Small offshore islands: anything worthwhile?

So hanging around the islands (we need a name for these islands) for a while, I found it a better spot than I thought. For maintaining cores, you have Wild Mint and Raspberrys to replenish Health and you got Burdock Root for replenishing Stamina. For hunting, just go ham, killing everything with the varmint rifle since pretty much all animals that spawn there are small game. Great spots for fishing too. There's a easier way to get to the islands, go north of the shoreline on Clemen's Point. There will be a sandbar like island that is closer to swim to, swim to that and then you got another very short swim to the main island. Could save time and horse stamina. Probably now one of my favorite places on the map now, so cool to stare out on the lake, really looks you're on a far away island, well, until you turn around and see the mainland that is quite close. 

 

@DentureDynamite Crabs do spawn there, they spawn rarely tho and if they do spawn, they're quite hard to spot (especially in rocky spots), and they are quick if you unknowingly wander too close to them so unless you're looking the right way and have a good eye, you could spot them scurrying off. They can easily be mistaken with Toads from a distance since they're about the same size.

I'm just curious if it's possible to make it there before your horse (or you) run out of stamina and die, and if there are any lootable items or animals worth hunting there?

 

It seems a waste if there's nothing of value on those locations--they seem like a nice place to go to get away from players, if nothing else?

I went out there a few weeks into launch after realizing there were Iguanas there in SIngle Player and... not a single one. Checked again last week, still nothing.

 

BUT, I will say: Those little "Mud" islands on the east side of Lemoyne, northeast of Saint Denis? Those Mud Islands are insanely great for spawning Herons, Egrets, Spoonbills, Loons and Owls.

I'll go back tonight and see if they can find some; and yeah--I probably missed a few, since I mostly ignore anything that looks like a toad.

Make sure you check near the boat wreck,  that's where I've always found them.

It's kind of hilarious riding into town with 2 iguanas strapped to the side of your horse.

A good horse will make the swim over easy to the most northern of the bunch then hop over to the horse shoe one and so on loads of stuff couple of animals only found there as well 

 

Dont forget them crabs

Nope if you try to swim or go on boat the game kills you when you get close.

This still p*sses me off. Why not allow us to get to the prison island? Pointless fun policing.
