TheSantader25 3,845 Posted January 8 (edited) Mine would be losing my memory. Thankfully I have a pretty good memory but I'm always afraid of forgetting some of the good or even bad moments of my past, my knowledge and experience. That's why every now and then I go through a nostalgia trip to remember everything as much as I can and I usually write them down as well. Tbh I'm not afraid of death. YET but maybe in the future. Neon_Dreaming 2,209 Posted January 8 Death tbh, going through a bit of an extistential crisis at the moment so that's not helping with that fear either. Also getting old like the poster above said.
Mister Pinkerton 8,650 Posted January 8 I don't fear death but I often worry about getting older. And I've been like this for years. I know when I'm in my 40's, I'll look back on now and think "what was worrying about, I was young" but it doesn't go away. Sometimes my mind gets eased when I see older people really living their lives, travelling, working out or dressing like they don't give a f*ck.

Tacymist 12,307 Posted January 8 Tight crevices. Like very tight, just big enough to fit your body into and having to crawl on your belly to move around. I often have nightmares of crawling through a maze like crevice that's dark with just a flashlight for me to see, and then it goes out and I get lost. Some nightmares of this involve water flooding into the crevice and some involve the crevice slowly collapsing. So I fear tight spaces, drowning, and getting crushed to death. Also burning to death, sometimes I have nightmares where I'm crammed into a metal box with a fire lit under it.
Mafia Assassin® 1,230 Posted January 8 Painful Death. I'm not afraid of dying but I dread dying in such situations like: stuck in a place and nobody around to help, stuck in a place where I can't breath, drowning, etc. Living my whole life alone. 3 minutes ago, Tacymist said: Tight crevices. Just looking at them creeps me out. 4 minutes ago, Mafia Assassin® said: Living my whole life alone. I can relate to that. Hehe. I love being alone. trip 12,426 Posted January 8 House fire while I'm at work...because I have pets. In the old days I used to call my old fashioned answering machine figuring that if the house was on fire the machine wouldn't pick up. Then I used to have a web server in my house, so I would check the web site figuring that if the house was on fire the web site wouldn't come up. Now I have outdoor security cameras that I use to confirm that my house isn't on fire.
Nico 3,466 Posted January 8 I always had trouble with the dark. To this very day I still sleep with a minimal source of light in my bedroom, I can't stand total blackout. Living in a place where literally everything can cause a power cut doesn't help at all. I fear becoming too old to find a decent job and make a living of my own for good. I am one of those people who gets depressed whenever I hear things like "now we are closer to 2038 than we are to 2004". I have very little joy in my current life and often think about how different things were when I was a kid. School sucked, but the rest wasn't so bad. Miss the times when people's faces weren't stuck into a tiny screen and actually looked around.

American Venom 38,494 Posted January 9 Someone breaking my GTA IV disc and not being to play it anymore. Yikes. But for real besides common phobies like heights, spiders etc the one fear that absolutely scares the sh*t out of me is being trapped in a life or death situation in complete isolation. That's why survival movies like 147 Hours, Frozen (Not be confused with the animated Frozen) etc kinda freak me out because I can't think of anything worse than being rendered helpless and have to find my own way to survive. That and being buried alive or being taken hostage by a crazy militia/terrorist organisation. I don't fear death itself. Hopefully I'll go in my sleep in my 90s as an old codger, but there are infinitie ways to die and it's unsettling to think about. Just hope the Grim Reaper grants me a respectable one. I don't want to die naked with a pineapple shoved up my arse and my face painted like raggity Anne or something. My restless spirit would be fuming.
Jimmy 2,819 Posted January 9 I used to be afraid of heights for a long time. It took me quite some years to conquer it. Had to muster up a lot of courage and get to high places alone to understand that it was nothing but the fear itself. Apart from that, I'm claustrophobic. Always hated small places. Death is something I don't have much fear for. I always imagined it to be peaceful and painless. I try my best to live life contently and have no regrets whatsoever. I'm still scared of heights. The fear of dying alone is sth I can relate to. I'm tired of living alone

Purevil 1,462 Posted January 14 Hornets scare the sh*t out of me due to the size. Never had a problem with them. These little fellas are cute but I've had lots of problems with them. I think the smaller they are the more attitiude you get from them. They must have little wasp syndrome. They don't scare me though.

Mister Pinkerton 8,650 Posted January 15 Every few months or so, I may briefly wander on to an unfiltered "news" site where you can see people get run over, workplace accidents, suicides, and other horrible things. I don't know why because I get no pleasure from it. I think it's like a good dose of reality. I think it reminds me how quickly life can go. It also makes me very cautious about potential accidents that can occur. I feel awful for the people and it can be depressing to watch so I try not to venture there. It does make me feel lucky to be alive and I think it some ways it keeps me in check and encourages me to make more risk-averse decisions like not crossing the road in busy traffic and crossing at lights etc. I suppose I would have a fear of having some sort of accident like being run over and seeing my insides sprawled out on the street. And humans are garbage. They'll stand there and record it on their phone. I'm no better for having watched it something like that online.
