another story line with the Moonshiners Update.

Furthermore with a host of new clothing, guns, customization, Camp customization, Legendary Bounties, and its own role specific progression added.

It really isn't quite lacking in content, perhaps for the hardcore players it is, but certainly not a lot more than GTA Online used to be.

Gta Online was their first "MMO" so I'll give them a pass on the lack of content during their 1st year and half although I did not feel the lack of content as much as I do in RDO because GTA offers much more variety when it comes to its gameplay. Plus there was the Creator and free aim servers which kept my friends and I busy. 

 

RDO should have hit the ground running but the beta period stalled its momentum and it took like a year to get its first meaty update. The game also suffers from tons of bugs which make a lot of the content unplayable, not to mention the PVP which is horribly balanced. 

 

Like I said, I understand why GTA Online had a bad start but I can't give RDO the same treatment because they really should have learnt what went wrong with GTAO and tried to avoid repeating the same mistakes. It's been almost 1 and half years, which is within the time frame which most people agree GTAO got its sh*t together with the heists update. So how much longer should we just brush off RDO's shortfalls as teething problems?

by that logic when RDO dropped they should have stopped GTA V regular updates but they didn't, so just stop with that BS. They are two different IP's with different player bases.
