Let's make this topic the official places to report houses, cabins etc where the player can get some rest and sleep.

Nice idea for a topic. All those houses can also be looted, always wondered if some other occupant might pop up if you stay/sleep for too long. Here's a few on top of my head. Will add more.

Another location i remember that you can sleep at(but only at the end of "Geology for Beginners" side mission, after which it'll become locked again)

There's a house along the San Luis River southwest on Manteca Falls that you can sleep in. 

 

 

Can you still access the stilt house after completing the Black and White missions? I never tried.

I noticed there is a lot of houses where you can sleep. To bad you can't change your outfit there. Sure, it would not make sense - but since you can't buy other safehouses why not.

After I had finished the game, I was just roaming around as John, just north/east of Emerald Ranch, and noticed a brand new built house, with huge fenced yard and for sale sign.  It is not there during Arthur gameplay...I have been checking from time-to-time during my second playthrough.  No signs of any building on the vacant field as I'm nearing the end of Arthur's reign.   

 

Don't think there is a bed to sleep on, as it's a new build, but wonder what it's purpose is?  It is not in RDO, so apparently not a safe house....curious.

There are 3 of those in game during the Epilogue.  The unfortunately do NOTHING except sit there, empty, pristine new wood, no people or animals.

I still assume they will be used in online, but I'm not 100% certain about the timeline, considering when RDO takes place (so far at least).

I did not managed to sleep in the small house in Manzanita Post and there was 2 people inside, is there a need to do a mission before?

Hm, might've been a mistake then...Have to recheck, i've been there with Arthur though.

 

One more i found: Beecher's hope(before epilogue) - i think it only works when you glitch as Arthur in chapter 4 and up via Bronte glitch, otherwise it's locked(as in lawmen hunt you) and i guess after epilogue it doesn't appear(someone confirm)

Colter should definitely be noted, as it's the only area up there you can sleep in (even though its only 32 degrees in the house), I even headed all the way out to Dormin Crest to make sure. North West Ambarino is a goddamn wasteland

I won’t say where but the biggest fright I have had in the game is going into a cabin to find that a grizzly was living there.

Add the home shack of Emmet Granger. Just figured it out today when I went there to pick up the harmonica. 
Maybe the other gunslingers' hideouts also apply? (Hernandez and Belle?)

I thought that could be used as a safe house, but when I went there last night I didn't have the option to sleep. Maybe it's because I killed the rancher while he was inside the cabin. Or maybe it's because I'm done with the story (post credits).

When you were there was it during the epilogue or after the credits? I went there today and there was a couple living in the house so I couldn't sleep there. I'm exploring after the credits have rolled.

It was actually there during the main story with Arthur. I guess it won't be availabe from the Epilogue on ...

I went up there with two horses, and both acted skittery when we got close to the cabin, and could hear it roaring. I took them both back down the road, made them stay, went back up and lobbed a dynamite through the window. I don't know the quality of the pelt prior to blowing it up, and don't recall whether the bear could be skinned or not.

I've put together a map of all of the safe houses that I found while exploring the game after the credits rolled. I checked every enterable building on the map outside of the populated towns. The exception I made to that was the tents in Blackwater. A couple of thoughts and observations made during my exploring. 

• Rio Bravo and Scarlett Meadows have no safe houses. 
• The safe houses in Colter and Lakay are the same ones used as Dutch's gang camps. Hangdog Ranch was on the leaked map as a gang camp and is available as a safe house. I think it's just more evidence that the leaked map was accurate at the time it was leaked. 
• I don't think Rockstar had any system or thought behind where these are located, I think most of them are just random and based on the assets that person creating these houses used. It seems that certain beds and bed rolls are able to be slept in. For example the tents in Plainview can not be slept in even though they have the same design as the tents in Blackwater. The difference is the bed inside the tents.

Hello guys, i loved this post since im an oldschool gamer.

Theres a house just down south of flatneck's station.

I believe that you need to complete one of the guys duel side quest to be able to rest there...

 

Im working with the rdr2 map from mapgenie, where you have the tool to add custom notes to anything you want, so you can share the linl with others..

 

I've discovered some npc tents where you can actually sleep.

The yellow ones can be found during daytime and the blue one during the night.

There are a few ranches not on this list which you can sleep at. Most of the time you need to kill the ranchers first before the sleep option becomes available.
