Rockstar pushing qabeta updates on Saturday, I guess they can utilize weekends with the new "work from home" policy?

Anyway, more updates to qabeta2 which seem to indicate a new patch is coming in the way.

EDIT: To give more context, I'm pretty sure the actual work was done in the last few days, but today is when they finished that sort of work and pushed it for testing.

Developers don't push every new change, they simply make a list of changes and push them in one build. It's like that builds.xml from GTAV, where every build list the new fixes/changes and the existing bugs that are yet to be fixed.

Lets hope they don't f*ck more core mechanics and fix the animals, random encounters and strangers.

Turns out those new Showdown modes are internally called "Pre-007" modes, 007 refers to the next update/DLC.

Some of the modes were made on March 4th, while one was made on March 5th and the rest were made on March 6th. It's interesting to note that during this period, Rockstar updated GTAOnline to add 5 new vehicles to the casino podium list, the more vehicles they add, the longer we have to wait for the new DLC.

I'm starting to believe that during that period, Rockstar developers were informed of the new "work from home" policy that they decided to delay both GTAO & RDO updates while also coming up with small content like those new variations of showdown modes, to keep the community entertained until all developers adapt to the new policy and start fixing bugs and sorting out new features/updates..etc

Anyway, we are getting two new variations in the coming weeks, so we are nowhere close to the next update release week/date.

Yet another nail to the RDO coffin.

the state the game is in right now, I'd happily forgo any new roles being introduced for the next 4-6 months instead focusing on solid bug fixing.

I myself don't have a problem with their decision. In fact, I support it. Either way, the virus was gonna affect them. It probably slowed down the development process but the developers are still working on fixes and new content, we are possibly getting a new patch to introduce some additional fixes. Animal spawns aren't working properly, fixing them isn't easy because Rockstar can't create a testing environment that's equal to the public environment. Releasing new patches to adjust animal spawns is possibly their way of finding the right fix, it's like if an issue popped up on your PC, you would try all sorts of solutions until you find the one that actually fix your issue.

I feel like if Rockstar release a new update nowadays, it would be rushed thus it would cause more bugs making the game much worse than the current state. I myself would let them take their time, in the end, when we get the next update, a new wave of content will hit us and this forum will be alive again discussing all the new content.

The health of the devs is way more important than the next update or even any bug fixes.

Every other game I've seen that has done this hasn't benefited from it, neither has the community for those games. They'll spend a few months fixing stuff, release the update, players will log on, see stuff is fixed, then log off cause there's nothing to do. Then once the next content update comes out and breaks a few things (as does every update for every game), the whole thing starts again.

That being said one way to do something like this is to tie all into a big overhaul update. Warframe recently did something similar, they did a big update that went back and fixed a lot of stuff but it was done while overhauling some of the games essential gameplay pillars, which spiced things up a bit and gave players something to toy with for a bit.

I'm kind of hoping that with the devs working from home that every now and then, they will go "Well, it is late, everyone has gone to sleep, I am not tired... Let's take a look at that X bug that people complain about" and fix it.

I doubt it. Hopefully, they are getting drunk and having filthy sex. Because, that is what, I am doing... at least for the next week or so.

Software development (both games and productivity) seems like it would be extremely well suited to a "work from home" model. I know game producers love endless meetings, but they will adapt.

I thought it was interesting they did a PR interview with Polygon on the 5th of February that seemed totally out of the blue. It makes me wonder if they were close to announcing something, but they had to delay it.

Anyone else thinking the photography, collector part 2 and communal property might all be tied into the same update?

Basically this, a game like this needs constant updates and features to stay relevant. GTAO is fine because it has loads of "end game" toys to aim for. Even at launch it had apartments and million dollar cars. This game has nothing.

Communal property like a highly customizable cabin on a riverboat where there is gambling, a large billiard room (just imagine playing billiards against other players!), and tickets to Mexico......might as well dream big.

Who doesn't want to be Maverick?

they will need to raise the table limits and get rid of texas holdem cause that wasnt even a thing in those days, they need 5 card draw and 5 card stud then we can be Mavrick. love that idea though thats were I would spend alot of my time :)

I would love if the apartments had a open world communal area below them that you had to go through to get to your apartment with a bar and a Poker table etc. Loads of possible buildings in Saint Denis, Strawberry has a building just down from the Jail and Rhodes has one on the main strip.

Nope. Same Limited Stock clothing carried over from last week, unless the tunables update is late.

Rockstar said the limited stock clothing is active for 2 weeks. It should be the same.

I took a look at the properties management menu to see the cost if I wanted to choose (I’ll never do it) a moonshiner shack location and it says it costs 15 gold bars. Discounted?

Can "007 Update" be detective expansion for Bounty Hunters (crimes, etc.) with Naturalist role for Collectors?)

007 refers to mp007, the codename for the next update.

Moonshiner is mp006, Frontier Pursuits is mp005 ..etc

It's just a codename, not some sort of hint as to what the update could be.

So next week, we should get this new variation of "Name Your Weapon", right?

I wonder if it's the last thing we would get in terms of new variations, if they don't plan more variations, then we should be closer to the update release.

Either April 7th or 14th, but the problem is that Rockstar is yet to announce anything about the next update.
